SERI ISKANDAR: Former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad today suggested the removal of the Johor causeway in order to build the Friendship Bridge proposed by the government.

He said the Johor causeway causes various problems, mainly involving environmental issues and traffic congestion, in Johor Baharu.

“If it is a bridge, then what need is there for a causeway? The causeway prevents water from flowing across and also it is very dirty.

“It causes the sea to be very dirty, and there is a very big traffic jam in Johor Baharu because the bridge not being built,” he told reporters after giving a public lecture on ‘Leaders in Today’s Society: Issues, Challenges and the Way Forward’ at Universiti Teknologi Petronas here.

Mahathir said he hoped that the government would not build a bridge elsewhere and then leave the present bridge in place because that would not solve the problem of traffic congestion in Johor.

  • Infiltration of LGBTQ Movement in Schools

DEAR PARENTS, LGBTIQ MAKING INROADS TO OUR SCHOOLS

Received this message in my inbox today,

“A group of us parents share the concern re LGBT movement. I’d like to share the latest from another parent.

Hi all, received the info below from a friend.
♢”Brothers and sisters there is another attempt by the LGBT community to exert their influence in Singapore , this time targeting our secondary school children. A new comic book called ‘the school never asked ‘was published by The Substation that discusses teenage life and love. It’s like Teenage Textbook in the nineties except that the characters consists of a straight, a bisexual and a gay. I have browsed through briefly and the contents are disturbing and causes my spiritual man to recoil both in shock and in sadness. Its subtlety and frankness is what will draw young impressionable minds, worst it is downloadable over the internet FOC. For those of us with teens, the battle lines have been drawn. Let us make our stand clear that we do not support it whether in the name of art or sexual education .

The URL of the comic book is http://theschoolneverasked.com/ “

  • Stalker Asks Mum of Victim “Can I have sex?”

    handcuffed1

A man was jailed 12 weeks on Wednesday for insulting the modesty of a teenager.

Mohamed Haryfan Mohd Razali, 21, who faced four charges, admitted to uttering words with intent to insult the modesty of the 19-year-old in 2011, and for peeping at her on May 12 last year, reports The Straits Times.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Joshua Lim said in July 2011, Haryfan was at the void deck of his block in Pasir Ris when he saw the victim walking past him and was instantly attracted to her looks. He saw her enter her unit and took note of the address.

From then until his arrest in May last year, he visited the teen’s home six to eight times, causing the family much distress.

The victim and her 44-year-old mother made numerous police reports but were unable to ascertain his identity.

Eventually, police installed a pin-hole camera outside her unit in March last year. The footage captured on the camera led to Haryfan’s arrest on May 18.

Mr Lim said on Aug 3, 2011, the victim was about to sleep sometime past 1am when she heard a sound coming from the direction of her room window.

The victim put on her glasses and ran to her mother’s bedroom. They saw the silhouette of Haryfan moving along the corridor.

Haryfan meddled with the main door, which swung open by about 15cm.

When the victim’s mother shouted in Malay, ‘Who was that?’, Haryfan replied: “Nak main boleh tak” which means “Can (I) have sex”.

On May 12 last year, the victim was sleeping at around 5am when she was awakened by a sound from the room window.

She saw the face of a man peeping at her through the top window pane. Overcome by fear, she began to cry and covered herself with her blanket. She called her mother on the mobile phone.

Investigations showed that Haryfan was on his way home when he decided to peep at the victim. He stood on a chair outside her room and used his cellphone screen to shine into the room.

He could have been jailed for up to one year and/or fined on each charge of insulting modesty.

  • Muslimah Failed Job Interview Due to Hijab

    1656420_841504222532752_1874394816_n 1622675_841504219199419_1710576101_n

Yesterday, i received this in my inbox. It is one of the many i received for these kind of situations.

    “Salaam Osman…
I have something to share which angers me.

My daughter just ‘failed immediately’ in an interview for not willing to remove her Hijab even though she has the necessary requirements.
    Allaahul musta’aan.”

    I enquired further and gotten to know that the interview was for a therapist course. He then continued;

“Theres this course for therapist, admin staff and etc at CGH. The interviewer was very blunt. The first question was ‘are u willing to remove yr hijab’ and when she reply no, they replied, ‘If u are not, u failed immediately’ – this is the exact reply.

She is a type not arguing which people….she just left the place. A course which guarantee a place in any hospital upon passing and completing.

What appalled me wes that, on the 18th march she attended the seminar they held…no problem. They have her record. Then applied, they called her for interview today…but today lain pulak jadinya.”

    —————————–

Im always very much affected reading such messages. Firstly, discrimination has no place in any society. It creates an ill will between people and it has a negative effect on the victim.

They feel isolated. Feels humiliated, angry. Develop low self esteem. Suffer humiliation. It can also contributes to depression, poor quality of life etc.

On top of that, it denies someone their human rights to be able to participate fully in our society.

Not only are they denying the hijab wearing women employment, but it goes to the extend of denying them the chance to learn.

As a society, we should be working towards creating a culture that respects n values each other’s differences and recognizes that diversity is a great asset to our community.

This PAP gov has shown time and again their outright blatant disregards for the minorities. To be denied equal opportunities in our own country shows a lack of respect by the ruling gov towards its own people.

I urged my community to turn their backs on the PAP. It is high time that we elect other ppl who can respect and accord us with equality.

  • No Muslim Should Join PinkDotSG

    SyedDanialpicbadge1

    I have a dream.

It is late-June. The day of the Pinkdot activity at Hong Lim.

Muslims are also gathering. By the thousands. But not at Hong Lim. But at numerous stadia around Singapore – Bedok, Hougang, Tampines, Yishun etc stadia. We gather to celebrate the Sanctity and Sacredness of the Family in Singapore.

It is a fun and festive atmosphere. Families are having picnics. Amidst that, Asatizahs give talks.

As the sun sets, we all gather for salatul Maghrib. Those who can, stay on till Isha. Its the first night of Ramadhan and we all pray tarawikh.

Prior to the day itself, our Mufti makes a strong stance against the LGBT movement. Emphasis is made that no Muslim should join the Pinkdot activity. As it is tacit approval to acts so heinous in the sight of Allah azzawajal.

In conjunction with PERGAS, a series of ‘roadshow’ talks are held in the satellite mosques, talking about the dangers of the LGBT movement and Liberal Islam. At the same time, there is full publicity for the show of support in the stadia on the same day of the Pinkdot gathering. The legion of Social Media enthusiasts encourage the youths to attend the gathering in support of the Sanctity and Sacredness of the Family.

    This is my dream.

It is not impossible. Subhanallah. MUIS has great potential to lead our community. They organised the salat istisqa. I was at Razak mosque. A VAST MAJORITY of Singaporeans stayed back after Jumuah salat to perform the Istisqa in Jemaah and stayed back for the khutbah.

Lo and Behold, the next day Allah azzawajal sent the rain.

Imagine what Allah azzawajal will be willing to do if we close ranks and show our resolve to push back against acts heinous in Allah’s eyes. If we sit back and continue in our state of docility, the pinkdot mvt will keep on pushing their agenda. And pretty soon, there will be Gay Pride parades down Jalan Sultan and Orchard Road, with images of gays in drag being beamed across the world, and the Sultan Mosque is the backdrop. A stark reminder of our docility, when we should be struggling for the Deen of Allah.

I have a dream. It can be a reality. If MUIS and PERGAS decide to wake up from their slumber. And truly lead the community.

Wallahua’lam. Have a wonderful night in the remembrance of Allah. Let my dream be our collective dream. And let us make sincere doa that Allah azzawajal sends his Nusrah. And protect our Aqeedah and that of our progeny for many generations to come.
