Fatal ‘Hit-And-Run’ Accident On SLE Involving 23-Year-Old Rider; Police Investigating

A 23-year-old male motorcyclist died in a hit-and-run accident on Seletar Expressway (SLE) on Sunday (Sept 10) afternoon.

Police were alerted to the accident, which occurred in the direction of Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE), at 1.33pm.

The motorcyclist was taken unconscious to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH).

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said he had suffered from traumatic arrest – which meant his heart stopped beating – and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) was administered en route to the hospital.

The hospital was alerted to be on standby to receive him. He later succumbed to his injuries.

The Straits Times understands he suffered a head injury and a fractured left arm.

His pillion rider, a 22-year-old man, was conscious when taken to KTPH, and had abrasions on his left limb.

    Police investigations are ongoing.

At 1.59pm, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) tweeted about the accident, saying there was “congestion” until the Woodlands Avenue 2 exit, and that motorists should avoid the second and third lanes.

There was still heavy traffic as of 4.01pm.

  • 3 Britons Of Vietnamese Descent Charged With Gang-Raping Woman In Singapore

3 Britons Of Vietnamese Descent Charged With Gang-Raping Woman In Singapore

Three British men were charged in Singapore on Tuesday (Aug 1) for allegedly gang-raping a 23-year-old woman while visiting the country for a bachelor party.

Khong Tam Thanh, 22, Le Michael, 24, and Vu Thai Son, 24, face up to 20 years in jail and caning if found guilty of assaulting the Malaysian woman while she was drunk and unconscious at the end of the night out.

All three, British citizens of Vietnamese descent, deny the allegations.

In an opening statement, prosecutors said the defendants were in Singapore in September as part of a group of nine for a bachelor party, and attended an electronic music festival called Ultra Singapore.

The groom, the brother of Khong, was also on the trip.

They met the woman in a popular nightspot, where she had been partying with a friend.

After she had agreed to have sex with one of their friends, a British citizen of Vietnamese origin identified as Richard Ahn, he took her to his room at Carlton Hotel on Bras Basah Road.

After the pair had sex, Khong, Le and Vu took turns to enter the room and raped the woman as she lay drunk and unconscious, the court heard.

“Having consented to having sexual intercourse with one individual, she was then raped by three other men,” deputy public prosector G Kannan told the High Court.

“Intoxicated and asleep, she was unaware of what was going on around her. She was taken advantage of and raped in quick succession by the three.”

The men took care to make as little noise as possible but the victim woke up as Le assaulted her, the court heard.

They all face one count each of raping the alleged victim in the early hours of Sep 10 last year. Khong and Vu, who work as beauticians in Britain, face additional charges of sexual assault by digital penetration. Le is unemployed.

Ahn, 24, absconded while under investigation. The victim, who lives in Johor Baru, cannot be named because of a court order protecting her identity.

  • Why SPF Did Not Take My Call On Unconcious Foreign Worker Seriously?

Why SPF Did Not Take My Call On Unconcious Foreign Worker Seriously?

I called 999 on 23 august 2015 at 9.21pm to request for help as i saw an foreign worker fall down out of sudden while sweeping leaves on the grass patch and was unconscioused even when i tried to ask him if he is alright.

Shortly after,I received a call at 9.24pm, a police officer from bedok north npc, asked me loads of questions with a few times of laughter in between the conversation and even suspect me as a foul play.

This is a matter of life and death as the person leg was trembling and i request for officer to come down to assist me but till the ambulance arrived and access the patient to leave for hospital, i did not see any police officer came to the scene to assist.

So, may i know what is going on? Police station is so nearby yet none of the police bothered to come over? And suspecting me calling 999 as foul play? I arent that free to do such childish nonsense act!
