[Malaysia] More Malay-Muslims Should Adopt Dogs From Shelters

I love this picture so much. Why? Because it’s so iconoclastic. It destroys the image that no dogs should exist in the world of Malay-Muslims.

We’ve been told since young how ‘unclean’ dogs are when in fact, the Quran (the central text in our faith) permits us to eat food caught by hunting dogs!!! So with all the contact made by a hunting dog (rubbing, biting, clawing), the food is STILL halal! How on earth can the dog himself be haram then? Only incredibly stupid people would think that.

I encourage all Malay-Muslims to adopt dogs from shelters. Shower them with the love you have for the ulamak. They are more deserving of your love…

  • My Instant Mee Rebus Paste Came With “Extra” Ingredients

My Instant Mee Rebus Paste Came With “Extra” Ingredients

    [Translation]

Just my luck. Wanted to eat mee rebus so I tried this instant noodles for the first time

Bought it at a frozen food shop at Geylang Serai Market, just behind the lift.

It was my aunt who recommended the shop because they say everything there is delicious. So we tried 1 first. As we were stirring, we saw something amiss.

There was actually a dead cockroach in the taucho part of the paste. There was a leg torn off. It was a pity

Edited: I’m not even angry. I justpity myself because I really wanted to cook Mee Rebus to break fast.

Below is the original post in Malay:

Malang naseb. Teringin nk try mee rebus instant nie for the 1st time.

Belilah kt kedai en frozen pasar geylang blakang lift sane.

Makcik saya recommend sane instant dier smua sedap2. Jadi kita cuba 1 dulu. Gaul punya gaul nampak lain mcm.

Rupanya ade lipas mati kt dlm. Melekat dgn tauchu. Kaki tercabot pon ade. Kesian…

Edited: Im not even angry. Kesian dgn diri sendiri pon ade. Niat nk masak buat buka. Tapi ade jgk yg mengata,

    Saya: Abg, dendeng 100gm abg..

    Abg dendeng: Ok.. 100gm S$5..

    Saya: ok abg. Boleh..

Ambil dendeng and buat bayaran terus jalan.
Bila saya check, alangkah sedihnya dlm paper bag cuma sehelai dendeng aje.

  • Non-Muslim Staff At Penang Culture JEM Attentive To Observance Of Halal Certification

Non-Muslim Staff At Penang Culture JEM Attentive To Observance Of Halal Certification

I was at Jem’s Penang Culture with my family and would like to commend their staff for their observance of their Halal certificate.

As a Chinese Muslim family we naturally look Chinese, and the staff was concerned about us putting my baby’s food in their baby bowls. He said it was not allowed as it is a Halal-certified restaurant (he’s not even Malay/Muslim, but appears to be a Filipino).

I assured him that I’m Muslim and the food, prepared at home, is Halal, but also thanked him for being careful and thorough.

Alhamdullilah, as we read about how some food establishments don’t take their certification seriously, it is nice to know that there are those who do.

    Keep up the good work

  • Tampines Hawker Centre Chicken Rice Stall Served Disappointment In My Lemon Chicken Rice

Tampines Hawker Centre Chicken Rice Stall Served Disappointment In My Lemon Chicken Rice

Salam dan selamat berpuasa kepada semua , i would like to share my bad experience with this chicken rice shop.. This is the worst ever chicken rice i’ve ever bought.. Im really sorry to say that but this is the fact.. I just bought this 2 packet of chicken rice just now evening around 7plus sebelum buka.. I have open 1 packet and put it on a plate wanting to feed my kids ..

There was a long queue and since we never patronize the chicken rice shop there before ; we decided to give it a try despite the long queue.. And so we ordered lemon chicken rice (- off the lemon) as this was for my kids.. When the staff handed me the plastic bag, i was surprised that the weight was so light but i didnt want to check as there was still a long queue behind us nak order mkn untuk buka.. So we paid a total amount of $8.40 (lemon chix rice cost $4 , takeaway add $0.20) No soup..

Service pon bad , tk friendly langsung , senyum pon tkda.. I tak pasal lah kalau tknk senyum ke apa, janji makanan sedap..

So once i’ve reached home , i wanted to feed my kids , terperanjat tengok the quantity was so little.. Tengok the chicken rice pon tkda selera & the chicken tasted funny & weird.. Double confirm with my mum & yes she said that the chicken nk rosak.. As you guys can see from the photo, the chicken is very dark and keras.. Jual org nasi ayam , tapi ayam dah nk rosak??? Hancur.. The nasi was also tasteless , so to be safe i dont dare to feed the chicken rice to my kids.. Tk pasal2 nanti dorang kene sakit perut.. Im so dissapointed that i couldnt get to feed my kids their meal just yet.. Wasted.. Its totally going to be my first and last patronizing that shop..
