Old Man Finds Boy “Very Cute and Handsome”, Then Molest Him at Void Deck

    pedophile

SINGAPORE: A 10-year-old boy who was sitting at the void deck and playing with his handphone was molested repeatedly despite pushing his perpetrator away.

The perpetrator, Teo Koon Tian, 57, was sentenced to 20 months’ jail on Thursday (Aug 7). At about 4pm on July 18 this year, Teo purchased three cans of beer from a provision shop and was drinking at the void deck. As he was drinking, he spotted the boy, who cannot be named as he is a minor.

Teo told the boy that he was “very cute and handsome” and touched him on the cheeks. However, the boy ignored Teo and continued to play with his handphone. Teo then walked around the void deck and touched the boy’s cheeks again, and the boy once again ignored him.

Subsequently, Teo sat behind the boy and used his right hand and patted and rubbed the boy’s left thigh. Though the boy immediately pushed his hand away, Teo continued to use his right hand to touch the boy’s thigh, proceeding higher up the thigh. The boy was very scared when Teo touched him, the court heard. The boy continued to push Teo’s hand away, after which Teo walked away.

The boy then immediately went back home and told his elder sister about the incident. They went down to look for Teo but could not find him. They later called their mother and filed a police report that night.

During the hearing, Deputy Public Prosecutor Joshua Lim argued that the offence was committed in broad daylight and the boy was “simply trusting in the safety and security of his own housing estate”.

“In no uncertain terms, he (Teo) has to be told that he has to pay for his crimes against innocent, vulnerable, defenceless young boys,” said Mr Lim.

He also urged the court to send the message that the criminal justice system will “come down hard” on child molesters who commit such offences. “You will be appropriately censured, castigated and dealt with,” added Mr Lim.

  • Why I Decide to Wear the Hijab?

Why I Decide to Wear the Hijab?

Let me tell you a little story on why I decide to have them (hijab) on.

Before this I’ve been neglecting my prayers. Just like other young adults, I feel like I have the time of my life. Sitting and laying on my bed alone thinking about all of the bad things I’ve done, all the prayers I’ve missed.

Fear of the sins I’ve made in life. I’m not sure myself how sudden it was for me to feel all that at once when I did not really think of them as much as I did before the years. I also had strange feelings, mostly fears.. Like what if I don’t have much time to ask for forgiveness from my Creator. But the most terrifying feelings I felt was Death. I have no idea how it came about but in my mind it was always the thought of death. I can’t sleep at night. I couldn’t sleep, kept tossing and turning but the thought was always there that one day I stood up and tell myself; That’s it. I need to do something.

Could clearly remember that I rushed to the toilet, take my Wudhu, recite every Du’a I could and begged for forgiveness. I’m scared upon the punishments. I need guidance. I feel like I missed HIM and I tell myself that I want to get closer to HIM. Maybe the thought of my sins makes me realized how sinned I am as a person for not doing my Salah (Prayers).

I’m not proud of who I was before so instead of pondering of the things I wish I could redo, I start back on my prayers and asked for guidance in life as well as forgiveness from my Creator. Then I realized maybe it’s a sign from Him, my Creator to bring me back to the path that I’ve been out of line from. I promise you, I had never felt this feeling before.. I felt peace. I felt a-new. The feeling I’ve never felt before and can’t explain how beautiful it was. I feel like I have company even when I’m lonely like I am all the time.

In every Du’a I prayed and I thanked Allah for the blessings and the guidance/light he had showed me. Which is to show me the right path. The right way of becoming a better Muslim, and a better child. Inshallah.

The thoughts of wearing Hijab is always been lingering on my mind but I feel that I’m still not ready because I feel that I’m still not good enough. But after weeks, Du’a and during the holy month of Ramdhan itself that I finally feel that I’m ready to take the next step. And I’m a Hijabi now. 🙂 I love the person I am now. I feel much respected. Alhamdulliah.

DJ and actor Bobby Tonelli, 39, has found new love outside of show business.

The actor was formerly in a relationship with Joanne Peh for four years.

According to a report on Berita Harian, Tonelli said she is the same age as him, has never been married and is from Jakarta. She is working in the jewellery industry in Singapore.

He described her as being smart and mature, and has attitude to constantly improve herself. She is family-oriented and can speak five languages including Spanish, French and Mandarin.

The 39-year-old met this new love, an Indonesian Muslim, last May, and spent Hari Raya with her family in Jakarta.

Tonelli, a Catholic, even joined the family for morning prayers during his stay there.

During his visit, he surprised the family by showing an interest in Islam and they shared the history on the religion with him.

When he came back to Singapore, Tonelli got an Islamic scholar from the United States to help him understand the religion.

His knowledge on Islam was mostly from the Western media and can be one-sided, he told the Malay daily.

During the four hour session, he helped to answer Tonelli’s questions on various topics such as Jesus’ role in Islam and the dietary requirements. He also asked why Muslims have to pray five times a day.

After learning about the religion, he said it was calming and peaceful.

This year, the American star tried fasting for a few days for Ramadan this year.

When asked if he is going to convert to Islam, Tonelli said his new girlfriend does not want him to convert for her.

She wants him to convert for the religion itself.

Other than love, Tonelli is focused on promoting his new movie, Wayang Boy, which will be out in cinemas in November.

  • Boy Injured After a Glass Door at Westgate Mall Fell on Top of Him

Boy Injured After a Glass Door at Westgate Mall Fell on Top of Him

A four-year-old boy suffered a cut to the back of his head and neck pains, after a glass door on level 5 of the mall reportedly “detached itself” and fell on top of him.

A member of the public who only wants to be known as “Paul” sent in photos of the aftermath. He says he heard from the boy’s mother that the glass door – about three-metres high – just outside of NTUC’s My First Skool childcare centre and a Fitness First gym, leading to the outdoor area on Level 5, detached and fell on top of the boy just before 6pm.

Mr Paul says the boy’s entire body was pinned down by the door, and that he was lying facedown when he arrived shortly after. The boy’s right cheek appeared to be bruised. There were also traces of blood on the ground.

“Because the glass door is tempered glass, it shattered within,” said Mr Paul. He says two staff members from the nearby Westgate Kids Club brought a first aid kit to tend to the boy, and a doctor from a clinic one level down came up to assist as well.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) confirms it received a call on the incident at 6:05pm, and says the boy suffered a cut to the back of his head and reported having neck pains.

He was sent conscious to the National University Hospital, accompanied by his mother and mall staff.

A spokesperson for Westgate mall says the boy was swinging the glass door the time of the accident. “Our investigations revealed that the boy had over-extended the glass door when he swung it, causing it to hit the door frame and shatter,” said Ms Mandy Chiu, the marketing communications manager for Westgate in a statement to Channel NewsAsia.

The boy remains in hospital for observation, but is in stable condition. “We wish him a speedy recovery, and continue to extend our help to him and his family,” said Ms Chiu.

The mall’s contractor will be conducting safety checks on its glass doors and panels overnight, to prevent a recurrence of such an incident.
