  • Lelaki Tinggalkan Isteri Dan Kahwin Ibu Mertuanya Kini Menyesal, Mahu Cerai

Lelaki Tinggalkan Isteri Dan Kahwin Ibu Mertuanya Kini Menyesal, Mahu Cerai

  • Malaysia IGP: After India & Bangladesh, IGP Will Review Zakir Naik’s Sermons

Malaysia IGP: After India & Bangladesh, IGP Will Review Zakir Naik’s Sermons

KUALA LUMPUR — Malaysia’s police chief announced today he will review all of Dr Zakir Naik’s sermons made in India and Bangladesh after the two South Asian countries launched investigations into the controversial Islamist preacher said to have inspired an attack on a Dhaka cafe last week.

“I will comment when I have seen what he actually said in India/Bangladesh,” Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar told Malay Mail Online in a text message this evening when contacted.

He indicated that he will then consider the appropriate action to take if he finds that Dr Zakir’s speeches contain elements that could be seen as promoting terrorism.

India’s National Investigation Agency is reportedly preparing to question the Mumbai-based preacher following claims he had inspired five gunmen to attack the Holey Artisan Bakery in Dhaka that killed 22 people, including the attackers.

Bangladeshi Information Minister Hassanul Haq Inu also reportedly said his country’s legal experts were looking into Dr Zakir’s speeches.

Rohan Imtiaz and Nibras Islam were two of the five Dhaka gunmen who were reportedly inspired by Dr Zakir, with Rohan allegedly posting on Facebook a quote he attributed to the preacher that “every Muslim should be a terrorist”.

The head of the Hyderabad chapter of global terror group Islamic State, Mohammad Ibrahim Yazdani, has attributed Dr Zakir’s teachings as the basis for his venture into militancy.

Dr Zakir reputedly has 14 million followers on Facebook and 200 million viewers of his Peace TV channel.

He was welcomed by the Malaysian government in April this year and held a week-long series of sermons and has been praised as a “very wise man”,  received tributes from the government including the prestigious “Tokoh Maal Hijrah” award in 2013 and was reportedly gifted three islands in Lake Kenyir from the Terengganu government.

In the wake of the global controversy, Deputy Home Minister Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed has now advised Malaysians not to blindly accept the teachings of preachers whom he said may just want popularity.

Thousands Signs Petition To Help Sisters Sentenced To Gang Rape

Over 120,000 signatures have been collected for a petition to help two sisters from India who were sentenced to be gang raped by their village elders.

The sentence was handed down by a council of men in the village of Sankrot in Baghpat district, Uttar Pradesh, on July 30 after the girls’ brother eloped with a married woman from a higher caste.

According to The Telegraph, the man’s family is said to be from the “Dalit” caste, known as the “untouchables”, while the woman is from the “Jat caste”.

Meenakshi Kumari, 23, and her 15-year-old sister, who has not been named, had been sentenced to be raped and paraded naked with their faces blackened, for their brother’s crime, reportedTime.com.

They ran away to the capital and submitted a petition for protection to the Supreme Court, but face arrest if they return home, said Mail Online.

A petition to demand justice for the sisters was started by human rights group Amnesty International.

On its site, the group said: “Nothing could justify this abhorrent punishment. It’s not fair. It’s not right. And it’s against the law. Demand that the local authorities intervene immediately.”

  • 68 Year Old Uncle Shows Singaporeans The Right Way To Treat Foreign Workers

68 Year Old Uncle Shows Singaporeans The Right Way To Treat Foreign Workers

Witnessed a heartwarming incident on the train at Raffles Place before peak hour this evening involving an uncle and a construction worker who had scooted down some seats to make way for Singaporeans.

Uncle to worker: “Hey you can sit down… You don’t always have to give up your seat, especially not to men on the train. You come here to build our homes so you can sit also you know?”

The worker at first puzzled by the interaction digests what he means and breaks into a sweet and winning smile. I can’t really hear the next exchange but then I see the worker whipping out his mobile phone to take a selfie with the uncle.

    Uncle And Foreign Workers 1

The uncle continues chatting with him… he points to the train map overhead and dishes out advice and instructions on how to navigate Singapore’s transport network, honing in on Little India in particular. He asks: “Do you know which bus you can take if you get off at that station?”

    Uncle And Foreign Workers 2

Later I learn from the “uncle”, Mr Rimy Lau, 68, who used to work in the hotel line, that the worker, Saravanan Samidurai, 28, has been in Singapore for just three days and he just wanted to him to feel welcome.

“They come here to work. This is how we can take care of them,” said Mr Lau.
