  • Breadtalk’s ‘Freshly-Prepared’ Soya Bean Milk Is Just Freshly Transferred And Sold At Mark-Up

Breadtalk’s ‘Freshly-Prepared’ Soya Bean Milk Is Just Freshly Transferred And Sold At Mark-Up

KEV: Made a shocking discovery recently about the supposedly “freshly prepared” soya bean milk sold at BreadTalk. Sometimes it’s better to see with your own eyes how things are made rather than believe all the marketing slogans that the companies throw at you.

This “freshly prepared” soya bean milk from BreadTalk always tasted very familiar, but somehow I couldn’t figure out why until now. You see for yourself why. This BreadTalk staff is just pouring Yeo’s soya bean milk into bottles of “freshly prepared” soya bean sold by BreadTalk.

How much is BreadTalk earning from all this? One packet can fill about 3 to 4 bottles. One packet cost S$1.50 at NTUC, not including any bulk buy discount from companies. One bottle of “freshly prepared” soya bean milk at BreadTalk is sold for S$1.80. You go and do the math.

The worse part is not the money, it is that if BreadTalk advertises “freshly prepared” soya bean then it should give us the real deal, not some packet soya bean “freshly prepared” by just transferring into a bottle and selling for mark-up prices. Singapore company does this to Singaporeans while coming up with all sorts of wayang “Happy SG50″ specials, this is damn too much.

Support local companies? Won’t be buying from them anymore.

  • Singaporean Tower Crane Operator Terminated For Exposing Unsafe Construction Practices At Punggol HDB Site

Singaporean Tower Crane Operator Terminated For Exposing Unsafe Construction Practices At Punggol HDB Site

    Hi Gilbert

I’m Edward a Singaporean tower crane operator.

My salary is only $2500 but I was terminated by my company for exposing unsafe practices at my construction site.at Punggol after started working in April this year.

I have observed the way foreign workers built our HDB BTO in a very wrong way.

Recently, I  read about the defective BTO issue and know that I can no longer keep quiet about this because one day I’ll stay in one of this too.

Please advise which is the proper channel I can raise my concern to.

Even after water was added from the cement truck they continue to add water during casting when the bucket reach the top.

Mixing of water can only  be done in the cement plant and when it reaches the site no more water should be added to it.

The quality of the cement must be inspected and approved by the RTO before it can be use to cast our floor, ceiling and even pillars.

My signal men also knew I took photo of their reckless unsafe hoisting procedures and they threatened that I’m not allow to report or expose any photos taken to MOM or related authorities.

Editor’s note: the writer’s last day was on 31st July after he was terminated for trying to expose the unsafe malpractices of the sub con Hong Dat Engineering Pte Ltd. The writer has written to MOM about the matter.

Man Dies After Collapsing While Playing In Amateur Football Match

A middle-aged man died in hospital on Sunday afternoon (Aug 2), after collapsing while playing in an amateur football match at the Home United Youth Football Academy (HYFA) at Mattar Road earlier in the day.

The man, whose name was not revealed to the media, was believed to have been playing a match organised by a popular amateur football league in Singapore prior to his collapse.

Home United Football Club, which runs the HYFA, said in a statement yesterday: “On 2 August at 1238hrs, the Home United Youth Football Academy (HYFA) Operations Manager, who was on duty, was informed that a player had collapsed at HYFA Pitch 12.

  • My Children Almost Fell Out Of GrabCar Vehicle

My Children Almost Fell Out Of GrabCar Vehicle

    Dear all,

I booked from ‪#‎GrabCar‬ SKP8502B driver Ong Seng Thye H/p: 91075682/81389062 using his private car earlier this evening at about 6pm from Clementi Mall back home. I was with my husb, my helper & 2 kids.

Along the way, my son pulled the left passenger door handle. I wasn’t aware just by doing that it caused the door to open slightly even when it is locked. The driver pulled over by the side & my helper closed the door. He then said even if the door is locked it can still be open from the inside. My husb asked “then what’s the point of locking if it can still be open?”. He told my husb to give a try which he did & yes the door could be open after locking! He added the lock is to only prevent opening from the outside but not inside.

We continued our journey, my daughter who is seated at the right of the passenger seat then meddled with the door handle causing it to open slightly. This dont usually happen but after the commotion earlier she saw my helper & husb open & close the door she suddenly grab the door handle & pulled. Knowing this, the driver said “see now the right door open, if your daughter fall i dont know”. This time he did not stop the car instead he made a sharp and fast left turn & the right door fully opened. My daughter nearly fell off the car if I didn’t hold on to her! He only stopped the car when my husb asked him to. I closed the door quickly afterwards.

He commented saying he never had this kind of prob not once but twice the door accidentally opened. He told us our kids was the problem. After he dropped us off we paid the fare my husb asked him what was his prob. He said his prob was our kids. He even added that we didnt know how to educate our kids. My husb wasn’t happy of course asked him to step off the car. But he refused he said he was going to call the police. We then told him to call the police at that moment while we wait for them to arrive. But he insisted he will go and make a report himself.

Tried calling #GrabCar hotline but to no avail. On my part, a police report had been lodged by me. Is it my fault if his lock was faulty or whatever reason for it to open after locking? What do you expect in a 5 seater car with 4 adults(including driver) & 2 young kids aged 1 & 4? Purposely continuing driving & even made a sharp turned which caused my daughter to almost fall off the car is absurd!!! She could have fell off & hit the curb!

If the vehicle he is using is supplied by #GrabCar please look into the lock matter. Young kids are curious they will touch & meddle with everything and anything. So it is not surprising for them to meddle with the door handle. & knowing the door can be open from inside even when it is lock is very dangerous especially with young kids on board!

Today, i might be lucky my daughter didn’t fell off the car & hit the curb. But tomorrow it can happen to anyone else. This is not my first time booking under #GrabCar, i never had any kind of prob with the other drivers. DO NOT BOOK FROM ONG SENG THYE, SKP8502B!!

  • I Pray Secretly In Fear Of My Family

I Pray Secretly In Fear Of My Family

I am a Muslim revert from the Philippines. I was almost 17 when I reverted to Islam last year during the last day of Ramadan, alhamdullilah. Before I became a Muslim, I had faith issues. I stopped believing in Christianity due to many questions that popped up in my head that nobody could answer. I eventually gave up the idea of religion. I was almost at the edge of being an atheist until I found Islam, Alhamdullilah.

My family is devout Christian. I can say that my father is really against Islam, so I really have to hide it from them or else something might happen. Eventually, my family (except for my father) confronted me if I became a Muslim because they caught me praying at some occasions while wearing the hijab. I told them that I became a Muslim. They were so upset and told me so many bad things. They threatened me that they will tell my father if I don’t leave Islam. I was very afraid of that time so I told them that I will stop practicing Islam, but it is only to avoid any danger inshaAllah. Alhamdullilah, after what had happened, Allah has helped me to get through it. I only pray secretly as much as I can so they wouldn’t find out that I’m still a Muslim.

I’ve never been this happy and complete during my jahaliyyah (days of ignorance). Alhamdullilah Islam answered all of my questions. Knowing Allah is such a great honor to me and I couldn’t be more grateful to be one of His servants.

I am planning to wear the hijab in my university, insha’Allah. I know that this won’t be easy for me as it is my first time to wear it in front of everyone. I will be removing it when I go home, so my family won’t know it. Please keep me in your dua’a (prayer) that I can do it for Allah’s sake.

May Allah guide my family and the other non-Muslims as well to Islam, Ameen.
