  • My 12-Year-Old Son Came Back From School With A Sharp Lethal Weapon Called Karambit

My 12-Year-Old Son Came Back From School With A Sharp Lethal Weapon Called Karambit

My barely 12 year old son came back from school with this shockingly sharp and lethal weapon called a Karambit. He said he bought it at Hako @ Tampines 1 at only $15.

I am appalled at how easy it is for a child in primary school to purchase this weapon without checking the age of the child.

After calling the Hako shop, the retailer there answered confidently that the weapon is allowed by the Singapore Police Force to be sold to any aged individual.

The curved blade was about 9.5cm long and it was so sharp, I could slice a thick piece of cardboard effortlessly.

I am going to pursue this matter until every single Hako locker with a weapon is raided and banned from being sold.

Please spread the word. This is too much and I cannot imagine how many of these knives have already been bought by kids in our neighbourhood.

Child Scalded By Very Hot Temperature Water Inside Her Water Bottle At A Childcare Center

Scalded by very hot temperature water that was refilled in her water bottle in the childcare center..
Such high temperature water shouldn’t even be refilled in their water bottles to begin with.. Let alone to be placed within the reach of the kids..
This is truly a case of laziness, negligence and complacency.. All in the expenses of my lil peanut..
    Share away, my friends..!

Someone commented to the posting saying, “This is unacceptable. What the hell were they thinking. They should have their licenses pulled. Who would put hot water in a child’s water bottle? Child abuse is what this is. Get yourself a lawyer please. And call the police and make a report. If they won’t do anything go to the news stations. Put it on tv.”

The source then gave the following update.

I’ve escalated this to the HQ management.. They apologised but this is beyond apologising.. They explained that they just took over as it was franchised but their HQ is just upstairs of the center yet they’ve no knowledge of what their teachers are doing n such can happen.. They pushed all the blames to the previous director whom is no longer running the center..
Teachers there have no heart to work as they aren’t paid their wages.. Since the management took over; is worse than when the previous director running the center..
Good Principal left, teachers left n leaving n what’s left is a batch of very frustrated n vexed teachers running the center, in hope that they get their wages then they too will leave.. Parents who withdrawn their kids aren’t getting their deposits back.. N I have yet to get mine as well..
It’s an epic mess, resulting such..

She explained that the teacher refilled very hot temperature water into her water bottle, told her not to touch it but left it within her reach and an accident happened. “Thereafter, she used an ice pack to nurse the scalded area which quickly caused it to blister n broke the blister as the ice pack is hard.. U do not put ice nor ice pack on scalded area/s, run running water from the tap on the area/s.. This is simple basic 1st aid..!”

According to her, this happened at a private childcare called Amar Kidz Macpherson.

  • Man Angry With Estranged Wife Bantai Children, Sentenced To 4-Months Jail

Man Angry With Estranged Wife Bantai Children, Sentenced To 4-Months Jail

A father hit his young children with a fabric belt and even held an ignited lighter near them.

The 33-year-old father of five did it because he had insisted his children were not telling him the truth about his estranged wife’s whereabouts.

The man, who cannot be named to protect the identities of the children, had lost contact with his wife after she left the flat in Boon Lay some time before January last year.

Yesterday, the unemployed man was sentenced to four months’ jail for two counts of ill-treating his 10- year-old son and nine-year-old daughter.

He was also jailed for a day and fined $1,000 for a separate offence of stealing $41 worth of cigarettes from a minimart in Boon Lay.

Four other charges – ill-treating his 10 year-old son, causing hurt to the boy’s stepmother and two counts of dishonest misappropriation of property – were considered in sentencing.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Sarah Ong said the abuse happened on Jan 29 last year. The accused was home with four of his children when he asked the victims if they had any information about his estranged wife. Both said they did not.

He became angry, accused them of lying and grabbed a folded fabric belt to hit his son.

The boy was struck on the shoulder and was in pain, but his father continued to hit him as he tried to dodge the blows. In all, the boy was struck about 10 times all over his body. The man then turned to his daughter and hit her about five times with the same belt.

Later, the accused approached his son with an ignited lighter and held it near the boy’s left arm. It was close enough for the boy to feel the heat.

The man did this while quizzing his son about his wife’s whereabouts, and also did the same thing to his daughter.

When his daughter cried and said she was not lying, he kept the lighter and walked away.

Multiple bruises were found on both children, with red marks on the boy’s arms and chest.

The accused also stole cigarettes on April 17 last year at 4.13am.

His jail term will start after the expiry of his current sentence of three years and six months for taking drugs.

The accused could have been fined up to $4,000 and/or jailed for up to four years on each charge of ill-treating a child which caused the child unnecessary physical pain.

The maximum penalty for theft in dwelling is seven years’ jail and a $30,000 fine.

  • Home Of Former PM Lee Kuan Yew At 38 Oxley Road At Centre Of Dispute

Home Of Former PM Lee Kuan Yew At 38 Oxley Road At Centre Of Dispute

A long-running question over what to do with the home of the late former prime minister Lee Kuan Yew at 38, Oxley Road has come into focus again after two of the late Mr Lee’s children, Dr Lee Wei Ling and Mr Lee Hsien Yang, issued a statement on the matter on Wednesday (June 14).

In their statement, they reiterated their father’s wish that the house be demolished upon his death.

The two siblings, who are joint executors and trustees of their father’s estate, also said that their elder brother, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, and his wife Ho Ching had opposed this wish as “the preservation of the house would enhance his political capital”.

The issue of 38, Oxley Road made the news back in 2015, several weeks after Mr Lee Kuan Yew died at the age of 91 on March 23 that year.

In April 2015, Dr Lee and Mr Lee Hsien Yang stated publicly that the late Mr Lee had asked for his house to be demolished after his death, and asked Singaporeans to respect this wish.

In his will, Mr Lee Kuan Yew said that the house should “be demolished immediately after my death or if my daughter, Wei Ling, would prefer to continue living in the original house, immediately after she moves out of the house”.

If demolition is made impossible owing to changes in the law, rules or regulations, it was the late Mr Lee’s wish that the house should not be open to anyone except his children, their families and descendants.

There had been calls after Mr Lee Kuan Yew’s death to turn the pre-war bungalow, which he had lived in since the 1940s, into a museum or heritage site.

PM Lee told Parliament at a sitting on April 12, 2015, that Mr Lee Kuan Yew knew about calls from the public to turn his Oxley Road home into a museum and a memorial to him, but was adamant the house should be demolished after his death.

Mr Lee Kuan Yew had written formally to the Cabinet at least twice to put his wishes on the record, PM Lee told Parliament.

The first time was soon after his wife, Madam Kwa Geok Choo, died in October 2010, and the second time was after he stepped down from the Cabinet in May 2011.

In his statement delivered in Parliament, PM Lee said that his father’s position on 38, Oxley Road was unwavering over the years, and added that Singaporeans should respect his wishes.

PM Lee explained that his father was averse to the idea as he had seen too many houses of famous people “kept frozen in time… as a monument with people tramping in and out”, and they invariably “become shabby”.

The prime minister also said that a decision on the fate of the house was not required as his sister, Dr Lee Wei Ling, continued to live there.

In December 2015, PM Lee and his two siblings said in a joint statement that they hoped the State would honour their late father’s wishes regarding the house.

The statement also announced that PM Lee and Mr Lee Hsien Yang had each agreed to donate half the value of Mr Lee Kuan Yew’s Oxley Road house to eight charities, in honour of their father.

“Dr Lee Wei Ling and Mr Lee Hsien Yang would like to honour the wish of the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew that the house at 38, Oxley Road be demolished after Dr Lee Wei Ling ceases to live in it,” the statement said.

“Mr Lee Hsien Loong has recused himself from all government decisions involving 38, Oxley Road and, in his personal capacity, would also like to see this wish honoured,” it added.

A online poll released later in December 2015 by Hong Kong-based market research firm YouGov found that a majority of those surveyed supported demolishing the house. Of the 1,000 people it polled online, 77 per cent said they backed Mr Lee’s wish and 15 per cent of wanted the house preserved.
