    Local Renovation Company Wants To Help Rebuild The Flat That Caught Fire; Needs Donor Contributions As Well

    Salaam Friends,

    It is my intention to make it a yearly affair and help those families in need.

    Last year, together with my partner, Mohamad Nazareen, Hamizan Shah and a few anonymous donors, we managed to rebuild one kitchen cabinet that is in near collapse condition.

    This year, I came across a couple whose flat caught fire and in need of some goodwill assistance to rebuild their flat.

    Hence, Im calling for my friends who would like to participate in this charity work and rebuild their kitchen cabinet to ease their financial stress.

    Personally, i’l match any donors dollar-for-dollar basis (up to 1k) to get it started. Any amount will be helpful towards this cause.

    I estimate that it would cost 2k to do a basic kitchen cabinet.

    Im looking to provide and install these items to the owner;
    1. 12ft kitchen cabinet
    2. 8ft solid surface
    3. Kitchen sink and tap
    4. Cooker hood and hob

    No Death Penalty For Suspects Involved In Tahfiz School Fire

    The youths detained in connection with a fire at the Darul Quran Ittifaqiyah residential religious school in Datuk Keramat, which claimed the lives of 21 students and two teachers, cannot be punished with the death penalty. Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said said Section 97 (1) of the Child Act 2001 stated that the death penalty cannot be imposed on children under the age of 18. However, the court may imprison them for as long as consented by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong or the Yang Dipertua Negeri, she added.

    In addition, Section 94 of the same Act empowers the court to order the parents of the suspects to pay a fine or compensation, she said in a statement today. The police had detained seven youths, aged between 11 and 18, in connection with the fire which broke out at 5.15am on Sept 14. Azalina said all the suspects were still being remanded and investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder and Section 435 of the same code for mischief by fire. She hoped that the incident would serve as a lesson to all parties, especially parents, in the fight against crimes involving children. She also urged all parties to stop speculating and give space to authorities to complete the investigations. “I believe this case will be brought to justice,” she said.

    And so the story has turned out that the fire that broke out at the tahfiz school, killing students and wardens, is now highly likely due to arson, by boys aged between 12 and 18 who are now in police custody. Allegedly because the boys from the tahfiz school chided them for taking drugs – syabu to be specific. And at the time of arrest, they have all been tested positive of the said substance. (added: or ganja) These boys went and stole gas tanks, filled containers with petrol, blocked the exit door with a mattress, set the gas tanks alight and ran off.

    A 12 year old. 12. A boy who’s supposed to have sat for UPSR but instead got himself involved in killing 20+ men and children. A 12 year old. Friends, this is the sad, sad reality. The disparity in lifestyle and education is still very wide, even in the heart of our capital. While kids on Jalan Ampang go to private schools, monitored closely by their parents, some kids a few hundred meters away in Keramat are high on drugs, with their parents either totally oblivious or not giving a fuck about their children’s whereabouts or activities. Yes, I say fuck. Because I’m angry. With the kids. But more so with their parents.

    If you think you’ll suck at raising children, if you think you don’t know what’s best for your children, then don’t have children. Because of your negligence, your lack of guidance, your nonchalant “ah biar lah diorang” attitude, other parents have lost theirs. But when your own children roam the streets at 3am in the morning, riding their bicycles recklessly in groups, in the middle of the road, and get mowed down by a motorist, you cry murder. No. They didn’t die because they got mowed down, they died because you let them loose at 3am to get mowed down.

    And fuck the rest of you who are against the death penalty for drug dealers. If they have zero, absolutely ZERO conscience when it comes to selling drugs to a 12 year old, then they deserve to die. You don’t even want to guide your children, and yet you expect them to become successful and support you when you’re old? Fucking wake up. You don’t deserve it. You created these monsters. Bila lah orang kita ni nak sedar. Sedih dok pikir. Sampai bila nak macam ni. Kalau tak nak jaga anak, jangan gatai nak beranak.

    25 Dead In Fire At Religious (Tahfiz) School In Jalan Datuk Keramat, Malaysia

    At least 25 people died after a fire broke out at a religious (tahfiz) school in Jalan Datuk Keramat early Thursday.

    The City Fire and Rescue Department said they received information on the blaze at about 5.00am.

    “Based on our information at the moment, 25 students and teachers have died in the fire.

     

    The school cordoned off as police carry out their investigations

    “Our personnel are still at the scene,” he said.

    In August, The Star reported that the Fire and Rescue Department was concerned about the fire safety measures at unregistered and private tahfiz (religious) schools, having recorded 211 fires involving them since 2015.

    Earlier that month, 16 people including eight students fled an early morning fire at the family-run Tahfiz Al-Taqwa school in Baling, Kedah.

    On May 7, another such school in Sabak Bernam, Selangor was destroyed in an early morning fire, but no one was hurt.

    On Sept 29, 1989, 27 female students of SAR Taufikiah Al-Halimiah in Kampung Padang Lumat, Kedah, perished when fire gutted the school and eight wooden hostels.

    There were 519 tahfiz schools registered nationwide as of April, but many more are believed to be unregistered.

    Kebakaran Yang Berlaku Di Kedai Nasi Lemak Changi Village Semalam; Bermula Dari Kedai Mizzy Corner Nasi Lemak

    Satu kebakaran berlaku di pusat penjaja Changi Village pada pagi Isnin (7 Ogos) menjejas gerai Mizzy Corner Nasi Lemak. Namun orang awam berjaya memadamkannya.

    Pasukan Pertahanan Awam Singapura (SCDF) melaporkan ia mendapat tahu tentang kejadian itu pada jam 5.35 pagi dan segera mengerahkan kereta bomba ke tempat kejadian.

    Kebakaran tersebut melibatkan “isi dapur” dan “saluran ekzos” menurut SCDF, sambil menambah bahawa ia dipadamkan oleh orang awam menggunakan alat pemadam api sebelum SCDF tiba di tempat kejadian.

    Tidak ada kecederaan dilaporkan, dan punca kebakaran sedang disiasat.

    Seorang pekerja daripada gerai restoran Dil B’ mengatakan beliau terdengar jeritan orang yang memekik ‘api!’. Sejurus selepas itu, beliau bersama tujuh pekerja yang lain segera bergegas untuk menolong memadamkan api.

    Video yang tersebar di media sosial menunjukkan sebahagian daripada gerai Mizzy Corner Nasi Lemak terbakar, dengan api dan asap yang yang kelihatan seperti mencecah bahagian saluran ventilasi berhampiran siling, di bahagian atas barisan gerai-gerai tersebut.

    Seorang lelaki dilihat memadamkan api di gerai itu dengan alat pemadam api, manakala seorang lagi memanjat meja, dengan mencuba untuk memadamkan api berhampiran dengan saluran.

    Seorang pengurus ICT, Muhammad Syaheer, 28 tahun, berkata beliau berada di tempat kejadian pada jam 5.30 petang, 12 jam selepas kejadian berlaku.

    Beliau berkongsi bahawa seorang pembersih memberitahunya bahawa kebakaran bermula pada jam 5.00 pagi di gerai Mizzy Corner Nasi Lemak.

    Syaheer menambah keadaan perniagaan kelihatan berjalan seperti biasa apabila beliau berada di tempat kejadian pada petang itu, walaupun empat daripada gerai dikatakan tutup- “gerai nasi lemak yang popular, gerai minuman, gerai sate, gerai nasi beriani dam”.

    Menurut pemilik gerai nasi lemak, Cik Mizrea, kerosakan yang berlaku akibat daripada kebakaran itu boleh memakan kos di antara S$20,000 hingga S$30,000. Beliau menambah beliau berasa “lega” bahawa kebakaran tidak merebak ke gerai-gerai lain dan tiada siapa yang tercedera.

    “Mulai sekarang, kita perlu berhati-hati…Awak tidak akan tahu bila kebakaran boleh berlaku, dan awak tidak dapat membayangkan sejauh mana kebakaran boleh terjadi dan sejauh mana ia boleh menyebabkan kerosakan,” tambahnya.
