Abdul Salim Harun: Why Minority Candidates Need To Be Certified By Committee But Not Majority Candidates?

    Food for thought:

This coming Reserved Presidential Election has open up a can of worms. Race issues is being hotly debated on what it means to be a Malay, what defines a Malay.

For me, I can consider myself lucky. After being born as a Malay (my IC indicates that I’m a Malay), and now turning to 36, I have been twice certified and approved (2006, 2011) by the Malay community committee set up by the Government that indeed, i am a Malay and is a member of the Malay community.

I am deeply saddened though, for my fellow brothers and sisters who has not been certified yet as a Malay (even though their IC indicates so), as the committee has not certified them to be as one.

Which brought me to ask the following question. Why do the minority candidates in every election, have to go and get themselves certified by the various minority community committees, before they can stand as a candidate?

And why, the Chinese candidates, do not have to go through the same process and get themselves to be certified first as a Chinese before they are allowed to stand?

And why is there this nonsensical policy at the first place?

Isn’t this a discriminatory practice towards the minorities? Aren’t we what we are based on the IC? Why the certification to be approve of the race that you are born into and belongs to?

Regardless of race, language or religion, this unhealthy practices has to be stop for once and for all.

The PAP Government is preaching about racial harmony and unity but they aren’t walking the talk when what they do is basically racist and discriminatory in nature!

    What say you?

Abdul Salim Harun: PAP Must Stop Playing Racism Card

As a Singaporean Malay, I am deeply insulted with the PAP Government move to reserve the coming Presidential Election ONLY for Malay candidates.

Frankly speaking, we need an Elected President base on his ability and credibility to lead and safeguard our Reserves, and NOT because of his race.

By reserving the Presidential Election to the Malays, the PAP Government has in fact directly play the RACISM card, and looking down on the Malay Community as a whole.

What happens to the values of Democracy and Meritocracy? Shouldn’t we be electing the best of the best to be elected as the President, regardless of race, language or religion?

I will like to urge the Malay Community to speak up on this issue and say NO to this RACIST policy of the PAP Government.

Ask the PAP Government why can’t we have DPM Tharman as our next Prime Minister, as he is the best choice to bring Singapore forward compared to the rest…

Abdul Salim Harun: Can’t Singaporeans Have Differing Views From PAP?

Fixing the Opposition, Fixing the activists. They do it fast in a lightning speed. Harassments, threats, fear… That’s how they treat the people now…

But when it comes to the Whites, they sweep everything under the carpet. Police reports made, it take ages for them to react, or they will just sleep on it.

The sad state of the rotting country we are living in today. But there’s no other way since 70% approved of their despicable and dirty tactics… In cahoot with the Big Bullies just because of differences in views and opinions.

“To build a DEMOCRATIC society, based on JUSTICE and EQUALITY…”, the pledge taken by the White HYPOCRITES. FALSE promises, to the blinded Sheeps by the wolves in disguise!

Abdul Salim Harun: With Mdm Halimah Yacob’s Help, I Can Continue My Work

Last night is the first time ever in my life, I step into a Meet the People Session, held by the MP of my area, Mdm Halimah Yacob.

The purpose of my visit, is not to seek help or assistance, but instead, to clear and clarify some issues which have been bugging me for awhile, and also on the advice of a friend.

I go to the MPS with good faith and open mind, and I’m happy that she’s willing to accommodate me as no matter what, I’m still her resident.

Even though I did not manage to get the full information which I had wanted, I understand the position where she’s coming from.

Now with the informations I have, the work has just begun…

Abdul Salim Harun: Be Rational And Give Credit Where Due

I had a very good laugh this morning. Why? Received a pm from someone asking whether I had switch to the other side!

I deleted him off immediately from my friend list.

Just because I’m paying my respect to the Late Mr Lee Kuan Yew means I’m switching side? Are you an idiot to think that I’m so easily being swayed and bought? For goodness sake, go get a life!

I’m paying my respect to him because I will not deny the facts that he had build up Singapore to what it is today. And definitely, I will not deny the facts that there are also his bad policies which affected us as Singaporeans as a whole.

But now, he had passed away. Let’s give him the respect that he deserved as a statesman, for all that he has done for the good and well being of our belove Singapore! Is it so hard to even do that?

For the bad policies, isn’t it good now that he’s no longer with us and each and everyone of us can now work hard to correct all those wrongs that he had made?

You know, in this time of National Mourning, let us all be rational and not emotional. Nobody is perfect. Give the credit where it is due.
