    DIVIDE AND CONQUER?
    Our president? No she is not?

    It is truly sickening and saddening to see this whole circus turning into a racial mud sling like no other. It‘s purely the Malay feeling slighted cause the Majority Chinese and the minority Indians seems not to be able to accept Madam Halimah Selection cause of her perceived race of being Malay. I saw such unbecoming racist comment in all social media news. We are taking 3 steps backwards. It’s a black moment for us all.

    They just miss the point and turn it into a racial slur to their convenience without understanding the whole issues. It’s no longer about the MALAY presidency, that majority of Singaporeans are able to accept. It’s the walkover where the other contenders are denied a fight that pissed us no end and the denial to our voting rights. If Farid and Salleh Marican are fielded one of them , Indian or Malay or even Halimah will be stalled then our votes had done the talking and we will be more appeased.

    So as the story goes! Singaporeans as a whole is upset with this Malay only qualify to run PE. As to add salt to our already injured wounds, the Malay is not really Malay. But then we were all hype up and was excited that well okaylah there will still be a contest. We will still be able to register our rights as voters with 3 Malay contenders. But lo and behold, it’s a walkover and that is when the Camel Break it’s straw and all hell break loose.

    That disappointment of a no contest is indescribable. Besides denying our rights to vote, we are denied the right to let our one and only vote do the talking. What a let down. And as though there is not enough entertainment for us, Madam President decides to turn her residential area into a Yistana. Well that is another fanfare for us netizen to have a field day with.

    All this excitement will soon dies down and life goes on as our outgoing president had admitted the highlight of his presidency is Schooling won a medal, well this is a merely ceremonial job.

    And to Madam President, I hope you can proof your critiques wrong including me. That you will do better than your predecessors. Be that unifying factory. Please help to close the bridge that will collapse slow and steady if not repaired in time.

    Now that you are bringing in that motherly figure as your style of governing. Please bear in mind we are all your children. Some of us are good and some are rebels. Whoever, we are we are your children that you have to love us equally and be fair and may one day we all grow to love and appreciate you for all goods that has been said about you and you have 6 years to do just that. To be a good and respected figure head. Walk the talk. Proof it that you are our president indeed! THE PEOPLE PRESIDENT!

    To All Rental companies, do reconsider renting to all these hirers; Ang Pei Ling Sharon, Siti Aminah Binte Mohamed Normaya, Mohammed Yazri Bin Ya’Akob and Ong Seow Pang. They have defaulted our rental and yet always taking us for a spin for their commitment on payment. Worst of all, they will tell you how previous rental companies have treating them unfairly. Two of them, Sharon and Siti still hold a day job yet still refuses to pay and clear our rental. Ong Seow Pang even did not update his ID address resulting us a long time to repossess back our car.

    Rental companies are always vulnerable to all these kind of rental payment defaulter. Since we are already a victim, we are left with no choice but put up in social media to warn all rental companies to take note. Our aim is not to shame them but to warn other to take note of renting to these hirers. We might not be their first victims so in order not to let them continue with their lies and deceive, we ought to play our part in stopping other rental companies to become their victims.

    Prata Wala is a Halal-certified Indian restaurant which provides delicious, value-for-money Indian cuisine in a clean and chic life-style setting. But the reviews of the shop has not been that receptive especially after the opening of their new outlet in Northpoint.

    Were customers cheated by the advert as seen in the picture? Looks more filling and can clearly see the salted egg too, but of course it has to be that way to attract the customers. So are these the real thoughts about Prata Wala? Not too sure coz haven’t tried also. Apa korang rasa?

    SETIAP kali pensyarahnya memberinya tugasan, Cik Nur Shireen Marican melaksanakannya dengan cekap dan menganggapnya sebagai satu projek profesional. “Saya menganggap segala tugasan yang diberikan bukan sebagai kerja sekolah tetapi mempersembahkannya seolah-olah pensyarah saya itu adalah majikan saya,” kata bekas pelajar Maktab Seni Lasalle ini. Ekoran dedikasi dan komitmennya itu, siswazah Pengurusan Seni ini telah dipilih sebagai penerima Anugerah Lasalle bagi Kecemerlangan Akademik.

    Anugerah itu diberikan kepada pelajar terbaik setiap fakulti yang telah berjaya mengekalkan kedudukan akademik cemerlang sepanjang pendidikan mereka di Maktab Seni Lasalle. Anak bongsu dua beradik itu yang meraih Kepujian Kelas Pertama dalam Pengurusan Seni merupakan antara 852 graduan yang bakal menerima ijazah dan diploma mereka semasa Konvokesyen Maktab Seni Lasalle di Pusat Pameran dan Konvensyen Singapore Expo hari ini. Menurut Cik Shireen, yang sebelum ini merupakan bekas pelajar Maktab Rendah Tampines, pilihan melanjutkan pelajarannya dalam bidang pengurusan seni merupakan satu pilihan yang diingininya sejak dulu lagi.

    “Memang kebanyakan teman saya melanjutkan pelajaran ke universiti setempat dan mengambil kursus biasa, tetapi saya sebaliknya mahu memilih pengurusan seni kerana bagi saya seni itu sesuatu yang amat organik. Tiada yang salah atau betul dalam seni. Tambahan, pengalaman yang saya raih di Lasalle memberi saya peluang agar terus mempertingkat dan membangunkan potensi saya dalam bidang ini,” ujarnya. Bekas pelajar Sekolah Menengah Tanjong Katong itu berminat mahu menjadi kurator muzium dengan pengkhususan kepada budaya dan warisan.

    Buat masa ini juga, Cik Nur Shireen telahpun mendapat kerja sebagai pengkaji bebas di Taman Warisan Melayu bermula Mei lalu selepas tamat pengajian di Maktab Seni Lasalle. Mengulas tentang pencapaian Cik Nur Shireen, pensyarahnya Cik Sunitha Janamohanan, berkata: “Cik Nur Shireen merupakan seorang pelajar yang komited dan tekun yang sering mengambil bahagian dalam perbincangan kelas sambil memberi sumbangan bernas. Sepanjang pengajiannya di Lasalle, beliau sering memaparkan prestasi cemerlang dan profesional.”

    His girlfriend had accidentally called him in the wee hours of the morning while she was with another man. Furious, he brought along a Glock 18C air pistol and threatened the other man with it. For his actions, 25-year-old Danial Mahmod was jailed nine weeks and fined $4,000 on Tuesday (19 September) after being found guilty of criminal intimidation as well as possessing and importing an unlicensed air pistol. The court heard that on 18 November last year, Danial’s girlfriend, Rashidah, had gone out with Khairulanwar Salih. Khairulanwar sent Rashidah home at about 5am the next morning.

    The pair were smoking at an open air carpark in Hougang Avenue 3 when Rashidah accidentally dialled Danial’s phone. Danial overheard her conversation with Khairulanwar and was upset over his girlfriend speaking to another man at that time of the morning. Danial then took his air pistol and drove his mother’s car to Rashidah’s home with the intention of confronting her. At the same time, Rashidah told Khairulanwar about the accidental call to Danial, whom she described as her ex-boyfriend. Khairulanwar then sent her back to her flat.

    When Danial arrived, he had an exchange of words with Khairulanwar along the corridor of Rashidah’s unit, claiming that he was still her boyfriend. Eventually, Danial and Rashidah agreed to discuss the matter near Danial’s car, which was parked below the block, while Khairulanwar followed the pair. At about 6.50am, an argument broke out as Danial questioned Rashidah on what she did with Khairulanwar throughout the night. When Khairulanwar intervened, Danial withdrew his air pistol and racked its slide to scare the former. Fearing for his safety, Khairulanwar left the scene. Danial and Rashidah then entered the car, where Danial emptied the air pistol’s magazine before firing it. This resulted in a loud bang which Khairulanwar heard and he then called the police.

    Officers who arrived at the scene searched Danial’s vehicle and found a knife, along with the air pistol. Danial was arrested and brought to his home, where police seized several more items, including a gas canister. Further investigations also revealed that between 2014 and 2015, Danial had purchased the gun online and collected it in Kuala Lumpur. He had dismantled the gun into three different parts and hid them in different areas of his car to avoid detection at the Woodlands Checkpoint. District Judge Lorraine Ho said that a “deterrence sentence” was needed out of concern for the “safety of the public” when meting out her sentence. “The accused should not be allowed to take the law into his own hands,” she added.
