  • Man Jailed Three Weeks For Taking Video Of Co-Tenant Showering

Man Jailed Three Weeks For Taking Video Of Co-Tenant Showering

A 48-year-old man was jailed three weeks on Monday for taking a video of his co-tenant when she was showering.

The incident took place on Dec 23 last year, around 12am.

The Malaysian and the victim were co-tenants in a HDB flat along New Upper Changi Road.

The victim, who cannot be named as there is a gag order, was about to put on her clothes after showering when she noticed a hand holding a mobile phone over the toilet door.

There was a gap between the toilet door and the ceiling, and the mobile phone was pointed towards the interior of the toilet.

After the victim shouted, her co-tenant withdrew his hand.

When she went out of the toilet, she noticed that he was seated five metres away from the toilet area and was fiddling with his phone, which was in camera mode.

She then took his phone away, and called the police.

Investigations showed that the man had heard the victim going into the toilet and knew she was showering as he heard the sound of running water. He went outside the toilet and took a video of her, but deleted the footage when she confronted him.

For insulting the modesty of a woman, he could have been jailed up to one year and fined.

  • Another Malaysian IS Member Abdul Samad Shukry Mohamad Dies

Another Malaysian IS Member Abdul Samad Shukry Mohamad Dies

PETALING JAYA: The escalating fight in Syria has taken the life of another Malaysian militant, named Abdul Samad Shukry Mohamad (pic).

The 55-year-old former Jemaah Ismiyah member, also known as Abu Aisyah, was injured in an attack by Syrian forces five months ago but succumbed to his injuries.

“He went to Syria on February 1 last year. Then five months ago, he sustained severe leg injury after being bombed by (Syrian president Bashar) Assad forces.

“It is believed that he was brought for treatment in Turkey but complications suffered during an operation led to his death,” a source said on Thursday.

Abu Aisyah is believed to be the sixth Malaysian killed in the ongoing IS conflict in Syria.

The news of Abu Aisyah’s death has received messages of condolences from friends and acquaintances on social media.

In a Facebook posting, a fellow militant said Abu Aisyah, who was a former Internal Security Act (ISA) detainee was a martyr.

“He died after the surgery following a long battle against severe pain in his leg, inflicted during an attack in Arzay about five months ago.

“Abu Aisyah was a good friend of Ustaz Mat (Mohd Lotfi Ariffin) who arrived together with him in Syria,” he said.

In May, Ahmad Tarmimi Maliki became the country’s first suicide bomber when he rammed a vehicle full of explosives into a SWAT headquarters in Iraq, killing 25 police personnel.  Ahmad Tarmimi is believed to be fighting under the banner of the Islamic State.

In December, Ahmad Affendi Abdull Manaff, 27, also known as Abu Zakaria was reported to have died after driving an explosive-laden truck  into an army camp in Homs, Syria, killing about 50 soldiers from Syrian president 50 Bashar Al-Assad’s army.

Abu Turab, whose real name is Mat Soh, was the first Malaysian militant to be killed in Syria in Aug 19, while defending the town of Arzeh.

On September 9, Mohammad Fadhlan Shahidi Mohammad Khir, 21, from Kedah, was in a truck when he was hit by shrapnel and fell out of the speeding vehicle during an ambush on rebels on 9 Sept 2014 in east Hama.

The attack also took the life of former Internal Security Act (ISA) detainee Mohd Lotfi Ariffin, 45, who died after falling into a coma following the assault.

Abu Aisyah, Mohd Lotfi, Fadhlan and Abu Turab are not believed to be working alongside the Islamic State.

  • 14 Year Old Girl Arrested In Malaysia For Trying To Join IS

14 Year Old Girl Arrested In Malaysia For Trying To Join IS

KUALA LUMPUR (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK): Police have detained a 14-year-old girl suspected of trying to join the Islamic State terror group.

The girl, who is from Muar, was arrested by the Bukit Aman Special Branch Counter Terrorism Division before she could board a Cairo-bound flight at KL International Airport at about 7.30pm on Tuesday.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said the girl was planning to marry a 22-year-old Malaysian student in Cairo.

Both of them would then go to Istanbul before securing passage to Syria.

“We discovered that she had been in contact with two Malaysian militants based in Syria. We will investigate further to uncover the mastermind behind the recruitment of Malaysian girls for the IS,” he said in a statement yesterday.

“We will not allow Malaysia to be used as a training ground or hideout for terrorists and militants. Anyone in support or in league with any terrorist will be detained.”

The girl was arrested under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012.

Intelligence sources said the girl’s would-be husband is a student at Cairo’s Al-Azhar University.

It is learnt that the girl, who studied at a tahfiz institute in Shah Alam, had attempted to go to Cairo without her family’s consent. She had even threatened to kill herself if her parents did not let her go.

“The girl was hard-headed when interrogated by Bukit Aman officers,” a source said.

The latest arrest brings the number of people linked to terrorism arrested in Malaysia to 68 since February 2013.

Among those arrested were navy and air force personnel and civil servants, including an Energy, Green Technology and Water Ministry officer.

Sources said the trend of Malaysians joining the IS was continuing despite the arrests.

Just last month, a young Malaysian couple, with their infant son, managed to elude the authorities to go to Syria to join the terror group.

“They went to Bangkok before taking a flight to Istanbul. They then entered Syria via a land route,” a source said.

It is believed that the family went to Syria late last month.

Bukit Aman is still hunting five known militants who are believed to have links to IS and the Abu Sayyaf terror group based in the Philippines.

Khalid urged anyone with information on the militants to contact the nearest police station or the counter-terrorism division at 03-2266 7010 or 011-2104 6850, or e-mail [email protected].

  • Beware of Durian Scam By Malaysians

Beware of Durian Scam By Malaysians

    Dear TRS,

I wanna share about this conman!

Happened to me last week at Woodlands HDB. He cheated my mom to buy 4 durians that cost $252!

He’s rounding at HDB block for people to buy his durian. But will come back with his ‘guni’ bags of durians.

    He’ll tell you 1kg cost $15.

He will say once he peeled the skin, must take. He will keep on peeling the skin. Until the fourth one, he’ll take the weight of the durian and tell you the cost!

Ridiculously, for my mum case, cost $252!

He even ask my mum to go to atm! My mum paid him $50 and went to the atm. That’s when i decided to call the police. He even dared to make sure that my mum went to the atm.

He will keep on pestering for the money! I’d reported to the police! He is believed to be a malaysian man. Cause he say he’ll leave his passport at your house, to drive you to the atm. But my mum prefer to go by herself. And he drive a blue malaysian plate car.

If anyone saw this guy, do not hesitate to inform police!

I am not the only victim either, I have seen this facebook post being circulated and wanted to also share my experience:
