Commentary: Native Born Singaporean Personally Offended By What Happened In McPherson

As a native born Singaporean , I am personally most offended by what happened in McPherson over the Open House Organised by the RC.

For this scandalous incident to happen in a PAP ward will lend weight to the suspicion of many Singaporeans that the PAP favour New Citizens over indigenous Singaporeans . Even before this scandalous incident, many Singaporeans already felt government policies discriminated them in favour of New Citizens and that they had become refugees in their own country.

I am not against New Citizens but I demand that all Singaporeans be treated equally!

I do not accept the reasons given by the RC for this scandalous incident. Grassroot leaders should have known it was highly insensitive to have treated Singaporeans in this manner. And given the huge influx of New Citizens into our country , their advisor which was Ms Tin Pei Ling herself should have ensured that the RCs in her constituency treated all Singaporeans, including New Citizens, equally . Merely saying that she was upset over the incident is a totally inadequate response.

  • Macpherson RC Apologises For Charging New Citizens Less Than Singaporeans, For Community Event

Macpherson RC Apologises For Charging New Citizens Less Than Singaporeans, For Community Event

A Residents’ Committee (RC) in MacPherson constituency that drew flak from residents for charging Singaporeans three times more than “new citizens” for tickets to a community event has apologised and offered refunds to all who attended the event.

The RC charged citizens $3 and new citizens $1 for an open house held last Sunday (30 July).

The move also left MacPherson’s Member of Parliament Tin Pei Ling “very upset”.

A statement posted on the MacPherson RC Zone B page on Thursday (3 Aug) said the move had no “ill intent” and recognised that it was an “unwise decision”. It explained, “We thought that a lower ticket price will encourage more new citizens to come forward. In doing so, we have neglected the feelings of the majority of our residents. It was a once-off decision by our committee to charge differently and definitely not a policy of the MacPherson grassroots.”

It added, “As fellow residents, we have never harboured any intent of discriminating fellow citizens.”

Tin said the mistake “should not have happened”. Referring to the incident, she wrote on Facebook, “We have counseled the RC and tightened the internal vetting process. The RC had no ill intention but still, it was a mistake that should not have happened.”

  • Macpherson RC Photo Prove That Singaporeans Are Second Class Compared To The New Citizens

Macpherson RC Photo Prove That Singaporeans Are Second Class Compared To The New Citizens

Singaporeans are sick and tired of being made second class citizens in their own home.

We thought we had made it clear in 2011 that we want the rampant immigration and the social problems it causes to be rolled back, but it seems that after the 2015 elections, the PAP are back to their old ways.

When I first moved into my estate 20 years ago, I remember being greeted very often by my local Singaporean RC chairman and his members. They were always so helpful and anyone who talked with them felt at ease. National Days back then felt genuinely patriotic. We would gather and sing songs over food with neighbours from all the races, Malay, Indian, Eurasian you name it!

But as the years go by, I saw my RC members less and less. Some retired, some moved out. New committee members replaced them. In recent years, I even see an increase in RC members of questionable nationalities joining.

These days when I walk into my RC, I can no longer hear the graceful melodies of Teresa Teng being sung by our local aunties! The Karaoke Rooms are quiet, and the meeting rooms are quiet. RCs these days are more like places for people to ingratiate themselves with the PAP MP and their volunteers. Even these volunteers, many of them are unashamedly new citizens!

Where has Singapore’s Gotong Royong spirit gone?

I saw this picture and felt inspired to lament the passing on of Singapore’s golden generation. We are really living in desperate times.

  • Lee Hsien Loong: New Citizens Can Help Write The Singapore Story Together

Lee Hsien Loong: New Citizens Can Help Write The Singapore Story Together

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has called on new Singapore citizens to play their part, as they now help to write the Singapore story together.

He was speaking at a citizenship ceremony held at the Teck Ghee Community Club, in his Ang Mo Kio constituency this morning (Oct 24), where about 200 new citizens from Ang Mo Kio and Sengkang West received their citizenship certificates.

“Add your own distinct experiences, skills, abilities – contribute to the Singapore story and together, make a better future here for all of us,” said Mr Lee, as he addressed the new citizens.

The Prime Minister noted that many of the new citizens come from different backgrounds, but spent time in the country and decided to make Singapore home.

Mr Lee said that he hoped that this was not just because Singapore is a comfortable or safe place to bring up their families, but because they believe in what Singapore stands for: A multi-racial society, a nation of opportunity, a fair and just society, and a place where tomorrow will always be better than today.

“This is what we have been celebrating this year at SG50,” said Mr Lee, who pointed out how the country’s forefathers slogged so that the next generation can have better lives.

“We commit ourselves to continue to build on what they have done, to continue striving always to do better, always to take Singapore forward.”

New SG Citizen From Malaysia Says PAP Like UMNO Now

Quote : “… How PRs from Malaysia milk our system…”

I believe the author got an agenda in the articles, by pitting ordinary Singaporeans with Malaysian.

Come on, to be fair, it is not just the Malaysians but other nationalities, like PRCs, India Indians, Pignoys, Vietnamese, Burmese who are milking the system? And who allow it in the 1st place – our useless garment?

In fact, comparing Malaysians and other nationalities, I believe Malaysians are more integrated with Singaporeans (as old Cow says so), as Singapore was formally part of Malaysia.

So, I believe it is the pap dog trying to split Singaporeans and Malaysians Chinese/Indian new citizens in the coming GE.

As you can see from fact, why did the useless garment, drawing immigration from the traditional sources like Malaysia/Indonesia up to the late 1990s; to suddenly changed tack and admit other nationalities, like PRCs, India Indians, Pignoys, Vietnamese, Burmese, in large numbers (tens of thousands) as new citizens.

Well, the white monkeys are doing the divide and rule strategy, as they are afraid of the big block of Malaysian voters voting for the opposition parties in the future; just like in Malaysia elections.

So, don’t be fooled by this article. Malaysian new citizens and ordinary Singaporeans should stay united, and vote out the useless garment (just like UMNO, practising cronyism), come the next GE, for a better Singapore.

I believe it is the Malaysian new citizens’ votes that swings the PE by-election to WP favour.

    New citizen from Malaysia.
