Self-Proclaimed “Business Mentors” Have No Credibility, Harming Community’s Progress

Don’t u dare call urself an Entrepreneur or a Businessman if all u do is rely on ur fake workshops to be full.. What happens when u run out of people to “inspire”, what happens when u run out of minds to manipulate?

Trust me when I say that there are many that do not dare to speak up on this, for fear of being shut down, ridiculed or ganged up by these Fake Millionaire Mentors. Suit and tie konon, pose infront of other people’s cars, podah! Kocek kosong..

Siapa makan cili, dia rasa pedas. Not happy, delete and block me or straight up challenge me but make sure u are better then me or I will shut u down. If u have to knw, before u go up against me in business prowess, the sales target is 2 million a year, coz thats my sales target. If the target is too high for u, then turn around and walk away but If u think the target is not much for u or anyone in ur “Mentor Community”, get this, I achieve this target year in and year out, even when im sitting at home doing nothing. Even when Im sleeping. Even when Im on holiday. Even when Im ranting about u on Facebook. And I dont have to cheat and promise anyone the World to achieve this target. I make new prospects each minute of each day being who I am. U loose prospects everyday pretending to be who u are definitely not. So if u think, u can teach me about business, lu relak sua bruder….

U wanna go toe to toe with me, then make sure ur businesses are also toe to toe with mine. Otherwise, just take my rants as they are and do ur business elsewhere (like on a different continent perhaps) and please STOP cheating my fellow Muslim sisters and brothers out of their time, ambitions and money.

I am the real “Zero to Hero” … not u.
U are more like the Zero to Minus One…
And dont think I do not knw where ur awards came from or how much u had to pay for em…lol

There are NO short cuts when it comes to making money or running a business and as soon as the Malay community realise and believe that, ur classes will be empty… then what u gonna do? Teach baking ah? At least that is a profession and business I can respect 10x more…

On the same note, I urge everyone who is about to be duped of their time and money, pls do a proper background check on these mentors. Find out,

    1) Is my mentor the real deal, or a copy and paste on the blackboard kinda guy? They better be teaching something that u cant get free from Google.

    2) Does my mentor have and own the luxuries that he claims to have? Or is it all just hocus pocus and mambo jumbo.

    3) If my mentor is rich, how did he become rich? Did he make it from a business or did he make it from his so called seminars and classes, and if he did become rich from his full house classes, then u are better off if he teaches u how to run classes instead of teaching u on how to start up and be successful at a business he never owned or never did…

P.s : Im about to loose at least 10 FB friends…
But I am about to make a hundred more new and genuine ones…

#MuslimWomenCrushWednesday – Which Muslim Woman Inspires You Most?

    #MuslimWomenCrushWednesday

I’m gonna start off with the first Muslim woman that popped into my head. She’s a Speaker of Parliament, lawyer, unionist, daughter, mother, wife, mozlem, patron for the destigmatization of the mentally ill, hijabi (very confidently with her own unique style yo!), makcik bungkus2 (always spotted at a void deck happily helping fellow makcik and auntie grassroots with menial but necessary tasks like packing food), yishun-er (yes despite it’s increasingly ghetto status, she still lives in a humble hdb there), and most of all, i is so #fangirl over her cos she is a #sayitasitis-er!

“And then she said, set your own goals. If not, other people will set your goals for you, and you will become just a tool for other people to achieve their own goals. And don’t expect people to give you extra points just because you are a woman. Life is not golf; it doesn’t and shouldn’t work that way. #sayitasitis”

    #MWCW
    #yourturn

*We’re starting a hashtag movement! 1. Entitle your post “Muslim Women Crush Wednesday”. 2. Write (read: fangirl) about your favourite inspiring woman (Singaporean or otherwise) and 3. End it with #MWCW. Simple. You’ve got 24hours before Wednesday ends, go! And by you i mean YOU! Yes YOU, including the brothers who love their mothers.*

    #Fangirling
She said that in Islam, women get to keep their own property after marriage, while under the common law, women’s property goes into the common property of the marriage. And then she said, so ladies, you don’t have to contribute a single cent to the household if you don’t want to. You are not obliged. But don’t go home and tell your husband that Mdm Halimah said this; this is what Islam says. But if you redha and you want to give to help your family, then Alhamdulillah, i think this is good. #truth

And then she went on to talk about Prof Ying and Mdm Zuraidah before talking about her own accomplishments. Well sort of really because she talked more about the work rather than HER accomplishments. #humility

And then she said, set your own goals. If not, other people will set your goals for you, and you will become just a tool for other people to achieve their own goals. And don’t expect people to give you extra points just because you are a woman. Life is not golf; it doesn’t and shouldn’t work that way.#sayitasitis

And then she said, actually ustaz, i had hoped more bapa2 come for this conference. Maybe next time if you have such a muslim women conference, we can get more of the men to come. (…) And i hope there will continue to be more women on masjid boards. And don’t just have the women there to tolong buat kopi…give them more diverse and significant roles. #amikkau

(Ok so it seems like fate has it that my fb (and hence perhaps your newsfeeds) will continue to be filled with awesome Muslim women this week. Enjoy! *and yes, i generally truly enjoy sitting behind pillars*)

  • Muslims Must Find Allies Among Non-Muslims In Fight Against Islamophobia

Muslims Must Find Allies Among Non-Muslims In Fight Against Islamophobia

Possible lessons from the Linda Sarsour episode:

(For those who are unaware, she is a Palestinian-American and a social activist who participated in the women’s march held a few days ago. She gave a rousing, inspiring speech. Unfortunately, but predictably, she was slammed by many people; those on the far-right, but also, some Muslims.)

    1) Some men just cannot stand strong women, who have loud voices and are not afraid to articulate their opinions. This is regrettably still true, and it is really futile to pretend that it is not.

    2) As long as Muslims do not conform to certain expectations held by others, there will be efforts to ‘reform’ Islam and ‘modernize’ it. Can’t help but feel there would be fewer criticisms if she had not donned the hijab, or if she was a self-styled Muslim ‘reformer’.

    3) We should always challenge terminologies that are put forth by others. When others use the term ‘moderate’, or ‘progressive’, or ‘conservative’, do not let that slide, or worse, embrace them uncritically. This is not a matter of being an ‘academic exercise’; rather, it could have real-life implications.

In this case, the term ‘anti-Semite’ was bandied about casually. Is she anti-Semitic because she is Palestinian? Aren’t Arabs Semites in the first place???

Do not let others define the terms of discourse for us.

    4) Muslims should be aware that many of those who are defending Linda are those from other/no faiths. Yes, in the Western world, there are plenty of Islamophobes who wish to see Islam disappear from the face of the earth, and/or want Islam to be changed wholesale.

At the same time, there are many who are allies and potential allies, who have stood up and will continue to stand up for us. It is crucial to recognize this.

Muslims hate it when people paint us with the same brush. We, of all people, should know not to do that with ‘people in the West’, ‘Jews’, ‘the right’, and the like.

Malay Wedding Pay Respects To Passing Chinese Funeral Procession

A Chinese funeral and Malay wedding were seen co-existing in the same shared space within the vicinity of Blk 256 Pasir Ris. According to the Jan. 14 post by Maidin Packer, the guests at the wedding stood still to pay their respects as the procession moved along on foot.

Some members of the funeral procession reciprocated by nodding to acknowledge the guests.

The next time you need a real-life example of how far Singapore has come, remember that this is the Singapore you know but don’t read about very often in your textbooks.

  • Me Against The Muslim community: A Convert’s View Of Islam

Me Against The Muslim community: A Convert’s View Of Islam

After almost 20 years as a Muslim, I have arrived at some conclusions that put me at odds with the community.

    1. I do not believe the hijab is necessary. It is a cultural affection of the Arabs that evolved into a political statement. It is not mentioned in the Qur’an. And the same with the niqab.

    2. I think halal certification is either a scam or an unfortunate cost. Unless there are obvious reasons to suspect otherwise, everything is automatically halal.

    3. I do not believe damnation permanent. Neither do I believe Salvation is exclusive to Muslims. That limits God’s Mercy.

    4. I think many “authentic” narrations, even in Swahih al-Bukhari, are fabricated. We should exercise more skepticism of problematic ahadits.

    5. I do not believe dog saliva is najis al-mughalazhah, or any restrictions on dogs as pets. That contradicts the Qur’an.

    6. I do not believe that non-Muslims are restricted from inheriting from Muslims. There is no such stipulation in the ayat. There were historical reasons for the hadits.

    7. I do not believe all forms of interest is necessarily usury, riba’. That is a fundamental ignorance of economics.

    8. I certainly do not believe in gender segregation in public places. Strict gender segregation is unnatural.

    9. The concept of an Islamic state is an oxymoron.

    10. Drawings and artistic representations of the Prophet (s.a.w.) are not automatically blasphemous.

    11. Stoning is not a valid means of capital punishment.

    12. Most hudud punishments are outdated, and specific to certain conditions that do not exist for most of us.

I admit I never cared what Muslims think of me, orthodoxy or otherwise. I did not come to Islam to follow ingrained cultural practices and social beliefs masquerading as religion.
