Malaysia’s Oldest Woman Dies At Age 128 In Kg Seberang Batu Hampar

The country’s oldest woman, aged 128, died at her home in Kg Seberang Batu Hampar near Rembau on Thursday.

Safiah Ujang, whose identity card states that she was born on Feb 11, 1889, died around 1pm from natural causes.

Rembau OCPD DSP Ibrahim Sharif said police received a report of Safiah’s death on Thursday.

He added that Safiah was laid to rest at a Muslim cemetery in her village after Asar prayers Thursday afternoon.

DSP Ibrahim said Safiah had been unwell in recent weeks and her condition gradually worsened as she could not consume solid food.

She is survived by her son Abdul Ghani Daud, 74, six grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
