Ridjal Noor: Why Malay/Muslim Community Largely Apathetic Over Ramadan Bazaar Issue?

    The first question:
Why are some quarters in the community so busy defending the issue of the bazaar Ramadan? Every day campaigning and raising questions, and brainstorming for solutions.

Because they are trying to preserve the quality and feel and integrity of this yearly bazaar that’s special and unique to the community.

    The second question:
But if the community feels so strongly against what’s happening today, then just vote with your spending dollar lah, right? Don’t spend there and the organisers will learn their lesson and learn to respect the laws of the land, correct? People power and all that, right?

Unfortunately, no. This is the hardest of change to bring about.

This is why only some quarters are campaigning. The rest are still happily, blissfully ignorantly heading down and voting with their dollars that they don’t care. The herds and their mentality. Sometimes it seems, you just can’t save the community from itself.

They accept the erosion of values over time without batting an eyelid. They only stop to make viral make viral certain issues. Other than that they steamroll over every bump in the road and move on undeterred, uncaring for the issues dear at heart to the community at large.

So I agree with Sadali Ami. The community gets the leaders it deserves. And you can’t save the community from itself.

  • Ridjal Noor: 10 Mistakes Of Malay F&B Businesses

Mari kita selidik some of the reasons:
(jangan marah kalau sentap, gunakan untuk muhasabah diri sama-sama.)

    1. Suka buang muka kat customer. Tak faham langsung tentang mechanics of energy dan aura.

    2. Tak sabar dengan customer. Beri $50 pun salah, beri syiling pun salah. Tapi takde PayWave. Lebih suka PayHalau. Halau customer yang takde exact change.

    3. Suka duduk berhinggap di meja depan gerai dan bersembang dengan members. Customer datang survey, dia buat bodoh, buat dek aje.

    4. Suka marah-marah. Terpekik-pekau. Dia dengan dia. Customer pun buat u-turn dan cabut.

    5. Display makanan tanpa ada label. Ini lauk apa, itu lauk apa. Bukan kerja susah, cuma dia fikir semua orang sepatutnya tahu. Kalau customer tanya, dia marah.

    6. Display menu dan signboard dari 10 tahun lalu. Sini pangkah sana pangkah, macam Ali Baba dan gengnya tengah planning nak serbu gerai dia malam nanti.

    7. Tak tahu apa tu marketing. Cuma tahu marketing tu pergi pasar beli sayur.

    8. Takde banner untuk nak tolong advertise gerai nya. Banyak kali, gerai nya terperuk kat satu corner. Tempat jin buat scissors kick.

    9. Terlalu mengharapkan word of mouth marketing. Kalau business teruk, salahkan “mesti ada orang buat kita”.

    10. Tak buat flyer marketing with call to action. Campak flyer di seluruh estate, letak di post box, di carpark kereta dan di pintu pangsapuri.

Rezeki itu beraliran. Ada Flow. Tersekat most of the time because we lack understanding of the minor minor things we do yang menghalau rezeki dan menghalau customer.

    Kalau setuju, sila share.

  • An Apology To Brother Ridjal Noor

An Apology To Brother Ridjal Noor

    Assalamualaikum wr wb.

To Those Who Are Reading This, Especially Ridjal Noor.

I would like to apologise to PullUpStand.com Pte Ltd, its director and owner, Mr Ridjal Noor, for allegations made based on testimonies I had received. Upon further investigation, the makers of these testimonies had since denied the allegations.

As a fellow human being, I trusted what was told to me as truth. I truly believed what was told to me. I have since realised the company and its director, were victims of a vicious attempt at causing damage to their reputation and business. I sincerely apologise for mistakably being an indirect agent towards this heinous cause.

I deeply apologise and will work towards making up for my mistake in believing and having trust in people who spread such allegations about this company and its director.

Ridjal Noor, thank you for being extremely cooperative, patient and understanding as we resolve this. I am looking forward to be your partner in bringing more good to the business world. Do consider me your brother, and we’ll work closely together from now onwards.

I seek your forgiveness for truly believing you were such a person. I deeply regret for having such thoughts of you based on such allegations made known to me.

I am foolish to believe people who I thought I trust. I will learn from this episode.

    Let’s heal, and together, prosper.

May Allah give us ease and strength, as we go through such struggles. Together, we stand.

Alhamdullilah for the hikmah and light of truth.

    Thanks and Warmest Regards
    Wassalam

  • Ridjal Noor: Youths Taking “Free-Agent” Route Will Be Lost Generation Of Tomorrow

Ridjal Noor: Youths Taking “Free-Agent” Route Will Be Lost Generation Of Tomorrow

I fear the Uber/Grab/Deliveroo workforce of today will culminate in one of the biggest lost generation of tomorrow.

We need to work doubly hard to ensure that we don’t go through 10-20 years of having highly educated workforce doing menial labour without a long-term payoff.

No CPF, no benefits, medical, skills training, upgrading etc.

As it is today, the 40+ year old PMEs of today are struggling to find footing into the workforce again, once they get unseated from their jobs. It’s already so tough. But at least they have the 10-20 years of relevant experience to bolster their search.

The 20 year old degree holder who throws away a career path to go the Uber route (free agent) might have freedom today but should relentlessly prepare for life in the 40s. Keep learning and building always.

Ridjal Noor – The Singaporean Behind GCSE Text Studied In UK

When Mr Ridjal Noor, 36, first wrote “Anil”, a short story about a boy living in India, he never expected that it would one day be studied by students in the United Kingdom.

“Anil”, published in 2004, is about a seven-year-old boy who witnesses a murder in his village and faces a moral dilemma: Should he tell the truth?

He said: “I didn’t even spend that much time writing “Anil”. It’s just surreal that there are students out there spending hours studying what I wrote.”

Mr Ridjal, who was an engineering student and now runs his own display stand and publishing company, credits his polytechnic communications lecturer, Ms Shirley Joseph, for discovering his talent and encouraging him to pursue writing.
