Anggota Parlimen Rahayu Mahzam Selamat Bersalin Anak Lelaki Bernama Muhamad Ayden

    BEREHAT 2 BULAN

    EDITOR’S NOTE

Apparently, the couple and the company they own have scammed several victims since 2014 where we had a similar post about the scam. It is likely that they have been arrested based on photos taken from https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=332106030525901&id=332104343859403. Photos of the couple is also available here.

Sadly, cheating companies can continue operating and they can even turn an occasional profit.

Do a keyword search for the company and include the term “scam” and you’ll find all of the complaints about shoddy products and substandard service. And yes, those are the ones you want to avoid. Right about now, you should also look out for “Sharlyne / Andre / Sherie / Reshea Carpentry Design Works/ Carpentry Interior Works Pte Ltd” when looking for renovation company to engage their services.

Have you been cheated by this particular scammers or any other renovation companies? Share your encounter with us at Rilek1Corner.

  • The Day I Got Drenched At Kampong Gelam

The Day I Got Drenched At Kampong Gelam

THE DAY I GOT DRENCHED AT KAMPONG GELAM

#MYFsg office is located at 62A Arab Street, in the heart of Kampong Gelam. It is just 2 minutes walk to Sultan Mosque. I was often asked why I chose that location. To me, its a no brainer. It is a centralised youth hotspot.

Today, I found out that its not just that.

Throughout our stay in Kampong Gelam, there have been several funeral prayers conducted at Sultan Mosque for prominent community leaders who spent their life in His servitude, whose legacies helped set Singapore on a path of peace and progress. At MYF, we have a culture encouraging each other to take time to pay our last respect to our pioneer leaders, regardless of their fields. I didn’t think much of of it, then.

Just recently, the nation laid to rest one of its first-generation leaders, the late Mr Othman Wok. The funeral prayer was conducted at Sultan Mosque. The congregation itself was filled with changemakers, old and young. The sky teared heavily the moment when the casket was being transported in the pouring rain to a gun carriage to begin its journey to the burial site.

Witnessing the moment barely 5 metres away, its was solemn, drenched.

That moment, I realised the reason God placed me in Kampong Gelam.

He wants me to constantly be reminded of the contributions made by our pioneer leaders. The prosperity today could not be achieved without their sacrifices. More than I know, I needed these moments to gather strength to be steadfast in courage and passion into creating a better life, a better tomorrow for the community.

I was also reminded that there are no such thing as retirement on the path of service. You simply serve till your last breath and may our death too benefits the community, triggering reflection and repentance. When that day come, we can only hope that the next generation is ready to carry on the torch. Moving faster than us. Breaking more things than us.

It is up to us to live up to the legacy that was left for us, and to leave a legacy that is worthy of our children and of future generations.

It is no longer a question of how much we believe we owe those living in the future, not just our own children or grandchildren, but the generations of people who will come long after we are gone.

  • Woodleigh MRT Scare: Running Group Used Flour To Mark Out Jogging Trail

Woodleigh MRT Scare: Running Group Used Flour To Mark Out Jogging Trail

The three men assisting the police with investigations over the white substance left at Woodleigh MRT Station on Tuesday (April 18) are joggers from a running group, The Straits Times has learnt.

ST understands that the trio were helping to mark a trail before the main run took place.

A 69-year-old man was arrested for an offence of public nuisance on Tuesday. Hours later, the police said two other men – aged 53 and 70 – were also assisting in investigations.

ST understands that all three are locals and that they are part of a running group: Seletar Hash House Harriers.

According to its website, Seletar Hash House Harriers was established in 1980.

The website lists a run on Tuesday (April 18) at 5.30pm from Block 150, Serangoon North Avenue 2.

In its description, the Seletar Hash House Harriers wrote that they are a “running/drinking/social club which was started by bored expatriates in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in 1938”.

It went on to explain that hashing is where runners set a course in advance of other runners by marking out a trail with white flour, toilet paper and or chalk marks.

Hashing has been done in other countries such as the United States.

In 2007, two people who sprinkled flour in a parking lot for their “hash” run sparked a bioterrorism scare, NBC News reported.

A cleaner had found the flour sprinkled at various parts of the station, MP Melvin Yong, who is also executive secretary of the National Transport Workers’ Union (NTWU), said in a Facebook post on Tuesday.

The station was closed for about three hours and the Singapore Civil Defence Force dispatched HazMat officers to the scene.

The incident comes more than two weeks after Hougang MRT Station was briefly shut down due to security concerns over an unattended bag.

A 39-year-old man was arrested in that instance, which occurred on April 2.

  • ASEAN Football Federation Contradicts FAS Regarding $500,000 Donation By Bill Ng

ASEAN Football Federation Contradicts FAS Regarding $500,000 Donation By Bill Ng

The Asean Football Federation (AFF) has contradicted earlier statements by the Football Association of Singapore regarding a $500,000 donation by Bill Ng.

The FAS had previously said that it was former FAS president Zainudin Nordin, who had approached Ng with a proposal to support the AFF’s Football Management System (FMS), and that Ng had decided to donate the money directly to AFF through a soccer club that he owns.

“It is clear that the amount of $500,000 was never meant to be donated to the FAS or any Singapore footballing activity… This was not a case of FAS accepting a donation and thereafter channeling the amount to AFF instead of using it for local football.” – FAS

FAS provided a quote which it claimed was from“an AFF spokesman” saying:“We are thankful to our donors and partners who have come onboard to support this new programme, including one of the FA Singapore NFL clubs who donated S$500,000 towards the system.”

Team Game Changers which is led by Ng and will be contesting the FAS elections on April 29, issued a four-page statement yesterday to refute the FAS’ assertions. Read their press statement here: http://www.theindependent.sg/we-are-here-to-serve-singapore-football.

The following is a press release by the AFF in full.

PETALING JAYA (17 April 2017) – As a result of various queries from the media on the subject of the FMS, the AFF would like to clarify particularly on the system.

The Asean Football Federation (AFF) Football Management System is an initiative aimed at enhancing the capabilities of football associations and clubs which will then better position them to achieve success in key result areas including but not limited to income generation, information technology, corporate governance, and facilities utilization, among others.

The sharing of resources among football associations in this region will strengthen ongoing efforts aimed at raising the standards of football management in Southeast Asia. We are in the last phase of preparations and we expect to launch the system within the next nine to 12 months.

The AFF Council members were informed at the 3 Council Meeting held on 6 December 2015, that the FA Singapore had donated a sum of SGD500,000 on 4 November 2015 as a payment to develop the System. The Council recorded its thanks and appreciation to FA Singapore for their effort to make the project a reality.
