  • Beware: Renovation Company Cheating Customers Again After Several Years Passed

Beware: Renovation Company Cheating Customers Again After Several Years Passed

    Dear Friends,
If you see this couple running a company please don’t trust and make any payments. Now the company is under this name (Carpentry Interior Works Pte Ltd) but you will never know when they will change the company name again. They don’t bother how you suffer paying your loan back to the bank or etc. To them as long u pay them is enough but they won’t complete your job. Office is longer operating at Telok Kurua or Yishun. I wonder where would the next LOCATION & COMPANY BE???

    **** Make these scammers famous****

This women Sharlyne real name Husniyati Binte Omar & her husband Andre Yu real name Aszrul Yusoff are scammers! They have cheated me a total of $15,100 for my renovation. Took a deposit from me of $500 in early Feb and waited for me to apply my renovation loan with DBS bank.. which was approved in March.. I received my chq and gave it to them on 5/4/2017 she promised to start work immediately but when I texted her she asked me to come down to the office to sign another agreement so I contacted her again to check when to go down..she didn’t reply.. tried to look for her company’s facebook but couldn’t seem to find it! After a few day’s I come to find out that she has been arrested for cheating..

I made a police report and was advised to go to CASE TRUST went there today but was told nothing can be done if the company is no longer operating so they just took a report for formality sake. I can’t believe we got cheated. I have been suffering and just got my house after 6yrs and now when I finally when i get my house this happens to me.

They’ve cheated many other people as well I’m not the only one.

Both her office has been shut down

    1) 308 Telok Kurau Road, #01-18 Vibes @ East Coast Singapore 423858.
    2)A’posh Bizhub, Yishun Industrial St 1 #03-01.

I really hope something could be done about this I feel devastated about what has happened.

Please be aware of her & her husband! She’s has 7 kids I don’t understand how she could do this to another family?? How would she feel is this was one of own flash and blood?

I remember clearly of her saying “I’m giving you my hand please don’t bite it” WELL DONE! who has bitten who’s hand!!! Bloody bitch!

Now I have lost $14,600 + $500 (Deposit) where no work is done at all for my renovation plus I have to pay the bank back with interest of $16,600 total amount is $31,700! That’s alot of money to me I don’t even earn that in 1 year! I feel lost on what to do! She’s going to pay for this!

My sister has also engage her service’s and got cheated too. Lucky my sister’s amount is not as much as mine but it’s still money and we’re not rich! We really hope all the truth about her will come to light. We have wasted so much time and money on this two people!

Please share and make her famous!!!

    EDITOR’S NOTE

Apparently, the couple and the company they own have scammed several victims since 2014 where we had a similar post about the scam. It is likely that they have been arrested based on photos taken from https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=332106030525901&id=332104343859403. Photos of the couple is also available here.

Sadly, cheating companies can continue operating and they can even turn an occasional profit.

Do a keyword search for the company and include the term “scam” and you’ll find all of the complaints about shoddy products and substandard service. And yes, those are the ones you want to avoid. Right about now, you should also look out for “Sharlyne / Andre / Sherie / Reshea Carpentry Design Works/ Carpentry Interior Works Pte Ltd” when looking for renovation company to engage their services.

Have you been cheated by this particular scammers or any other renovation companies? Share your encounter with us at Rilek1Corner.

  • Some Parents Don’t Understand Why Birthday Celebrations Should Be Kept To Minimum

Some Parents Don’t Understand Why Birthday Celebrations Should Be Kept To Minimum

No goody bags, no sweet treats and no gifts. Instead, a simple birthday song sung in class should suffice.

Some primary schools are laying down the law on birthday festivities in schools, saying they should be kept to “no-frills” celebrations.

This, they say, will curb concerns about food allergies and the consumption of junk food.

Just as important, it prevents students from making comparisons between the haves and have-nots.

The Straits Times found that at least six schools have issued such guidelines in recent years: Dazhong Primary School, Pei Chun Public School, Geylang Methodist School (Primary), Oasis Primary School, Springdale Primary School and Riverside Primary School.

The Ministry of Education has no policy on this, allowing individual schools to decide.

But some parents whose children are in these schools are unhappy, saying that they celebrated their children’s birthdays in pre-school and should be allowed to continue the custom in primary school.

Housewife Betha Bhanu Valli Kalyani, 36, who has a son in Primary 2 in Springdale Primary, used to mark birthdays with him in pre-school by distributing goody bags containing toys and tidbits to his classmates, in addition to ordering balloons and a cake.

“He used to have celebrations in kindergarten, so I don’t see why he is not allowed to do so now,” she said.

Housewife Geraldine Tan, 41, who has a son in Primary 2 at Holy Innocents’ Primary School, said his school does not discourage such celebrations.

Making comparisons “is part and parcel of life and shielding children from that is a little excessive”, said Ms Tan.

But the schools say that they have their reasons.

“There is also a concern that the students will start to compare between the haves and have-nots,” principal Ong-Chew Lu See said.

“While we want our students to build quality relationships within the class, we do not want to encourage comparison among them.”

“Some parents show their love by wanting to celebrate their birthdays in a bigger way, but others love their children in simpler ways…

“Parents have said that this avoids comparison (of material wealth) among pupils,” she told The Straits Times.

Civil servant Nur Azlina, 36, who has a Primary 2 daughter and Primary 1 son in Riverside Primary, likes the school’s “no-frills” stance.

She recounted how her son’s classmate had given out customised pencil cases inscribed with the name of each child during a birthday party in kindergarten and he had asked her if they could do something similar for his birthday.

“Children already start making comparisons at a young age and it makes things difficult for parents who come from different family backgrounds,” said Madam Azlina.

  • Malaysia Minister: No Halal Certification For Products That Use “Haram” Names

Malaysia Minister: No Halal Certification For Products That Use “Haram” Names

KUALA LUMPUR, April 17 — Authorities will not issue halal certification for non-alcoholic “beer” or any product that uses “haram”-related names like ham or bacon, minister Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom said today.

National newswire Bernama quoted the minister in the Prime Minister’s Department as saying at the Dewan Negara that the use of the term “halal beer” went against the Manual Procedure for Malaysia Halal Certification (MPPHM) used by the Islamic Development Department (Jakim) and other state Islamic departments for halal certification.

“In the manual, it’s clearly stated that products which use names or have names synonymous with non-halal products, or confusing terms like ‘ham’, ‘bak kut teh’, ‘bacon’, ‘beer’ and the like, cannot qualify for Malaysian halal certification.

“Halal food or halal artificial food colouring also cannot use names or names synonymous with confusing terms that refer to non-halal food,” Jamil Khir said in response to Senator Khairiah Mohamed, who asked the government for a list of approved “halal beer” that is in the market, as well as conditions for selling “halal beer”.

Jamil Khir also reportedly said some of those beverages have received halal certification from foreign private companies or halal certification bodies and that some did not use any halal logo on their products.

“It must be stressed that Jakim and JAIN (state Islamic departments) are the authorities for Malaysian halal certification. Each application for Malaysian halal certification must follow the MPPHM or fatwa decisions and related rules used in Malaysian halal certification.

“So, Jakim will ensure that these beverages do not misuse the Malaysian halal logo on their products,” he was quoted saying.

US paper the Wall Street Journal reported in 2015 that Malaysia’s non-alcoholic beer market in 2013 was three million litres and was expected to grow to 3.6 million litres by 2016, a small figure compared to the 11.5 per cent sales in the Middle East and Africa.

The report also said that fast food chain A&W switched to calling its root beer “RB” in 2013, in order to get the halal certification for all its outlets.

The issue of halal certification surfaced last October after an executive with US pretzel chain Auntie Anne’s revealed that their application for halal certification had failed due to, among others, concerns over “pretzel dogs” on the menu.

Some fast food restaurants in Malaysia use non-pork alternatives for ham and bacon, such as turkey ham and beef bacon. There are also vegetarian versions of “bak kut teh” (pork rib soup).
