Beware! Peeping Tom Helps People Double Check Their Receipt At Sengkang MRT UOB Deposit Machine

    OK.

So i was at the UOB deposit machine located at Sengkang MRT Station. If you guys know exactly where it is, you do know that it is in an air-conditioned room and there’s only machines and no tellers.

When i walked in, i am pretty sure i am the only one in there and it is quiet. And also if somebody were to walk in, im pretty sure it would also be noticeable as the silence will break due to outside sounds coming in when the door opens. Well, you know what i mean. If not, just nod along and try to keep up.. LOL..

What do you guys normally do after you key in the information like account numbers etc? You double check against the paper that you are holding right? That is exactly what i did…….

And suddenly i heard a voice just behind my left ear….

    “Ya, correct…”

I turn around and saw this guy standing behind me, peering over my shoulder to “help” me double check my entry….

I was stunned like a vegetable. I stared at him and ask sarcastically..

    “Really?”

    “Ya.. really correct..” he answered..

    Menjawab pulak….

Ask him to back off and i quickly finished up the transaction. He goes back to the corner and just wait for his next victim…

Just a heads up for those staying in Sengkang..

  • Free Carpooling App For Mosque-Goers To Be Launched In Time For Ramadan

Free Carpooling App For Mosque-Goers To Be Launched In Time For Ramadan

Three weeks ago, 15 youths from the Malay/Muslim community decided to come together and create a free carpooling app for mosque-goers.

Terawhere, now in the final stages of development, will be launched on Friday, tying in with the start of Islamโ€™s holy month of Ramadan.

Before going to the mosque, drivers can key in a meeting time and location, and share their vehicle number plate and car colour using the app.

Those looking for a ride to the same mosque can use an in-app map to search for a nearby driver.

Ahead of the launch, 400 passengers and drivers have already signed up through a link provided by the app creators, after discovering the app online, said co-developer Tengku Hafidz, 24.

The app, which will be rolled out for Android phones for a start, was unveiled at the Touch of Ramadan Celebrations launch yesterday.

Its name draws reference from terawih prayers: The main form of night worship during Ramadan.

Speaking to reporters at the launch at Masjid Al-Ansar in Bedok North, Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs Yaacob Ibrahim applauded the idea of carpooling.

โ€œThere are a (few) more improvements they have to make, but I think the idea of carpooling and sharing, especially during the month of Ramadan, is certainly a wonderful idea, not only to save the environment but also to build communities,โ€ he said.

Healthy eating will feature heavily during Ramadan this year, with the Health Promotion Board partnering the South-East Mosque Cluster to print a booklet of 20 healthy recipes, including for dishes such as chicken nasi biryani and curry fish.

โ€œIโ€™m glad thereโ€™s a lot more information now thatโ€™s being spread so that people can understand what are the healthy dishes that they can continue to cook,โ€ said Dr Yaacob.

Mosque madrasah and mosque kindergarten students between the ages of five and 16 will be issued 10,000 donation cans, and they will be encouraged to save their daily pocket money during Ramadan in these cans.

Funds will go to the Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund after Hari Raya. The aim is to raise $850,000.

Junyuan Secondary School student Mohd Irfaan Mohd Ariffin, 15, received his can yesterday and said he will be depositing S$5 daily โ€” all of his pocket money โ€” over the next few weeks.

โ€œEven though Muslims are (taking part) in this programme, it also serves the needy who are non-Muslim … itโ€™s an impressive way to promote racial harmony,โ€ said Irfaan.

The line-up of activities includes Quran Hour: A time for all Muslims to recite the Quran together across the various mosques on June 11.

Cat Gruesomely Murdered At Bukit Batok, Police Report Made

Twitter user harleen shared disturbing photos of her murdered cat along the HDB stair well at Bukit Batok West Ave 7. She claimed that a neighbour could be responsible for this heinous act. The cat allegedly had its head smashed against the wall and threw down the stairs from the trauma at the right side of its head.

“My cat was murdered at Bukit Batok West Avenue 7. We suspect that my cat somehow sneaked out of my house and a neighbor smashed his head and threw him down the stairs. There’s a trauma at the right side of his head where most of the blood is coming from. He’s only 10 months fucking old i swear to god whoever who did this to Dan i hope you fucking rot in hell.

honestly we’re in shock but they never dare to venture out of the house. the furthest they went is always at our shoe rack. my cats aren’t ever a nuisance. they stay in my bloody house and never go around meeting other strays or even disrupting other homes

update: so I’ve met up with the police and ava officer and while the police checks the cctv, we’ve hand over Dan’s body to the awa for post mortem to figure out his cause of death. we’ve ruled out poisoning and falling from my house window as i live on the 10th storey. currently undergoing investigation and I’ve handed over my cat for post mortem to find out cause of death

  • Noor Mastura: My Relationship With The Hijab Strengthened Because My Mother Did Not Force It Upon Me

Noor Mastura: My Relationship With The Hijab Strengthened Because My Mother Did Not Force It Upon Me

I remember the first week I started wearing the hejab. I was ready to take it off by the second week. My friends laughed at me. Mind you, they were Muslim.
My friends who weren’t Muslims however – were incredibly supportive. Yes you Sumalatha Navan โค.

My mum was the happiest when I wore it. My sisters followed immediately and wore it too. So when I came back home one day and plopped myself at the dining table and blurted out to mum that I didn’t want to wear the hejab anymore, I anticipated drama and was so ready to rebut with a host of carefully constructed responses.

Mum was cooking but when the bomb dropped, she didn’t flinch. And without hesitation she said, okay. And I thought it was one of those ‘Mum-okays’ – you know that one – “okay fine, but don’t ever come back to this house again”
But no – she actually meant – okay.

And I said “Mum, I’m really going to take it off.” She stopped stirring the ladle, looked at me straight on and asked “Did I ask you to put it on?”
    “No”
“Why did you put it on?”
“Because I wanted to at that time”
“And why do you want to take it off now?”
    “Because I don’t feel right. ”

And she said the magic words I’ll always thank her for.
“It was your decision then, it is your decision now.”

But I still felt that she didn’t get it. She didn’t think i would actually take it off. We were meeting her friend at a mall that afternoon so she took off first and i told her I’ll drop by after.

I left home without the hejab. When I saw her and her friend, she looked at me as if nothing happened. It was so weird for me. Mum was actually okay with this????

She sat and talked and laughed and ate like everything was alright and nothing was amiss. We left and went to the station to catch a bus home. While waiting, mum and I took selfies together and she was happily smiling and holding me and hugging me like I didn’t let her down.

Even till this day, i don’t know if I did.

But I’ll tell you what I know. I lasted 3 days without the hejab. I made my decision and I’ve never looked back. Today, I’m as comfortable as I am with it or without it. And it is my sacred companion.

If my mum reacted otherwise – I honestly don’t know the kind of relationship I’d be having with my hejab. If any.
But this gratitude that comes with the freedom to choose – either way- is priceless.

And one can only hope that through this process, we are blessed with the likes of my mum, my friend and this dad right here. (See link for story)

  • Ridjal Noor: 10 Mistakes Of Malay F&B Businesses

Mari kita selidik some of the reasons:
(jangan marah kalau sentap, gunakan untuk muhasabah diri sama-sama.)

    1. Suka buang muka kat customer. Tak faham langsung tentang mechanics of energy dan aura.

    2. Tak sabar dengan customer. Beri $50 pun salah, beri syiling pun salah. Tapi takde PayWave. Lebih suka PayHalau. Halau customer yang takde exact change.

    3. Suka duduk berhinggap di meja depan gerai dan bersembang dengan members. Customer datang survey, dia buat bodoh, buat dek aje.

    4. Suka marah-marah. Terpekik-pekau. Dia dengan dia. Customer pun buat u-turn dan cabut.

    5. Display makanan tanpa ada label. Ini lauk apa, itu lauk apa. Bukan kerja susah, cuma dia fikir semua orang sepatutnya tahu. Kalau customer tanya, dia marah.

    6. Display menu dan signboard dari 10 tahun lalu. Sini pangkah sana pangkah, macam Ali Baba dan gengnya tengah planning nak serbu gerai dia malam nanti.

    7. Tak tahu apa tu marketing. Cuma tahu marketing tu pergi pasar beli sayur.

    8. Takde banner untuk nak tolong advertise gerai nya. Banyak kali, gerai nya terperuk kat satu corner. Tempat jin buat scissors kick.

    9. Terlalu mengharapkan word of mouth marketing. Kalau business teruk, salahkan “mesti ada orang buat kita”.

    10. Tak buat flyer marketing with call to action. Campak flyer di seluruh estate, letak di post box, di carpark kereta dan di pintu pangsapuri.

Rezeki itu beraliran. Ada Flow. Tersekat most of the time because we lack understanding of the minor minor things we do yang menghalau rezeki dan menghalau customer.

    Kalau setuju, sila share.
