5-Year Jail Time For For Anyone Who Celebrates Christmas In Brunei

Earlier in April, the rest of the world condemned monarch-ruled Brunei after announcing the introduction of the Sharia penal code that would include penalties such as the severing of limbs and death by stoning.

The tiny but prosperous state on the island of Borneo that is ruled by Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah,  has now made international headlines once again after the state announced a ban on Christmas.

The ban was declared on the internationally celebrated Christian holiday because the religious affairs ministry said that publicly marking non-Islamic rituals or festivities could be seen as propagations of religions other than Islam.

Roughly 20 per cent of Brunei’s residents comprise of non-Muslims, including sizeable Buddhist and Christiancommunities.

Believers of other religions that live under the rule of an Islamic country – according to Islam – may practice their religion or celebrate their religious festivities among their community, with the condition that the celebrations are not disclosed or displayed publicly to Muslims,

Muslims should be careful not to follow celebrations such as these that are not in any way related to Islam… and could unknowingly damage the faith of Muslims.‘ Said the government of Brunei in a statement.

The statement also noted that businesses that publicly displayed Christmas decorations would be asked to take them down– to which the businesses had given their ‘full cooperation’ in the matter.

The penalty for celebrating Christmas in Brunei is punishable with a jail term of up to 5-years.

Brunei’s latest decision to ban Christmas officially will no doubt, attract more international criticism- following the harsh Sharia penal code that was announced to be implemented in the state in April by Brunei’s 68-year-old Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah.

Amos Yee: Moderate Muslims F*****G Hypocrites, ISIS True Practitioners Of Islam

Muslims are speaking up against the law that I’m about to be charged for, yay! Wait what? Why the fuck would they do that? Child-fucking allah would be very displeased.

What in the world is a ‘moderate muslim’? A fucking hypocrite that’s what. The truth of the matter is that what isis has been doing and what these ‘moderate muslims’ considers ‘extremist interpretation of the theology’, is what muslims should be doing if they claim they follow the koran. Those people aren’t the extremists, you guys are the underachievers really. All these ‘non-extreme’ religious people who fap to their holy book but aren’t liable for a murder charge, have to deal with so many contradictions, lying to both other people and themselves every day to feebly preserve their delusion. It must be really hard isn’t it? You ‘moderate muslims’ or ‘semi-partial christians’?

I’m pretty disappointed when christians and muslims claim that they are not offended by my comments. They fucking should be, I condemned your disgusting beliefs and viciously explained how everything you have lived for is utter bullshit. You should get depression and cry yourself to sleep.

The truth is that these religious pricks are offended, but either don’t want to admit it, or want to ‘forgive’ me (which you can’t really ‘forgive’ someone who hasn’t done anything wrong. You should ask for my forgiveness, but I’m not going to forgive you for being a flying-horse believer), but that doesn’t mean your wee-little feelings didn’t get hurt.

And TOC, fuck you, stop perpetuating this misconception that the main thing I’m going to be arrested for is probably the passing remark on the calvin cheng blog post. I know you really want to because calvin cheng was a dick and linking me to him would help create more displeasure towards the government blah blah blah. But bitch, don’t straitstimes yourself like how you did with molester vincent law (https://amosyee.wordpress.com/…/the-molestation-of-vincent…/).

The heavier sentence (if those police cunts catch me ah-hah!) will more likely be for this Facebook post (https://m.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=985786234801314&id=286808914699053&refid=52) and even more so than the calvin cheng one, this post I’m writing right now. You should bring attention to these more stinging diatribes, then more halal-snorters will read them and get hurt; burn those paedophile lovers to the ground.

I know after writing this, alternative media folks are feeling really uncomfortable, because it’s as if I’m harming my own ‘side’ and making your job harder to win over support for my case. But don’t worry, there’ll be plenty of other things that will happen that you can exploit to your favor, but unlike you, I’m willing to compromise the level of effectiveness in fucking the government, for being honest (and in the long-term it will serve me much better believe me).

Therefore, screw hypocrisy, jesus christ and allah did not exist, fuck you christians and fuck you sand-loving muslims.

  • Statement By Mufti Ismail Menk

    Statement By Mufti Ismail Menk

    STATEMENT BY MUFTI MENK

I am deeply touched by the outpouring of care and support since the incident in Singapore, where my permit to speak at a conference was not approved.

I was informed just over a week before the event that the speaking permit did not come through. The organizers told me they would make an appeal. I travelled to Singapore nonetheless and on the eve of the event, the appeal was unsuccessful.

I did not attend the conference and left that night for Sri Lanka.

In the interim, many things have been said about me and rumours have been flying around. Many are factually wrong.

As these comments have reached international audiences, I have no choice but to react to this and to explore my legal options. I am not interested in monetary compensation. I just want to stop the baseless allegations which I believe have been made to harm my reputation.

I have never preached anything but peace. My work is up on public platforms for all to see.

I have been speaking in Singapore since 2012 and I am looking forward to going back there for future talks. I want to thank all of you for your love and concern.

May the Almighty protect and guide us all. Aameen

  • Hazrul A. Jamari: Authorities Must Take More Nuanced Approach Or Lose Goodwill Of Muslim Community, Organisers Must Be More Accountable

Hazrul A. Jamari: Authorities Must Take More Nuanced Approach Or Lose Goodwill Of Muslim Community, Organisers Must Be More Accountable

There are many sides to a story. We are ultimately responsible to weed out the lies and half truths so that we can get to the bottom of things. Here are my opinions of the saga that has captured the Muslim community lately.

    1. Adab is paramount. Even if one disagrees, a certain level of decorum is expected among Muslims.

    2. Regardless of whatever sources of truth, the ultimate standard is never to takfir any person who is a Muslim. In this respect I find the group of asatizahs and Muslims who are anti-Wahabbi guilty of the very things some of the extremists are guilty of. To use Islamic text as an excuse to perform takfir on another set of Muslims. This ultimately creates unrest and division.

    3. Whether or not Wahabbi ideology is correct is a discussion for another day. What’s important is has the Islamic personality admitted he is one? Assuming that Wahabbi ideology is bad or evil, if it is, has he preached any evil?

    4. There must be a distinction between a Salafi and a Wahabbi. A Salafi considers being called Wahabbi derogatory. Salafis according to anthropological opinion are made up of purists, politically activists and jihadists, the first two completely disagreeing with the jihadists. The jihadists are in fact in the minority. Whereas Salafi purists preach good and peace and are apolitical or politically passive compared to the other types. I am in the opinion Mufti Menk, if he is a Salafi, falls under the purists category. He has preached nothing but peace.

    5. Definitely we must root out extremism in our society. But must the targets be indiscriminate? I think this is the mistake by the security apparatus to perceive a speaker of ultimate credentials and popularity as a security threat. Without actual hard proofs a ban on the personality is counter-productive to the good will between the state and the Muslim population. It creates distrust between them and is likely to influence perceptions that the state mistrusts the Muslim population and would prefer to exercise control and dictate the kind of Muslims that we should be.

    6. Organizers of such religious talks must be held into higher accountability. They should not market or advertise if they have not secured a license and even if they do, they need to be transparent with what steps they did. For example, assuming that it was necessary to market the conference without a confirmation of the license, the Organiser must be upfront with the public that the license is being applied and the availability of the personality is pending the approval of such licenses. Otherwise, even if the organizers are well meaning and have good credibility, as long as they were not transparent from the point of marketing to sale, people will likely express their disappointment. As they say, you can take ages to build credibility. But it takes only seconds to lose it.
