  • Malaysians Getting EP And PR Below Salary Criteria

Malaysians Getting EP And PR Below Salary Criteria

I am not sure how long this scene of Malaysians getting special benefits from MOM (to get EP below the salary criteria) has been going on, but it has definitely been around for at least 3 years.

I know this because my Malaysian ex-colleague in my previous company, has been holding onto her EP (renewed before too) for 3 years despite drawing lesser than the required salary, as stated on MOM’s website.

When I first got into my previous company, the boss was certainly very confident that he would be able to get me the EP with just paying me $2400. Initially I doubted him, as that was not to my knowledge and it was not openly stated anywhere on MOM’s website about this. However, when the EP came, I checked the application form which my ex-boss has filed to MOM for my work visa, and he did not lie to MOM about the salary that he would pay me monthly. It was indeed reported to MOM as 2,400, and it was approved. It came as a surprise for me, but according to my ex-colleagues, who happen to be mostly Malaysians, it was the same for them.

I believe that this may not be applicable to other nationalities.. as the Indonesians in the very same company I have mentioned above had to be under S-Pass instead. I even tried checking the self assessment tool just like the user who opened this thread, and my qualifications warrants an EP and S-Pass, whereas an Indonesian with exact same qualifications would only be able to get a S-Pass only.

Hope that this helps to give a clearer insight… Sorry if I’m reviving an inactive thread, but thought I would just like to share this information. Anyway, peace out.

Jafri Basron: Singaporean Malay And Chinese Stallholders Cannot Survive In Changi Business Park

There are TOO MANY INDIANS at the Changi Business Park that lead to failures in business selling Chinese and Malay foods.

There are many buildings at CBP and almost every building have their own food courts.

I observed that many stall-holders selling Chinese or Malay food would fold-up after sometimes due to poor business environment as there are few locals working in the vicinity . Hiwever, Indian food stall-holders is doing a roaring business there.

Each time a stall becomes vacant, another Indian food stall would open. Whether it is indian vegetarian food, north indian food, south indian food, chapati or briyani rice will be available.

In some of the food courts; more than 80% of the stalls are selling Indian related food.

I would like to take this opportunity to urge Singaporeans to open up their eyes and look hard at the present situation.

Singaporeans will soon be squeezed out of their own country if they continue to support the PAP Government who is more inclined to the foreign Indian community due to the CEHA agreement materialised between Singapore and India. In the afreement, Singapore government has to allow thousands of Indian workers to work and lives in Singapore and this takes up many jobs which is supposed to be filled by Singaporean.

  • 2 La Salle Students Suspended After Defending Girl From Bullying FT Student

2 La Salle Students Suspended After Defending Girl From Bullying FT Student

2 male students studying at La Salle, a local arts school in Singapore, have been suspended after defending a fellow student from the bullying antics of a foreign student studying in the school.

According to a witness, a foreign female student had attempted to force a fellow female student to give up her assessment space. In the midst of their argument, a male student approached the quarrel and tried to stop the foreign student from behaving like a bully.

Even though there was no physical threat or action from the male student, the female student pushed him away in the face with her hands.

When another male student tried to calm down the situation and approached the foreign student, she grabbed his finger and twisted it, causing the male student to hit out at her in an attempt to escape. Fortunately, the male student missed and the foreign student was unharmed.

She then proceeded to make a police report, claiming that the first male student had “molested” her and the second had punched her. Her accusations were proven unfounded and the police subsequently stopped pursuing the case.

Undeterred, the bully continued to cause trouble for the school and the affected students. She eventually forced school administrators to suspend the male students after the bully’s parents came down to the school and made a huge ruckus. According to an eye witness, the parents had marched down to the school to intimidate and harass the students involved in the incident by forcibly questioning students and taking photos of their faces to cause fear and discomfort.

Meanwhile, the foreign student receive no punishment for her action of physical coercion and bullying against her fellow female school mate.

The whistlerblower wrote: “Is this really how our college want to treat our student body? Where the represented, loudest mouth, and the most privileged “wins”. As far as we pride ourselves as an “independent” college, perhaps this is the time MOE should know a thing or two about this.”

He added that the incident was witnessed by many other students and was even reported on Laselle Confessions, although the page has been threatened into removing the post.
