Ex-SCDF Major Convicted Of Taking Upskirt Pictures Of Colleagues

SINGAPORE: A former Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) major was convicted on Wednesday (May 3) of two counts of insulting the modesty of a woman, after taking multiple upskirt videos of a 26-year-old colleague.

Poh Siok Peng, 45, admitted to taking the videos over two years at SCDF’s headquarters at Ubi Avenue 4 before he was caught in a sting operation involving hidden cameras in March last year.

Poh, a 20-year veteran of the force, met the victim in 2013 when she joined the SCDF. Both worked in the strategic planning department.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Chee Ee Ling said the victim sensed something amiss when Poh started to frequent her office cubicle “to chat”.

He would sit in front of her “in an awkward position” and bend down often “as if to reach for something under (the victim’s) desk”, DPP Chee said.

When the woman saw a flashing light under her desk one day as Poh chatted to her, she realised what was going on. She reported Poh to the director of manpower.

A sting operation involving hidden cameras positioned around the victim’s cubicle caught Poh in the act on Mar 9.

Poh’s phone was seized, and two upskirt videos of the victim, taken on Mar 4 and 9, were retrieved.

Poh later told the police he had been taking upskirt videos of the victim for two years before he was caught.

However, other videos he had taken of the victim were not recovered because Poh had sold his old mobile phones, he said.

He also confessed to taking an upskirt video of an unidentified woman on an escalator.

Poh said he would view the videos “in the wee hours of the night as a form of stress-relief”.

    POH “UNLIKELY TO RE-OFFEND”: LAWYER

DPP Chee argued that a jail term of at least six weeks was warranted.

However, Poh’s lawyer said the videos had not captured the victim’s “sensitive or private parts”, “only thighs”.

The lawyer urged the court to impose a fine or a jail term of less than four weeks, saying that Poh had been a young victim of a sexual crime but had since sought professional help. It was “unlikely he will re-offend in future”, the lawyer added.

Poh, who is married with two children, will be sentenced on May 17.

For insulting the modesty of a woman, Poh could be jailed for up to one year and fined.

Love Sungei Road? #iloveSungeiRoad, Give Development The Middle Finger

“I Love Sungei Road” so I spent a Saturday afternoon trying to get the vendors to express their loss and anger at having to lose their rice bowl but all except for two vendors were unwilling or afraid to show their displeasure. It is a documentation of a state of mind, of fear of speaking up and the invisible OB markers.

I know, I know it will most likely be a lost cause, but I’m not ready to give up without trying. I feel for the place and only hope that it can somehow be saved.

It is a place I used to visit as a youth to pick up rare and vintage sneakers in an inexpensive bid to set myself apart from my peers who were splurging hundreds of dollars on limited release apparel. A place I visited for really cheap albeit slightly mouldy camera equipment as a student. It is also where I found a rare copy of Versace’s lookbook featuring work shot by the legendary Richard Avedon for $1 !!! Where do we go when it is closed? How many of the hawkers would get help and subsidised rental when its gone? 🙁

So #iloveSungeiRoad with your middle fingers if you feel that Singapore is changing too fast and if you feel for the hawkers and vendors being left behind in our push to change everything good and authentic.

Send in yourself with middle fingers at Sungei Road and I’ll publish them on instagram as well as here. Do send your images to [email protected]m

    Thank you for your support!

  • Singaporean Tourist Ignores Locals’ Warnings, Ended Up Bitten By Komodo Dragon

Singaporean Tourist Ignores Locals’ Warnings, Ended Up Bitten By Komodo Dragon

A 50-year-old tourist from Singapore was attacked by a Komodo dragon in West Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara, on Wednesday morning.

Lon Lee Alle, who was in the area to visit the Komodo National Park, was severely injured by a bite on his left leg.

According to the park’s head, Sudiyono, Alle was initially watching several Komodos eating pigs and goats belonging to villagers. He approached the animals to take pictures, ignoring locals’ warning that he should not go too close.

“He must have been too close. A Komodo doesn’t like to be disturbed when eating,” Sudiyono told The Jakarta  Post.

Locals immediately helped pull Alle away from the crowd of Komodos and rushed him to the nearby medical center where he got first aid. Alle was then taken to the Siloam General Hospital using a military speed boat.

“This is the first incident of human being bitten by a Komodo dragon in the past five years,” Sudiyono said.

He added that the Singaporean had stayed with locals for three days to save costs.

“The incident took place away from the area set by us where tourists are allowed to observe Komodos. I also appeal to all tourists to take guides with you when wandering around to see Komodo dragons. Never risk your safety by staying with locals and watching Komodos without an official guide only for the sake of your budget,” Sudiyono said.

  • Pasir Ris Neighbour Disputes Account, Provides Own Version Of Story

Pasir Ris Neighbour Disputes Account, Provides Own Version Of Story

STOMP today published a story of an ongoing dispute between two neighbours in Pasir Ris titled, ‘Who needs enemies… when you have neighbours from hell like these?‘. The article quotes a STOMPER living on the 5th floor of Block 628 Pasir Ris saying she has been terrorised by a family living on the same floor.

The neighbour claimed: “They always shout vulgarities, stand outside the corridor, attack/push/hit their neighbours next door.”

Several readers who responded to STOMP’s video on the dispute in their Facebook, pointed out that the video was very one-sided. Facebook user David Lim, who claimed to be the neighbour  described as ‘from hell’ in the article, also responded to the post to tell his side of the story.

  • Malaysian Foodpanda Rider Stealing Singaporeans’ Rice Bowl, So Citizens Should Steal Each Others’ To Survive

Malaysian Foodpanda Rider Stealing Singaporeans’ Rice Bowl, So Citizens Should Steal Each Others’ To Survive

However shocking it is to hear our Prime Minister lecturing our own working citizens to “steal other people’s lunch boxes” in this year May Day celebration, it is apparently clear that that has to be done. Look, even Malaysians are taking up food delivery jobs using Msia-plate motorbikes.

More riders, more competition, means more effort and hard work. Malaysian with msia-plate motorbikes has more advantage compared to Singaporeans using Singapore registered bikes right? How do one work hard enough to become abang Foodpanda that earns 4k then?

And what is the norm in Singapore nowadays?

PAP stealing from citizens, PAP keep inviting foreigners here to steal jobs from citizens, and now citizens have to start stealing from other citizens to survive?

Ownself protect interest of ownself ke? Lie, cheat and steal too? Haramjah betol.
