    Malaysian Police Cannot Help Singaporean Robbery Victim In JB, Witnesses Please Come Forward

    Dear family and friends, i was robbed earlier today in JB around Lorong Bapok, my car window screen was smashed and i have lost everything, thankfully Ive not lost my life. Alhamdulilah. Well… to cut things short. The culprit who robbed me earlier had used up all the money in my bank even b4 i call the bank to block the card. Now i am left with $0. Nothing. Not even a single cents with me. And the culprit had even swipe my Crdit card amounting to 800 bucks in a bar name Elite in Grand Paragon Johor Bahru. Also, my card was used to pump petrol at Shell at the following address.

    Stesyen Minyak Shell, Lot Ptd 71041, Jalan Serampang, Taman Pelangi, Johor Bahru, 80400, Johor Bahru, Johor, 80050, Malaysia

    Amounting up to rm200. I had make a police report in Perling but they told me it is out of their area and they need to refer my case to the Central station. Its already more than 12hrs and i have not receive any news. Even with all the details i have provided.

    Anyone here who knows of anyone who can get me a cctv record at the said petrol kiosk on the culprit photo and vechicle plate number. It is at 0133hrs on 24 July 2015.

    Also anyone from Grand Paragon Johor Bahru at a bar named Elite at 0217hrs.

    Please help me to share this post and i hope to get some information and leads to the culprit. I thank all of u in advance for the help rendered.

    May Allah bless all of u. Please keep me in your prayers as i am left with nothing. I am not contactable now, i dont remember anyone number and i have to result in borrowing someone phone to use FB platform to reach out to my family and friends.

    CNB And SPF To Explore Recording Interviews During Investigations

    The Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) and the Singapore Police Force will start consultations on the Video Recording of Interviews (VRI) during investigations, the Ministry of Home Affairs announced on Wednesday (Jul 22).

    The consultations will be conducted with a view to start the VRI pilot from first quarter of 2016, it added in its press release.

    The pilot will involve a limited set of offences and allow for an assessment for how the VRI impacts investigations, its effectiveness in different situations, and the resources required to implement VRI, before a decision is made on its broader implementation, said the ministry.

    This comes after MHA, together with the Attorney-General’s Chambers and the Ministry of Law, conducted a study on the feasibility of introducing VRI. The study looked at how VRI has been adopted in the US, UK, Australia and Hong Kong, and how the various models of VRI impacted the administration of criminal justice, said MHA.

    The ministry found that the implementation of VRI in Singapore “will further strengthen confidence in the integrity of our criminal justice system and assist the Courts to try cases more effectively”.

    With the VRI, a recording of the interview will be provided to the Courts so as allow it to “take the interviewee’s demeanour into account in determining the admissibility or weight to be accorded to the interviewee’s statement”, said MHA.

    “It will also provide an objective, contemporaneous account of the interview process and allow the Courts to decide on allegations that may be made about the interview,” the ministry added.

    MHA said the pilot will be conducted under the existing legal framework, and that they will commence consultations with various stakeholders on its implementation. Further details will be announced after consultations have been completed, it said.

    For 20 agonising minutes, a mother and her three young children were stricken by fear when they were held captive in their Yishun flat yesterday.

    A desperate intruder had broken into their home and was frantically trying to escape the police.

    He was eventually arrested.

    Speaking to The New Paper after the incident, Madam Suhadah Jumadi, 33, said she was getting ready to break fast with her children in the living of their home in Block 431B, Yishun Avenue 1, when she saw a barefooted man walk out of her bedroom.

    He had climbed into her sixth-storey flat through the master bedroom window from the level above, breaking her window grilles.

    She hadn’t heard him as the TV was on and her children were playing.

    “The man told me not to call the police and asked me to find a way to help him get away,” Madam Suhadah said.

    Then she heard a commotion at her door as well as sounds under the block.

    “I could see uniformed officers outside (the window on the first storey), as well those knocking on my door (through the peephole).

    “That’s when I knew he was a wanted man,” she said.

    Masagos Zulkifli: Findings Into Khoo Teck Puat Incident Will Be Used To Update SOPs

    Findings from the investigation on the shooting that occurred at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital will help the authorities determine the kind of “correction” that will need to be taken to mitigate against a future occurrence, Second Minister for Home Affairs Masagos Zulkifli said on Monday (Jun 22).

    “Right now it’s still before the courts and we still have to do our investigation. The findings from this investigation will help us diagnose what the problems are, and what kind of corrections we may need to make in future,” Mr Masagos said at a HomeTeamNS event.

    On Saturday, a 23-year-old Singaporean man, who was under arrest for vehicle theft, was escorted to the hospital to seek medical attention after complaining of chest pains.

    While inside a private hospital room, the suspect attempted to escape and struggled with the officer. During the struggle shots were fired, with the officer wounded on his left hand and right foot.

    The man was brought under control and remains in police custody, and could face the death penalty under the Arms Offences Act for the unlawful discharge of firearms.

    A Khoo Teck Puat Hospital spokesman said the police officer needed immediate microsurgery on his hand and a hand surgeon was immediately available at Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

    Gunshot At KTPH: Suspect To Be Charged Today, Faces Possible Death Penalty

    Gunshots were fired in Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH) at about 7.05pm on Saturday (Jun 20), police confirmed.

    Police had escorted a 24-year-old Singaporean man, who had been arrested the day before for motor vehicle theft, to KTPH to seek medical attention after he complained of chest pains. While inside one of the hospital’s examination rooms, the man attempted to escape and a struggle ensued, during which he snatched the police officer’s revolver. Shots were fired from the revolver.

    The suspect was subsequently subdued and the situation brought under control, said police, who assured that members of the public were not in any danger at any time.

    The suspect sustained superficial injuries, while the 31-year-old police officer sustained gunshot wounds to his thumb and foot. The police officer was sent to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

    A Khoo Teck Puat Hospital spokesman said the police officer needed immediate microsurgery on his hand and a hand surgeon was immediately available at Tan Tock Seng Hospital. On Sunday evening, police said he had already undergone surgery and was in stable condition.

    The authorities added that the suspect will be produced in Court on Monday at 2pm, on a holding charge of Unlawful Discharge of Firearms under Section 4(1) of the Arms Offences Act Chapter 14, which carries the death penalty.
