Station Inspector Adam – A Dedicated 41-Year Old Police Veteran

For Station Inspector (SI) Adam Bin Abdul Rashid who joined the Singapore Police Force (SPF) on 18 July 1975, this year marks 41 years of service with the SPF.

Becoming a part of the pioneer batch of the Police Coast Guard’s elite Special Task Squadron that was formed in 1994 was a proud moment for SI Adam, who would never forget the numerous high-speed pursuits as well as intercepting hostile vessels that had intruded into Singapore’s territorial waters.

As a member of the SPF’s United Nations Peacekeeping Force, SI Adam has served in two United Nations peacekeeping missions. He first went to Cambodia in 1992 and then to East Timor in 2000.

SI Adam is now a trainer with Police Coast Guard (PCG) Training Centre, where he shares his wealth of knowledge and experience with new PCG officers.

For his 41 years of dedicated service to the Singapore Police Force, SI Adam was awarded the Police Service Medal on 3 November 2017 at the Home Team Academy.

The SPF Service Medals Presentation Ceremony is held annually to recognise the long and exemplary service, as well as good conduct of our officers. This year, 583 officers were awarded with the SPF Service Medals.

  • Over Representation Of One Particular Community In SPF And SCDF

Over Representation Of One Particular Community In SPF And SCDF

The truth of the matter is, our boys in the SCDF (especially the firemen) and the SPF are the ones who are doing national service for real.

Day in and day out they face real-life situations, risking their lives.

    And guess what?

One particular community is over represented in both the services – way above its national percentage.

But they hold only junior ranks even though many amongst them are not lacking in academic and physical qualifications.

Strangely though, the paper generals and admirals who never face real emergencies are the ones rewarded with juicy appointments, earning millions, when they leave the services – with some even becoming ministers.

7 Policemen Questioned 3 School Boys For Alleged Bicycle Theft

Is this another case of Benjamin Lim, a 14 year old boy who was questioned and intimidated by the Police for allegations that he had molested another girl? Why is there a need for 7 Police officers to question 3 school boys?

“Tidak perlu ke Palestin. Di sini juga ada kejadian yang sama. Tujuh orang pegawai polis menahan tiga orang budak sekolah rendah dengan tuduhan mencuri basikal sedangkan mereka (budak-budak) itu hanya menuggang basikal yang terbiar tanpa dikuci sekadar untuk berseronok.
(Tolong share agar polis menjalankan tugas mereka dgn lebih sempurna).”

Police Accused Of Illegally Parking To Buy Prata At River Valley

Facebook user Cinorom Elicebmi had posted four photos and two videos of what he claimed was a police officer illegally parking near Spize restaurant, at 409 River Valley Road, on Friday night.

In his post, which can no longer be accessed publicly, he wrote: “Share if you think Singapore Police Force is not above the laws… LTA has painted lamp posts and sign posts within closed-circuit television (CCTV) monitoring zones with bright orange vertical strips.”

He shared pictures of a police car parked next to a parking enforcement camera, and videos of a police officer standing along the row of shophouses.

“In tandem, ‘No Waiting’ signs at passenger pick-up points with CCTV cameras are installed to remind we motorists that we ‘commoners’ are not allowed to wait at these pick-up locations other than immediate boarding and alighting of passengers,” he wrote. “Today, this police officer blatantly (flouted) the above rule to do what? Buy roti prata!”

Another Facebook user YJ C-Yeang shared the post to the Singapore Police Force’s page on Saturday morning.

“This looks bad,” she wrote. “Maybe the officer was rushing and had his valid reasons. I do understand it’s a tough life in enforcement.”

The police replied to her, saying: “Hi YJ, our officers were indeed attending to an urgent case reported at 421 River Valley Road and had to quickly reach the incident location.”

They added that they seek the public’s understanding and urged the public “not to spread unsubstantiated information”.

The police told The Straits Times that the officer pictured and captured on video was not there to “buy prata”.

Instead, he was responding to a case of public nuisance and police officers attending to cases are allowed to park their vehicles where required.

Tin Pei Ling: SCDF And Police Officers Who Attended To Aljunied Crescent Fire Are Heroes

With (some of) our fire-fighting heroes! Many thanks for the quick and effective response from the SCDF and Police officers who came to put out the fire at Aljunied Crescent today! They were courageous and knew exactly what needed to be done. Affected neighbours of the burning unit were evacuated swiftly and the entire situation was under control very quickly. There is no casualty so far – thank goodness – and evacuated residents have returned home in batches. Kudos to our Home Team! 👍🏻
