JAKIM: Allah Hina Rakyat Yang Tidak Hormat Pemimpin

KUALA LUMPUR, 11 Mac ― Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia (Jakim) mengingatkan umat Islam agar mentaati pemimpin kerana ia salah satu perintah Allah.

Sultan Mosque: We Will Investigate Staff Who Chased Congregants Out

Salam everybody. Here’s an update, a pegawai executive from Masjid Sultan contacted me and he will look into this matter and investigate it with his staffs.

He ensured that in the future the staffs will not repeat the same mistake.

I hope everyone understand that this is because of an individual. I may be harsh with my last line to fault the whole organization but it does reflect them.

  • MUIS – It Is Not Justifiable For Sultan Mosque To Chase Us Out Because A Minister Is Visiting

MUIS – It Is Not Justifiable For Sultan Mosque To Chase Us Out Because A Minister Is Visiting

    Dear Sultan Mosque – Singapore.

My friends and I were chased out of your public praying area by one of your staff around 5pm because a “minister” was visiting your premises. After our (5 of us) Asr prayers we sat down for a discussion about Islam matters and fiqh. Out of a sudden one of your staff came to us and told us to leave the premise because “5 or more people sitting in the prayer hall is an offence”.

Since when is this a rule in Allah’s house. What make matter worse when he go on and on about Isis and illegal gathering. As this is Allah’s house my friends and I just want to leave the hall without any unnecessary argument.

As we were taking our belongings to leave he added “as there will be a minister visiting this mosque, it is advisable for you guys to leave because this might be an ugly sight for the minister and the mosque.”

You know what? May Allah judge you and your organization for this appalling incident and niat. So a minister is greater than Allah?

    ITTAQULLAH!

  • Muslims To Contribute More To Mosque Building And Mendaki Fund From June

Muslims To Contribute More To Mosque Building And Mendaki Fund From June

Starting Jun 1, monthly contributions by Muslims to the Mosque Building and Mendaki Fund (MBMF) will be raised by between S$1 and S$10.

The increase, announced by Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs Dr Yaacob Ibrahim at the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore’s (MUIS) Workplan Seminar on Saturday (Mar 12), is the first revision to contributions since 2009.

Four additional tiers have been added for those earning between S$4,000 and S$10,000.

Muslims earning below S$1,000 as well as those earning between S$1,000 and S$2,000 will pay S$1 more, bringing their monthly contribution to S$3 and S$4.50, respectively. The contributions progressively increase based on eight income bands, up to a maximum of S$26 for those earning above S$10,000, an increase of S$10 from the current monthly contribution.

“The revision will allow us to raise an addition of at least S$6 million every year and this will go a long way to improve the socio-religious life of our community,” Dr Yaacob said.

The MBMF has enabled the upgrading of 17 mosques adding 4,700 prayer spaces, as well as contributed to the building of new mosques such as the Al-Islah Mosque in Punggol, he said. The fund has also helped to enhance madrasah education and support parents with school-going children.

MUIS said higher contributions will help ensure the timely completion of future mosque development and upgrading projects. The increase will also boost funding for Mendaki, which has dipped into its reserves since 2013 to expand its educational programmes and meet rising costs, it said.

  • Zulfikar Shariff: Racism In Singapore Is Not New

Zulfikar Shariff: Racism In Singapore Is Not New

There seems to be more and more posts how Malays and Indians are treated by some racists in Singapura.

Whether it is about a Chinese woman moving away with irritation from an Indian man who sat beside her on the MRT..

a Malay man “paid” $20 to move away from a table because the payer’s children do not want to sit beside a Malay..

A Hijabi told she had to remove her hijab if she worked at a Montessori preschool because Chinese children will be scared if she wore her hijab…

An older Chinese man in Jurong who pulls off hijab of Muslim women who walk past…

And some of us assume there is a change….that Singapura is becoming more racist.

    No it is not.

Racism has been there for a long time. I still remember being called “kiao tor” (dig mud/ skin like mud) from when I was a kid…

Used to work in sales and when I spoke with prospects in English..being told “if you cannot speak Chinese don’t talk to me”…

Told “this is Chinese country why dont you speak Chinese?”

When I worked for a shipping company…my Chinese colleague telling me that there was no way Malays and Indians would be promoted…

When I told him a senior manager is Indian he replied…”because he has 7 different degrees. Dont think we would promote Indian if his qualification is the same with a Chinese”…

My 15 year old Malay neighbour giving up and asked me why I bother to take A Levels….and said..

“why do you bother to study? we are Malays…we cannot go anywhere” (Kau belajar tinggi tinggi buat apa? kita Melayu…tak boleh pergi mana mana).

Applying to join the Navy when I was in school and told when I submitted the papers… not to bother because I am Muslim.

Relatives told to remove hijab at work because their bosses do not like it.

Hearing Chinese friends tell a joke “what do you call an Indian under a tree? Fertilizer”.

And lots of other similar comments.

Racism in Singapura is not new.

There is no change to a more racist society.

What changed is that there is now social media to show its existence.
