Miss Singapore 2015 Is From Myanmar, Only Obtained Citizenship In 2007

Miss Charity Maru, also known as Charity Lu Lu Seng, finally tasted victory on Wednesday night.

The 24-year-old freelance translator beat 13 other contestants to be crowned Miss World Singapore 2015 at the One Farrer Hotel & Spa.

But her joy was quickly tainted by criticism online that she is not the best person to represent Singapore at the international finals on Dec 19 in China.

Miss Maru is a relatively new citizen, getting her pink IC only in 2007.

Myanmar Nationals Think Singapore Will Collapse Without Them

    Hey all Singapore stuff,

And in the picture showing line of Myanmar people queuing at Myanmar embassy. Which I think u saw in CNA news .

In the comments post by the author . There were lots of likes and support . Don’t you think they are being ungrateful and forgetting who is giving them job . We should let people know about it

  • Singapore’s Population Growth At Slowest In More Than A Decade

Singapore’s Population Growth At Slowest In More Than A Decade

SINGAPORE (Reuters) – Singapore’s population rose 1.2 percent over the past year, the slowest in more than a decade, as it tried to reduce numbers of foreign workers, while long-standing efforts to encourage citizens to have more children bore some fruit.

The total population stood at 5.54 million as of June 2015, according to data released on Wednesday, including 3.38 million citizens.

The citizen population continued to age, with 13.1 percent 65 or older, compared with 12.4 percent last year, due to slowing fertility rates and increasing life expectancy.

Singapore has for years tried to get its well-educated and well-off citizens to have more children, with little success but births in 2014 rose 7 percent, to 33,193, close to the 2012 level, which was the highest in a decade.

Increasing numbers of foreign workers led to grumbling about high property prices and crowded public transport and in response, the government has been curbing numbers, exacerbating a labour crunch, particularly in manufacturing, services and construction.

Businesses faced a tight labour market but help was at hand, the government said in its 2015 population report.

“The government will support businesses to shift towards skills- and capital-intensive ways to grow, so that businesses can continue to grow and succeed here, to create quality jobs for Singaporeans,” the government said.

FT From Britain Shamed By Local Girl For Being A Pervert On Dating Website

    Dear All Singapore Stuff,

A perverted Caucasian foreigner working in Singapore, in NUS, was exposed by a girl whom he tried to date. Rather than waste time on indirect approaches like most Singaporean men, he directly told her that he needed to have sex with her because his penis was hard. Should he arrested for sexual harassment?

  • Foreign Talent Wish To Enjoy Singapore Passport But Unwilling To Serve NS?

Foreign Talent Wish To Enjoy Singapore Passport But Unwilling To Serve NS?

    Dear Editors,

Saw this posting of crappy FT on the pros and cons of getting SG citizenship for her Son.

What really cheesed me is the policy of having an option for her Son to decide at the age of 21 years whether they want to stay or leave. And still got the cheek to respond they are having the same concerns?

To the FTs here…. If you do not have the intention to let your son serve NS after sponging on us for 21 years, don’t waste our taxpayers money supporting your son.

So this is the type of quality of new citizens our dear 69.x% endorsed has been targeting to secure? Dual passport citizens that runs when it’s time for them to pay back all the benefits they’ve been bestowed by our taxpayers money and enjoyed?!

What kind of crap policy does the incumbent 69.9% have that gives the option to chose which passport to retain at 21 years old?!
