Berlandaskan salah satu asas-asas tujuan Pertubuhan Kebangsaan Melayu Singapura(PKMS) iaitu memelihara dan mempertahankan agama Islam tanpa mengganggu hak lain-lain agama, PKMS amat prihatin tentang perhubungan sesama jantina atau kini digelar LGBT. Pergerakan mempromosi LGBT semakin lantang dan ia bercanggah dengan tabii semulajadi serta menggugat keturunan manusia.

Kehidupan di Singapura hari ini sangat terdedah dengan pengaruh yang kurang sihat sehinggakan pengaruh LGBT ini semakin menular dan cuba dikaitkan dengan kebebasan berkasih sayang tanpa batas.

Prinsip kebebasan individu yang tidak berteraskan Agama dan budaya dijadikan penanda aras. Jika dipenuhi semua tuntutan hak asasi tanpa batas ini, kesucian institusi keluarga tidak dapat dipertahankan lagi. Malah,keruntuhan institusi keluarga dan akhlak insan pasti terjadi.

Marilah kita saling berpesan-pesan sesama saudara seIslam kearah kebaikan agar perkara melampaui batas tidak menular dikalangan kita.
Bawalah mereka yang tersilap langkah kejalan yang benar dgn penuh hikmah.

Jangan kita mengundang murka Allah S.W.T. Ambil iktibar dari peristiwa Nabi Lut sebagai sandaran.

Al-Quran, Surah Hud ayat 82 yang bermaksud :

Maka apabila datang (masa perlaksanaan) perintah Kami,Kami jadikan negeri kaum Lut itu diterbalikkan (tertimbus segala yang ada di muka buminya) dan kami menghujaninya dengan batu-batu dari tanah yang dibakar, menimpanya bertalu-talu.’

Islam Forbids LGBT

One of Singapore Malay National Organisation (PKMS) objective is to safeguard and promote advancement of Islam without interfering in the affairs of other religions. PKMS is concerned about homosexual relationship or at present is also known as LGBT. The LGBT movement is becoming more aggressive, contradicting with human nature and undermine the human lineage.

Life in Singapore today is very susceptible to bad influences to a point where LGBT movement is being widely spread with the association of free love.

The principle of an individual freedom which does not hold fast to the foundation of religion and culture are being taken as a benchmark. If all demands and unlimited rights are being fulfilled, the sanctity of family institution will be untenable. Hence erosion of family institution and human behaviour will occur.

Let us exhort one another to truth and goodness and prevent transgression from spreading within our community. Lead those who are on the wrong path with guidance and concern.

Let us not invite the wrath of Allah SWT. Take lessons from the story of Prophet Lut.

Al-Quran, Surah HUD verse 82 which means:

So when Our commandment came to pass, We overthrow (that township) and rained upon it stones of clay, one after another, (82) Marked with fire in the providence of thy Lord (for destruction of the wicked). And they are never far from the wrong-doers.

Is Wearing White a Sunnah?

Is wearing white a Sunnah?
Answering accusations thrown against the Wearwhite campaign

Recently a brother of mine, Ust Noor Deros, initiated a noble campaign called wearwhite. It aims at herding & guiding us back to Fitrah. At the same time, it promotes wearing white on the first day of Ramadhan as it is a tradition of our beloved Prophet. One of the main tenets of this campaign is also to enjoin good virtues and forbid vice acts (Amr Ma’ruf Nahy Munkar). In spite of their pure and noble intentions, I have personally witnessed baseless accusations being thrown at them. Thus with the will of Allah, I will try to discuss and refute a few, if not all, of the claims.

1. Prophet did not force anyone to wear white. Why should you say it is a Sunnah?

Suprisingly, this “queer” accusation came from Muslims. It is clear from authentic narrations that the Prophet encouraged wearing white, to the extent that in the eyes of certain scholars it is Wajib not Fard. Nonetheless, no scholar argues that it is not a Sunnah.

With a big YES, the most beloved colour to Prophet Muhd in clothing is white. He said:
البسوا من ثيابكم البياض ؛ فإنها من خير ثيابكم
Wear white from your clothing, as it is the best of your clothing…
– Recorded by Nasaie and graded as Hassan
البسوا البياض ؛ فإنها أطهر وأطيب
Wear white, as it is the purest and the best…
– Recorded by At-Tirmizi and other and he said: Authentic & Good (Narration).

Therefore, I hope it is clear now that Prophet loves white in clothing and with affirmative I say that WEARING WHITE IS A SUNNAH

2. Wearwhite promotes hatred and division against Singaporean. At the same time it discriminates the rights of Homosexuals

I wonder what has happen to our sound & just mind. Most of us try our best to rationalize things, yet only a few reason on it. Why does supporting wearwhite can be considered as a “culture war”?

If promoting the family institution and culture equates to vilifying the rights of homosexual, doesn’t it reciprocate to the same thing? When you encourage the limitless “freedom to love” of Pink dot, you are subjecting the family institution to harassment and threatening the safeguard culture of the majority?

If you call for an equality that entails a check of majoritarianism – the act where majority values are imposed on minority, why is that minoritarism – the act of imposing minority rights and cultures on majority, can prevail without being questioned?

If you are calling for the rights of minority to be freely exercised without condemnations towards it, which is in this case accepting LGBTQ, why is it when I am rejecting it is not considered as ‘exercising my rights’ as a citizen?

Why is Pinkdot a good campaign and Wearwhite a bad one?
If you are promoting love towards homosexuals,
We are promoting love towards family institutions which has been the backbone of any civilizations throughout history.
If we are endorsing hatred towards homosexuality,
Then you are endorsing hatred towards heterosexuality, family institutions, religions and the security of our country at large.
Isn’t it only fair, if you have the rights to promote it to me so that I’ll accept LGBTQ, I also do possess the rights to promote family institutions so that you’ll accept it?

If part of your rights are for me to accept LGBTQ, isn’t it part of my rights to reject it as a lifestyle too?

Again, I am not saying we should marginalized homosexuals especially from religious institutions such as mosques, you are more than welcome there. We are just saying that we can never condone it becoming a culture and we still strive with all efforts to curb it.

3. Wearwhite main aim is to counter pinkdot which is masked under the name of Sunnah.

As mentioned earlier, the basis of wearing white is an encouraged Sunnah. Thus if by promoting a Sunnah, we can accomplish different other objectives as well, then where is the issue?

Hypothetically, if I can create a campaign called “Quit Smoking, Start Siwaking!”. With just one campaign, I can promulgate a Sunnah – which is applying siwak (a form of cleansing the mouth), I can promulgate living a healthy lifestyle and also at the same time preventing a bad action which is smoking. Thus 3 birds are killed with one stone.

So Wearwhite is not using Sunnah as a semblance where in actual fact they are sincere in promoting the Sunnah.

4. Allah will not look at what you are wearing this Ramadhan, He will observe the most pious amongst all of you

A classic decoy just to stir people away from the intended course. Allah will insyALlah accept the prayers of a servant if he is doing terawih alone in his room. Yet isn’t it better to pray in congregation in mosque? Allah will accept your prayers if you come for terawih with an old t-shirt, yet isn’t it better for you to apply perfumes on your best of clothing? Allah will accept you prostrations if you are wearing a pink Jubah yet isn’t it better to wear a white Jubah emulating the Prophet and abiding to his commands?

If you comprehend the message, you will abide to it. Wearwhite is bridging us towards a better cause. What are you waiting for?

The best part about Wearwhite is that the campaign is being led by scholars of our community. Let the world be reminded of the power in the hands of our scholars. We have the likes of Imam Ahmad, Imam al-Ghazali, Sheikh Ibn Taimiyah, Sheikh Omar Mukhtar and many other may Allah vouchsafe them paradise. One of the most contemporaries would be Sheikh Ahmad Yassin, a quadriplegic scholar who was nearly blind, had used a wheelchair since a sporting accident at the age of 12, yet managed to convert the whole communist community who were jailed with him to Muslims.

When Allah guards something, there is nothing that can afflict harm to it. Wearwhite has received more attention than it can ever imagine just because of its adversaries. It was even featured in Reuters. Verily, Prophet Muhammad had promised:

“And know that if the nation were to gather together to benefit you with anything, they would not benefit you except with what Allah had already prescribed for you. And if they were to gather together to harm you with anything, they would not harm you except with what Allah had already prescribed against you. The pens have been lifted and the pages have dried.” – Recorded by Tirmizi and he classified it as Authentic & Good.

Father of 10 Children Shares Challenges Balancing Work and Family

Returning to his flat in Woodlands, Staff Sergeant (SSgt) Mohamed Jailani, 36, is greeted by his wife and ten children.

“When people hear that I have ten children, they are astounded, but to me, it’s just having a bigger family that’s all, no different from everyone else,” says SSgt Jailani

The rescue specialist is part of the Singapore Civil Defence Force’s elite unit – the Disaster and Rescue Team (DART) which handles complex rescue and fire-fighting incidents such as urban search and rescue, prolonged fire fighting, height and confined space operations and water rescue.

Only the best officers join DART and they undergo an extremely grueling selection test.

During the selection, SSgt Jailani often came close to giving up due to the sheer physically and mental stress of the 28-hour test that included a 7km run, 21km road march, concrete wall breeching, height and confined space test and heat and humidity endurance.

As they say, looks can be deceiving.

Although SSgt Jailani stands at 1.58m and weighs only 49kg, he was able to carry dummy casualties heavier than him (wearing his breathing apparatus which weighs 15kg) and perform the other range of challenging and sometimes excruciating exercises.

“What other officers can’t do, DART must do, because we are called in to perform the more complex and demanding emergencies, so we cannot afford to slip up because real lives are at stake in every crisis, that’s why the selection is so tough,” says SSgt Jailani.

To train for his selection, he had to sacrifice some family time, but it was worth the while and SSgt Jailani was one of 8officers of 16 officers who signed up for the DART selection back in 2012.

What keeps him in the force for 8 years is his passion for rescuing people.

“When you save someone, the feeling is indescribable,” say SSgt Jailani.

He says that height rescue operations are challenging due to the danger and to have many people watching from the ground.

“Any rescue job that cannot be done we must be able to finish it. We cannot afford to make mistakes because real lives are at stake. So it is really demanding to hold on the DART tag,’ says SSgt Jailani.

Not only is SSgt Jailani a passionate rescue specialist, he is also a generous and loving father to ten children.

“Sometimes, I also don’t know how I manage ten children. Without the support and love of my wonderful wife, it would be impossible,” SSgt Jailani smiles lovingly at his wife Rohana of 11 years.

His youngest child is five years old and SSgt Jailani calls himself the luckiest man on earth to have a supportive wife.

During the tough 28 hour DART selection, Rohana was supportive of his ambition but was saddened as she knew how physically and mentally drained SSgt Jailani was that week.

“My children too adore my work, they are proud of me and I share some experiences with them like the road traffic cases I attend to – to help them understand the importance of road safety. But the difficult and gruesome cases I will not share as I don’t want to worry them,” says SSgt Jailani.

Having ten children who are understanding and mature has made parenting a little more easier for Jailani and Rohana.

The family enjoys simple outings the beach, playing charades and having BBQ sessions.

Having to raise so many children in Singapore is a formidable feat but it does not come without challenges.

“Finance is of course the toughest, I don’t need to explain more as Singapore is the most expensive city in the world,” jokes SSgt Jailani who lives in a 5-room flat with his family.

His wife Rohana has given up her job to be a stay-home mother to look after her children.

When he went on dates with his wife, his children would tag along and they would go window shopping or have long walks in the park and sit by the playground.

“My other worries are to teach them not to mix with bad company, how to save money even with little money, learning the needs and strengths of all my ten children and helping them to love me as their father,” says SSgt Jalani.

This fathers’ day, SSgt Jailani celebrates with his family at a chalet where they bond over good food and a splashing good time at the pool.
