    Mum Dies In Jurong Accident But Doctors Saved The Premature Baby Girl

    The six-month pregnant woman, from Johor, was walking to the market with her mother-in-law when she was knocked down by a lorry in Singapore.

    Doctors managed to save the premature baby of a Malaysian woman killed in a road accident in Singapore.

    The Straits Times said the six-month pregnant woman, from Johor, was crossing the road with her mother-in-law on Saturday morning when she was hit by a lorry turning out from a carpark in Jurong.

    Goh Chieh Ting, 25, was taken to hospital but it was too late to save her, the daily said.

    But doctors performed an emergency Caesarean and saved the baby, a girl.

    “The baby is healthy and large for her age,” Yau Siew Mek, 64, who is the baby’s grandaunt, told the daily.

    The baby has been kept for observation at the Ng Teng Fong Hospital.

    Goh had been holding hands with her mother-in-law, on their way to the market after breakfast, when the accident took place at 8am.

    She had apparently been staying for some time with her parents-in-law.

    Man, 26, Charged With Committing Sex Offences Involving At Least 10 Underage Boys

    A 26-year-old man was charged on Tuesday with committing sex offences involving at least 10 underaged boys.

    Goh Jun Guan faces 30 charges involving boys who were aged between 10 and 15 years old at the time.

    The alleged offences, which took place between 2012 and 2014, include giving and receiving oral sex from some of the boys as well as touching the genitals of some and getting them to touch his.

    He also stands accused of persuading some of the boys to send him photos of their genitals or videos of themselves masturbating, and of sending them similar photos and videos of himself via WhatsApp.

    These alleged acts happened at a different locations, including public toilets in Jurong West Public Library, Pioneer Mall, and Jurong Point Shopping Centre.

    For each count of sexually penetrating or being sexually penetrated by a boy under 14 years of age, Goh could be jailed up to 20 years and also fined or caned.

    For each count of procuring the commission of obscene acts by the boys, he could be jailed up to five years, fined up to $10,000, or both, on the first conviction.

    Welder Helps Nab Molest Suspect In Jurong

    He had just exited a supermarket when he heard a woman shouting for help.

    Mr Amirul Islam, 26, witnessed a man fleeing the scene at Jurong West Street 93.

    Fearing that the woman might have been robbed, Mr Amirul went up to her to find out what had happened.

    The 42-year-old woman said she had been molested and asked if he could help catch the man.

    Mr Amirul​, a welder from Bangladesh, told The New Paper over the phone: “I thought, ‘I must catch him.’”

    He and off-duty police officer Soh Beng Kuan chased the man for a short distance before nabbing him near a playground.

    Police arrived soon after and arrested the 25-year-old man.

    ‘Why is this man running?’

    The incident happened at about 11.15pm on Saturday (June 6).

    Mr Amirul​​ said he had just left Prime Supermarket and was heading back to Blue Stars Dormitory at Kian Teck Lane when he saw a man and a woman.

    “The woman shouted, ‘Help! Help!’” said Mr Amirul​​.

    “I asked her, “Sister, what’s happening? Why is this man running? Did he steal your hand phone or bag?”

    Mr Amirul​​ said the woman told him that the man had touched her body and asked if he could help catch the person.

    ‘Forgive me, I go home’

    After he was caught, the suspect pleaded with Mr Amirul​​ and the woman for forgiveness.

    Mr Amirul​​ recalled: “He said, ‘Sorry, sorry. My fault… Forgive me, I go home.’”

    The man claimed he had lost control of himself after drinking too much, said Mr Amirul.

    Police said in a statement on Monday (June 8) that investigations against the suspect are ongoing.

    The offence of Outrage of Modesty carries a jail term of up to two years or a fine. Those found guilty are also liable to caning.
