Man Sent To Jail After Molesting A Teenager Hours After Being Fined For Setting Fire To Neighbour’s Clothes

Less than a day after being fined $2,000 for setting fire to his neighbour’s clothes, an unemployed man diagnosed with having “poor impulse control” molested a 14-year-old girl in a lift.

Phui Jun Ming, 22, followed the student into it and squeezed her breast as the lift was ascending.

On Tuesday, Phui was sentenced to nine months in jail and ordered to be given one stroke of the cane after pleading guilty to outraging his victim’s modesty in the early hours of June 13 last year.

His total jail term comes to a year and includes punishment for setting fire to a stack of newspapers at a staircase landing a week earlier.

Phui also pleaded guilty to touching a 28-year-old woman’s leg through her bedroom window from a common corridor. A further charge, of molesting a 31-year-old woman in a lift on May 25, 2014, was taken into consideration.

Community Court Judge Mathew Joseph noted a medical report that said Phui was not suffering from any mental disorder but had intelligence in the borderline low range. This predisposes him to poor impulse control and loss of judgment, the report said.

On June 12 last year, Phui was fined $2,000 after pleading guilty to mischief in the corridor of Block 502, Jelapang Road on Dec 22, 2013. Then a waiter at karaoke chain K-Box, he had used his lighter to spark clothes hanging on a pole to “destress” after a shift. He was also ordered to pay $150 in compensation to his neighbours for the damage caused to their property, which included other items from another charge.

In 2006, Phui was convicted of outrage of modesty and placed on 24 months’ probation.

He will start serving his sentence on Feb 24, after the judge granted his request to defer this to after the Chinese New Year holidays. He is out on $15,000 bail.

For each count of molestation, he could have been jailed for up to two years, fined and caned.

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 22 ― An Australian woman alleging that she had been sexually assaulted by a Malaysia Airlines steward on an intercontinental flight has gone public about her ordeal.

Known only as Laura, the 26-year-old alleged that the chief steward on Malaysia Airlines flight MH20 from Kuala Lumpur to Paris on August 4 had attacked her during which she had been paralysed by fear, according to a report on News.com.au.

“I couldn’t stop it, I just froze, I was just scared,” the news site quoted her as saying in a interview expected to be to be aired on Australian television this weekend.

“I keep saying ‘why didn’t I scream, why didn’t I shout, why didn’t I stop it? I’m a strong person because I can, I can do that, I know I can, but when I was in the moment I couldn’t. I felt so scared, so petrified,” she was further quoted as saying.

Laura was reported to have recorded an exchange mid-flight in which a woman is heard crying and saying: “I’m so scared, I just want to get off this plane … I don’t want to see you, go away, you give me the creeps, you dirty old man.”

In a statement last week, Malaysia Airlines confirmed the allegations had been made were made and that a member of staff had been detained by French police.

“We will naturally assist the French authorities as they conduct their investigation and would stress that the safety, comfort and well-being of our passengers is always our highest priority,” it said.

While the airline gave no other details about the member of staff arrested, the Australian news site said the chief steward is married with children remains in the custody of French police after “making admissions.”

The story comes at a time when the struggling airline is on its knees after successive years of losses and is now being taken over by the government.

The national carrier has also been in the spotlight for two tragedies this year.

In March, Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing carrying 239 people on board disappeared from the skies in what is believed to be among the greatest mysteries of modern aviation. The jetliner remains missing and everyone on board is believed to be dead.

Mid-July, Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur was shot down over Ukrainian airspace, killing all 283 people on board.-tmmOnline

  • Old Man Finds Boy “Very Cute and Handsome”, Then Molest Him at Void Deck

Old Man Finds Boy “Very Cute and Handsome”, Then Molest Him at Void Deck

    pedophile

SINGAPORE: A 10-year-old boy who was sitting at the void deck and playing with his handphone was molested repeatedly despite pushing his perpetrator away.

The perpetrator, Teo Koon Tian, 57, was sentenced to 20 months’ jail on Thursday (Aug 7). At about 4pm on July 18 this year, Teo purchased three cans of beer from a provision shop and was drinking at the void deck. As he was drinking, he spotted the boy, who cannot be named as he is a minor.

Teo told the boy that he was “very cute and handsome” and touched him on the cheeks. However, the boy ignored Teo and continued to play with his handphone. Teo then walked around the void deck and touched the boy’s cheeks again, and the boy once again ignored him.

Subsequently, Teo sat behind the boy and used his right hand and patted and rubbed the boy’s left thigh. Though the boy immediately pushed his hand away, Teo continued to use his right hand to touch the boy’s thigh, proceeding higher up the thigh. The boy was very scared when Teo touched him, the court heard. The boy continued to push Teo’s hand away, after which Teo walked away.

The boy then immediately went back home and told his elder sister about the incident. They went down to look for Teo but could not find him. They later called their mother and filed a police report that night.

During the hearing, Deputy Public Prosecutor Joshua Lim argued that the offence was committed in broad daylight and the boy was “simply trusting in the safety and security of his own housing estate”.

“In no uncertain terms, he (Teo) has to be told that he has to pay for his crimes against innocent, vulnerable, defenceless young boys,” said Mr Lim.

He also urged the court to send the message that the criminal justice system will “come down hard” on child molesters who commit such offences. “You will be appropriately censured, castigated and dealt with,” added Mr Lim.
