  • Former WP Member: Pritam Singh A Clown For Suggesting That MINDEF Also Charge For Parking

Former WP Member: Pritam Singh A Clown For Suggesting That MINDEF Also Charge For Parking

Another clown from the WP side. Made such comparison without thinking.

By making NSMen to pay for parking space in camps is totally a bad idea. Firstly, most camps do have parking lots reserved for NSMen to park their vehicles during their call-ups. Do Mr Pritam Singh or WP do their call-ups before? Army camps are mostly situated away from any sights of residential or industrial areas. If many NSMen have to park their vehicles hundreds of metres away from the camps, they may jammed up the nearby parking spaces.

Secondly, have he or WP made a comparison of the number of vehicle parked in camps and schools?
In schools, the staffs that parked their vehicles are just a small fraction of estimated 20 vehicles. However in camps provided when thereare call-ups the number of vehicles parked could be more than 50 to 100 vehicles. MOST of the NSMen pooled their vehicles to reach to the camps.

Now more and more clowns are talking points without having considerations to the People. Mr Pritam Singh and WP is now showing that they are just incapable in having “debates” for the People. Next GE, WP Aljunied may fall completely with such clowns voted in.

Church Opens Its Gates So That Muslim Worshippers Can Park During Friday Prayers

    <Facebook post by Yu Ran>

There is a mosque and a church next to each other in my neighborhood, because there isn’t any parking space around, the church opened its grounds so that Muslim worshippers can park during Friday prayers.

Little scenes like this in Singapore makes me proud to call Singapore my home and it reminds me that no matter how different we are as human beings everyone deserves a little parking space on this planet. — at Spiritual Grace Presbyterian Church

  • Parking At Popular Parks No Longer Free

Parking At Popular Parks No Longer Free

Parking will no longer be free at selected carparks in 12 popular parks across the island, ruffling the feathers of some park goers.

The National Parks Board (NParks) is rolling out an automated fee system at 18 carparks in 12 parks starting from this month, including Choa Chu Kang Park, Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park and Labrador Nature Reserve.

The move, introduced at parks serving a large number of users, is meant to regulate usage and prevent abuse, said NParks director of parks Chia Seng Jiang in a Forum letter published in The Straits Times yesterday.

“In recent years, NParks has been receiving complaints on the constant misuse of parking spaces in the above parks, where parking spaces were taken up for extended periods of time by non-park users,” he said.

The new system is already in place at East Coast Park, where users said they are now charged $1 an hour, at all times of the day.

The Straits Times understands that the new charges are standard parking rates.

Some have expressed concern that the new charges could discourage people, especially the elderly and handicapped, from visiting the park regularly.

Housewife Lim Lih Mei, who is in her 40s, told ST: “I can understand why charges would be imposed because land is scarce, but parks are for general public use.

“For those with elderly folk and young children, driving a car is a necessity rather than a luxury. So why should they be penalised?”

Madam Jessy Leow, 70, who visits East Coast Park with her 70-year-old husband at 6am every day, suggested that the authorities could look into giving a grace period during the early morning hours.

“At night, I agree that the carparks are very packed, but in the morning, there’s hardly anyone there as most of the shops don’t open until around 11am,” she said.

Madam Leow, who has arthritis and gout, also added that taking public transport to the park is very inconvenient for elderly folk such as herself.

Others suggested that NParks could have looked into more effective ways to prevent abuse of the parking spaces.

For instance, it could have tried to find out which timings were more prone to misuse.

Mr Jason Fu, 26, a regular West Coast Park visitor, said that the new fees could lead to fewer park visitors. But the charges may help to reduce the number of motorists who park at the parks overnight, he added.

Said the graphic designer, who does not mind having to pay the parking fees: “People will think twice about parking there.”

In its Forum letter yesterday, NParks said it appreciated feedback on the charges and will monitor the situation at these carparks.

Mohammed Jufrie Mahmood: Foreigner Employed By LTA Overzelaous On Enforcing Laws And Shows No Compassion

This conceited looking officer employed by the LTA must be worth his weight in gold, making tons of money for his employer.

Though he does not admit that he is a foreigner (Malaysian) like most of his colleagues on motorbikes, his attitude betrays his nationality. He neither has any compassion, nor consideration for Singapore road users who may have parked their vehicles, albeit illegally, only for short while. Just take a good look at his arrogant face.

    Parking Coupon

He goes pouncing around akin to raids normally conducted by CNB officers when he goes to his favourite hunting grounds snapping away with his mobile phone camera and skoots off. No grace whatsoever is given. He does not entertain any explanation or pleadings. LTA must be very pleased with his performance.

The lorry below was issued a parking summons for causing obstruction though it was delivering goods and parked within a private property. The overzealous SOB just hantam only. Even cars parked with their drivers in the vehicles are not spared.

    Saman 1

Sadly this is the kind of fereigner the PAP loves so much, causing added misery to the long suffering Singaporean motorists.

Keep it up PAP, we motorists will not easily forget. We will hit you hard with a vengence not too long from now!

  • Biar Dicemuh, Makcik ‘Warden’ Setia Jalankan Tugas

Biar Dicemuh, Makcik ‘Warden’ Setia Jalankan Tugas

Bahkan, Cik Rukinah pernah menangis kerana insiden-insiden begitu.
