  • Pinoy Lawyer Thinks Ello’s Account Hacked By SG

Pinoy Lawyer Thinks Ello’s Account Hacked By SG

A Filipino site, ManilaSpeak.com, recently interviewed their “foreign law expert”, Attorney Joyce Domingo Dapat, with regard to the arrest of Edz Ello in Singapore [Link].

ManilaSpeak is said to be “an aggregator of great minds” [Link]. The site aims to bring together the “most dynamic” Filipino opinion-makers.

“ManilaSpeak was borne out of a desire to give readers intellectual, well-researched opinion. We hope to influence movers and shakers – from leaders of the nation to leaders in lifestyle – in our own humble way,” the site says.

ManilaSpeak wrote, “A Filipino registered nurse, Edz Ello, who is working in Singapore is now facing a unique kind of case. He was arrested due to an alleged Facebook post that maligned Singaporeans. He is now being charged with sedition and lying by the police and was laid off from work by the Tan Tock Seng Hospital.”

In the interview, the Attorney, Ms Dapat, said that what Tan Tock Seng Hospital “did to” Mr Ello may be considered unjust because “there should be a proper charge with evidence related to his work, not merely a comment on Singapore as a whole”.

“If no one saw him type the post, then how can they be sure that his account was indeed not hacked? This is a professional we are talking about. How come his spelling in the post is atrocious? Something does not connect,” she said.

Subsequently, the Singapore police spent some time doing digital forensic analysis of the computing devices Mr Ello used as well as examining server logs (‘FT investigation delay due to ‘digital forensic analysis’‘).

But Ms Dapat rebutted, “They still cannot prove that he was the one who typed the post. Also the tone of the post resembles Singaporean speech and spelling.” Ms Dapat seems to imply that it was a Singaporean behind those posts instead.

The following is the seditious post allegedly made by Mr Ello:

Ms Dapat said that the hospital’s move to lay off Edz Ello is unjust given that nothing has been proven yet.

“I guess they did it because of fear that their reputation will suffer. A similar case occurred when another person posted disparaging remarks against the prime minister. There was no due process, he was similarly just removed from work,” she said.

Ms Dapat felt that it was wrong to impound Mr Ello’s passport.

“This is a violation of the right to travel if the person has not yet been convicted and is not in the black list. This is a basic violation of human rights,” she said.

With regard to the $10,000 bail set for Mr Ello’s case, Ms Dapat said, “The biggest mistake of Mr. Ello was that he lied to the police. But then again, maybe he was scared. He is still young. Imagine you’re in a different country then suddenly somebody is arresting you. Of course, you would be afraid. So the bail was doubled. SGD5,000 for sedition and SGD5,000 for lying.”

Ms Dapat thinks it would be difficult for Singapore to prove sedition.

“Also cybercrime is so hard to prove. Also, all those who saw the post but did not report it may also be called conspirators. What’s important in the proving sedition is proving intent to wreak havoc in Singapore,” she said.

Finally, Ms Dapat seems to think that Filipinos are “diligent” and “speak better English”. She also thinks that Filipino is one of the 4 major races in Singapore.

She said, “According to our kababayans, Singaporeans really look at Filipinos as their competition given that we are diligent and speak better English. You really have to be careful about what you say. Also you have to consider that there are an average of 4 different cultures in that country: Indians, Malaysians, Chinese, and Filipinos. You have to be careful not to offend anyone with your remarks.”

In any case, Ms Dapat might wish to know that Edz Ello has confessed that he made the 3 offending posts. As TTSH said on 9 January 2015:

  • British FT At TTSH Talks Down To Low-Income Patients

British FT At TTSH Talks Down To Low-Income Patients

    Dear Mrs Tan,

Please refer to the attached letter from SSO. I visited the Podiatry Department of TTSH last Wednesday for an appointment fixed by their Orthopedic Department with the letter but was shocked to receive an extremely hostile attitude by the HOD Dorcas Sholanke (https://www.facebook.com/dorcas.sholanke).

The Podiatry Department called up their Medical Social Services to inquire on the validity of the SSO letter to which the MSW retorted that it is not updated in their system and they do not “recognize” SSO statement of their card’s ability to be utilized at all restructured hospitals. Hence, the MSW accordingly rejected the notion of their Podiatry colleague’s request for a “pending memo” so they can proceed with my treatment.

When that occurred, the Podiatry HOD came to speak with me in a very intimidating and elitist manner that she can only fix an appointment for me to see podiatry again in a few months time, provided I clear the issue with SSO or she will proceed to cancel all my treatment plans and close the file. She also demanded that I pay for the day’s consultation or she will terminate even that consultation and I will have to pay afresh again when I return.

Appalled at what was happening in a “public hospital”, I took out my camera and wanted to record all her threats so I can let you witness firsthand, what is truly happening on the grounds of your hospitals. She then quickly proceeded to violently snatched my phone but I was lucky enough to dodge it.

I later spoke to the duty manager of the day who assured me that her behavior will be looked into but I have not heard from TTSH to this very day. I do not know and wonder, how many more Singaporeans out there like myself were treated in such a manner in our own country’s healthcare institutions while I witnessed many foreign patients at the same institution being treated first class.

I also saw on that same day at TTSH, how a foreigner who parked illegally at the Podiatry department was able to possess negotiating powers for them to amicably and unconditionally release his clamped wheels.

    TTSH Podiatry HOD

    Yours faithfully,

    DDC

  • Tan Tock Seng Hospital Sacks Insolent Filipino Staff Ello Ed Mundsell Bello

Tan Tock Seng Hospital Sacks Insolent Filipino Staff Ello Ed Mundsell Bello

Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) has fired nurse Ello Ed Mundsel Bello for making “offensive online comments”. The hospital announced this in a Facebook post on Friday (Jan 9).

The hospital had reviewed three online posts made by him in 2014 that touched on race and religion. One was an “offensive Facebook comment on Singapore”, while the other two comments on religion were made on his Google Plus page, TTSH said.

“Mr Bello has confirmed that he had made these three posts,” the hospital said, describing the comments as “highly irresponsible and offensive to Singapore and religion”.

“His conduct goes against our staff values of respect, professionalism and social responsibility. As a public healthcare institution, we take a very serious view and have zero tolerance on conduct that is offensive and detrimental to multi-cultural harmony in Singapore,” said TTSH.

The employee in question had joined the hospital in Oct last year and was under probation. TTSH had said on Jan 4 on its Facebook page that Mr Bello had claimed that his Facebook account was hacked.

A day later on Jan 5, the hospital made another posting that described this as a “serious matter” and that it does not “condone behaviours or comments that are irresponsible and offensive, and will take the appropriate disciplinary action where necessary”.

The dismissal is independent of the ongoing police investigation of alleged posts made in January 2015, the hospital added. “We are still in full cooperation with the police on the alleged comments”.

  • Tan Tock Seng Hospital Emloyees Comprise Of Almost 80% Filipinos

Tan Tock Seng Hospital Emloyees Comprise Of Almost 80% Filipinos

Filipino workers comprise 70 to 80 percent of the staff at the Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

This was the shocking revelation in a report in Chinese media yesterday.

According to a staff at the hospital, she said that 70 to 80 percent of the staff at the hospital are made up of Filipinos but the working relationship is cordial.

The staff also said, “The professionalism of the Filipinos is not an issue. There are some of them who are outstanding as well.

“However, the discussion online (about Edz Ello) might affect their relationship with their Singaporean co-workers.”

A few days ago, a screenshot of what Edz Ello had written on his Facebook account took Singapore by storm.

“Now the Singaporeans are loosers in their own country, we take their jobs, their future, their women, and soon, we will evict all SG loosers out of their own country hahaha,” he had said.

“The best part, I will be praying that disators strike Singapore and more Singaporeans will die than I will celebrate.

“REMEMBER PINOY BETTER AND STRONGER THAN STINKAPOREANS,” he said.

    Edz Ello is a Filipino.

It was later discovered that he works at the Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

Tan Tock Seng Hospital later also acknowledged so: “Dear all, the staff concerned is one of our nurses.

But it also said: “He has reported to the police that his Facebook account has been hacked. We are cooperating with the police on the investigation. Thank you for the alerts and concern.”

This caused another storm where netizens criticised Tan Tock Seng for still harbouring a person who has threatened Singaporeans with death.

“Dear Pinoy friends, if you hate SG locals click like, if you want to see them dead click like, true pinoy supporters lets kick their people out of their own country click like hahaha,” Edz Ello had also said.

Netizens also compared how Tan Tock Seng had brazenly fired Roy Ngerng, who was previously working as an administrator at the hospital, even though he had not yet been found to have defamed the prime minister then.

Moreover, he had also spoken up for Singaporeans for their Central Provident Fund (CPF).

However, netizens compared the action of Edz Ello who had evidently threatened Singaporeans but was not fired.

Instead, in a latest Facebook update, the hospital only said, “The nurse is currently put on administrative duties, pending police investigations.”

But the gravity of Edz Ello’s conduct and the relatively casual treatment towards him have shocked Singaporeans.

Some have questioned if the administrator who manages the hospital’s Facebook page is also a Filipino.

Indeed, where it has now been revealed that 70 to 80 percent of the staff at the Tan Tock Seng Hospital are Filipino, this has become a cause for concern.

Questions are now abound as to why the hospital would hire such a high proportion of Filipino workers and asked if Singaporeans are not qualified enough to fill the job requirements.

Moreover, questions are also now being asked if a similarly high proportion of Filipinos, or foreigners, also make up the bulk of workers in the other healthcare institutions.

In fact, for the service industry, companies are only allowed to have foreign workers make up 40 percent of their headcount.

Moreover, the foreign worker quota of 40 percent only applies to work permits and S passes. Employment passes (E passes) are not subject to these quotas. If so, does this also mean that there are many Filipinos who are also hired on E passes so as to circumvent the system?

Is the Tan Tock Seng Hospital going too far as to deprive Singaporeans of their jobs, just so to cut costs?

In addition, if Filipino workers already make up 70 to 80 percent of the workers in Tan Tock Seng, and this is not yet including foreign workers from other nationalities, then how many foreign workers are exactly working in the hospital, or other healthcare institutions for that matter?

And how many Singaporeans are being deprived of healthcare jobs because of that?

If so, not only does this put the question onto why the Tan Tock Seng Hospital would hire so many foreign workers and the ethics of doing so, this also places the question on the Ministry of Manpower – why did it not do its job?

Why are Singaporean workers not being hired and why has the Ministry of Manpower not taken active enforcement action?

  • Sakit Gout Kerana Kurang Minum Air

Sakit Gout Kerana Kurang Minum Air
