  • Heng Swee Keat Lucid, Making Progress

Heng Swee Keat Lucid, Making Progress

Visited Heng Swee Keat in the TTSH Neuro ICU at NNI this evening. Delighted to find him recovering well, and making steady progress. He was fully lucid, communicative, and cheerful.

The doctors are happy too. But they have advised Swee Keat not to receive visitors yet, so that he can get as much rest as possible.

I told him we had made arrangements to look after his residents in Tampines while he recuperates. He gave me two thumbs up. 🙂

Swee Keat wants to thank everyone for their support. He especially sends his greetings and best wishes to his Tampines residents and volunteers, who have been asking after him. – LHL

  • Nor Lella Yakin NSP Bariskan Calon Yang Kuat

Nor Lella Yakin NSP Bariskan Calon Yang Kuat

  • Illegal Display Of PAP Flags In Tampines GRC In Violation Of Elections Act?

Illegal Display Of PAP Flags In Tampines GRC In Violation Of Elections Act?

    Dear Editors,

PAP has violated the Election advertisement laws and it looks like they may get away with it. I refer to this photo:

    https://www.facebook.com/SinRakSinParty/photos/a.308021379315957.73097.295323107252451/803777386407018/?type=1&theater

Why are PAP flags being put up alongside the National flags in Tampines GRC? This photo was taken at Heng Swee Keat’s ward. The PAP flags were spotted near Block 842 in Tampines.

Soon after the photo was posted online on that site, PAP removed their flag as fast as they could, and this is how the place looks like now:

The parliament has yet to be dissolved but PAP is already campaigning with their flag out. Are they campaigning with the slogan “PAP = Singapore, remember that as you celebrate SG50“?

Can opposition parties also hang their banners in the GRCs where they are contesting? Can hang beside the Singapore flag too? I strongly believe that the PAP has violated the Elections Act, with regards to the election advertisement laws.

It is not yet nomination day but PAP is already hanging their flag.

Furthermore, they haven’t received a permit from the Returning Officer to put up their banners and flags. The PAP branch responsible for this should be taken to task and punished to the fullest extent of the law!

  • Desmond Choo Returns To NTUC, Likely To Take Over Mah Bow Tan

Desmond Choo Returns To NTUC, Likely To Take Over Mah Bow Tan

Mr Desmond Choo is rejoining the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC).

The 37-year-old, who resigned from NTUC in May 2013 as its deputy director of industrial relations, is set to make a comeback as NTUC’s new director of youth development next month, after a foray into the private sector.

Besides the new post, he will also be appointed deputy director of industrial relations, and will be involved in other aspects of union work such as implementing wage ladders for industry sectors, said NTUC in a statement.

Mr Choo quit after failing to win the Hougang single constituency seat in the 2011 General Election, and again in the 2012 By-election.

While his return to NTUC could see Mr Choo being fielded again by the People’s Action Party (PAP) as a labour candidate at the next General Election, it is unlikely that he will be returning to contest the Hougang seat, which has been a Worker’s Party stronghold since 1991.

In September last year, Mr Choo was named as the second adviser to grassroots organisations in Tampines East, a ward in Tampines GRC. The ward’s MP is former national development minister Mah Bow Tan, 67, who stepped down from the Cabinet after the 2011 elections.
