Kali pertama semasa menerima anugerah Penamas dulu pd tahun 2004.

Setiap kali berjumpa dgn beliau, pasti saya akan kagum dgn kekuatan ingatan cikgu, teringat saya juga pd almarhum Ustaz Ahmad Sonhadji yg juga punya daya ingatan yg kuat pd usia yg senja. Contohnya, bila saya tanya sejak bila tinggal di sini, beliau menjawab 1 Nov 1954! Dasyat kan? Umur cikgu pd hal dh 89 tahun!

Muslim Clerics Say to No ‘Jilboobs’ in Indonesia

Jakarta. The highest authority of Muslim clerics in Indonesia has issued a fatwa against what a leading Indonesian news website has dubbed “Jilboobs” — women who wear a jilbab, or Islamic headscarf, but skimp on adopting entirely the conservative dress code by wearing “tight” clothing below the neck.

The Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) met on Thursday in Jakarta. The MUI is composed of clerics from Indonesia’s largest Islamic organizations, including Muhammadiyah and Nahdlatul Ulama, and has a broad range of responsibilities including issuing halal certificates and advising the government on policy.

“The MUI already has a fatwa against pornography. But that means that you should not show the shape of the body by wearing a jilbab, but with tight clothing,” said vice chairman of the MUI, Ma’ruf Amin, as quoted by Liputan6. “The MUI strictly forbids it.”

Ma’ruf applauded Indonesian women for electing to wear the jilbab, but was critical of individuals who had elected to dress as they pleased.

“We respect those who are already wearing the jilbab,” he said. “But for those already wearing the jilbab, it should not be vulgar.”

SINGAPORE — Two religious organisations — the Singapore Buddhist Lodge and the Taoist Federation of Singapore — have made a donation of an undisclosed amount to help Syrian refugees in Turkey.

They are the latest non-Muslim religious organisations to step forward, after Abbot Venerable Sik Kwang Sheng from Bright Hill Temple pledged support for the Aid to Syrian Refugees in Turkey (ASRIT) initiative last month. ASRIT is a joint initiative by two Muslim organisations, SimplyIslam and the Muslim Expatriates Network.

Mr Tan Thiam Lye, chairman of the Taoist Federation of Singapore, said both the Taoist and Buddhist organisations enjoy a “close working relationship” with their Muslim counterparts.

Their donations came on the heels of a call by Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean last month for all Singaporeans to extend aid to Syrian refugees. So far, ASRIT has raised more than S$420,000 from donations collected in mosques, during roadshows and from online contributors. The money raised will go towards building a school for refugee children and buying food packs, school and healthcare supplies for the Syrian refugees, who number almost a million.

Meanwhile, ASRIT will be sending more than 10 volunteers to the Syrian refugee camps in Turkey in September in its first overseas mission.

  • Sekolah Larang Pakai Hijab Pada Sambutan Hari Kebangsaan Walaupun Tidak Beruniform

Sekolah Larang Pakai Hijab Pada Sambutan Hari Kebangsaan Walaupun Tidak Beruniform

    singapore national day

Assalamu’alaikum…. haaaahhh…. hari ni saya nak luahkan perasaan sedih…

Persoalannya, saya faham, tudung is not part of the school uniform.

The sch name is Zhenghua Primary… En Zainal MP dah bantu saya speak to VP. VP was not aware of this… saya reply, saya tak kisah lah kalau sekolah tu bagi surat, bagitau dgn parents no head gears is allowed. ok fine… anak saya pakai uniform je kalau gitu kan… mcm nurse … saya dulu pun gitu, gi sekolah bertudung sampai sekolah bukak lah pakai uniform… tak der masalah pun… saja je teacher bangang agaknya.

VP baru call… dia apologize.. kisahnya sebenar, this Mdm Teng Litan ni, waktu she demanded my daughter to take off her tudung, ada satu lagi teacher intervene asking her to refer to Mr Faisal sbb Mr Faisal ni is the in charge of the Muslim Affair student kt sklh tu… but she did not do that… so bila MP called to inform the school, she peng story kata, she tak demand cuma request je… i snubbed back la… kalau request, suara tak kan tegas garang sampai budak tu takut lalu bukak tudung… I asked the VP, so if Insyirah did not take off her tudung, will Mdm Teng take disciplinary action against her? That was the implication she gave to my daughter… The VP apologize banyak banyak kali.

I also mentioned that kalau tak mo bagi pakai head gear, then tulis surat clearly state that no head gears are allowed. Saya akan suruh anak saya pakai uniform je… lagipun saya cakap, head gears utk anak saya tu, sbb kan dia suka fesyen bertudung… tak der kena mengena dgn agama pun… saya galakkan je lah.. lagipun dah kebetulan satu tuntutan agama… so tak payahlah saya nak nasihat kan dia suruh pakai tudung kan…

  • RTM Encrypted Signals to Ensure Commonwealth Games Coverage Exclusive to Malaysia Only

RTM Encrypted Signals to Ensure Commonwealth Games Coverage Exclusive to Malaysia Only

    rtm1

SINGAPORE – Singapore did not block the airing of Radio Television Malaysia (RTM) news to Singapore households.

Rather, it was RTM that had encrypted signals to ensure that its coverage of the Commonwealth Games was confined to Malaysia only.

“It seems like the mystery of the alleged blocking of RTM1 news by Singapore is, in fact, the encryption of signals by RTM,” said Singapore’s High Commissioner to Malaysia, Mr Ong Keng Yong, in comments provided to the New Straits Times yesterday.

Mr Ong’s statement addressed Singapore viewers’ complaints that RTM1 broadcasts had been blocked from their homes.

Earlier this week, Malaysian Broadcasting Department technical services director Abdul Wahid Hamid explained that some blockage of RTM1 broadcasts had occurred. But this was to protect the broadcasting rights for the Commonwealth Games in Glasglow.

Claims that the Singapore government had blocked coverage of the violence in Gaza were unfounded, he added.

Mr Ong also denied that the blocking had anything to do with Singapore’s stand on the Gaza issue because it was allegedly pro-Israel, according to the New Straits Times.
