  • Mengapa Seorang Mahasiswa Berusia 24 Tahun Jadi Security Guard?

Mengapa Seorang Mahasiswa Berusia 24 Tahun Jadi Security Guard?

  • 33 Year Old Certis Cisco Officer Died On Duty In Drink-Driving Accident, Malaysian Driver Arrested

33 Year Old Certis Cisco Officer Died On Duty In Drink-Driving Accident, Malaysian Driver Arrested

A 33-year-old on-duty Certis Cisco officer died on Friday morning (Feb 10) after he was knocked down by a car while trying to divert traffic at Tuas Checkpoint.

The accident happened at about 2.30am, and Lance Corporal (Auxiliary Police Force) Norman Samri was taken conscious to the National University Hospital where he died an hour later from his injuries.

A police spokesman said the 28-year-old male driver of the car was arrested for causing death by rash act and investigations are ongoing.

The Malaysian driver, who is believed to have been drink-driving, was arrested on the spot.

The Straits Times understands that when the accident happened, LCP Norman and two other auxiliary police officers (APOs) had been diverting traffic from the first lane of the three-lane road of the departure viaduct as a minor accident had occurred there.

The car was believed to have been speeding and swerving between lanes and did not slow down when it approached the APOs.

ST understands the trio tried to jump out of the car’s way, but LCP Norman was hit and landed a distance away.

He suffered head injuries and died later in hospital.

When contacted, an Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) spokesman said: “The ICA extends our deepest condolences to the family of the late officer and is working with Certis Cisco to provide necessary assistance to the family.”

The ICA spokesman added that she was unable to comment further on details of the accident as police investigations are ongoing.

  • Former Certis Cisco Convicted For Playing Russian Roulette With Service Revolver

Former Certis Cisco Convicted For Playing Russian Roulette With Service Revolver

A former auxiliary police officer from Certis Cisco who fired his revolver in a game akin to Russian roulette was convicted on Tuesday (Jan 24) of committing a rash act endangering human life.

Gregory Lai Kar Jun, 23, was on duty at Tuas Checkpoint on Aug 13, 2015, when he emptied the revolver of five bullets and placed them on a table. He loaded the weapon with one bullet, pointed the revolver towards the ground and squeezed the trigger.

When nothing happened, he squeezed the trigger again. This time, the weapon fired. Lai had fired the weapon in a confined space – a small room measuring about 2.7m by 1.7m with his colleague standing about 1m away.

Lai and his colleague Muhammad Dzul Adhar, then corporals with security firm Certis Cisco, found the spent round and hid it inside a traffic wand. To cover up his tracks, Lai went to a restroom at the checkpoint and threw a second bullet into a toilet bowl.

The next day, he reported the loss of two bullets to the Tuas Checkpoint operations room.

In the meantime, Dzul agreed to help Lai dispose of the spent round. He transferred the bullet from the traffic wand to a cigarette box, before throwing the round into Bedok Reservoir in the early hours of Aug 14, 2015.

Dzul was last year jailed for three weeks and fined S$2,000 for intentionally obstructing the course of justice and for failing to give information to the police about Lai’s crime.

  • Certis Cisco Officer Reveals Low Pay And Excessive OT Hours

Certis Cisco Officer Reveals Low Pay And Excessive OT Hours

The government keeps saying that Singaporeans don’t want the jobs, like in this Certis Cisco case. They turn to foreigners because no Singaporeans can do the jobs. I want to prove a point that the reason why Singaporeans keep resigning is because of low pay and very bad working conditions.

When I signed on, I was promised a pay package in a contract black and white, but the company always finds ways to pay me lesser. I am a Singaporean and i don’t mind the long hours of work, in fact i requested for OT. But they are not giving what I deserve.

You can see how many hours I worked in November.

Today they say that they need 600 APOs but cannot find enough Singaporeans, so they hire 120 Taiwanese. They say Singaporeans don’t want the job so they no choice, must find foreigners. Such a big lie when they make Singaporeans resign by shortchaging them.

Above is the contract they promised in august and 2nd photo is part of my pay slip for last mth Nov 2016.

This is how Certis Cisco treats Singaporean Auxiliary Police Officers  (armed) which they claimed to be short of. Ironic much?

Now you know why they short?
