Blacklisted Grab/Uber Drivers – Car Rental Companies Reconsider Renting Them Your Vehicles

To All Rental companies, do reconsider renting to all these hirers; Ang Pei Ling Sharon, Siti Aminah Binte Mohamed Normaya, Mohammed Yazri Bin Ya’Akob and Ong Seow Pang. They have defaulted our rental and yet always taking us for a spin for their commitment on payment. Worst of all, they will tell you how previous rental companies have treating them unfairly. Two of them, Sharon and Siti still hold a day job yet still refuses to pay and clear our rental. Ong Seow Pang even did not update his ID address resulting us a long time to repossess back our car.

Rental companies are always vulnerable to all these kind of rental payment defaulter. Since we are already a victim, we are left with no choice but put up in social media to warn all rental companies to take note. Our aim is not to shame them but to warn other to take note of renting to these hirers. We might not be their first victims so in order not to let them continue with their lies and deceive, we ought to play our part in stopping other rental companies to become their victims.

  • Of MRT Breakdowns And Exorbitant Uber/Grab Fares

Of MRT Breakdowns And Exorbitant Uber/Grab Fares

Whenever the MRT breaks down, all else fail too. Just take a look at Workers’ Party’s NMP Gerald Giam’s experience who was charged $49 for an Uber ride during the MRT breakdown that occurred yesterday. Any of you experienced exorbitant Uber/Grab fares as well? And Minister Khaw still has the cheek to say that the media is “unfairly magnifying” the problem of train breakdowns? #bull #bodohpehkambing

    ***

My experience yesterday evening on the MRT and this morning due to Downtown Line’s “signalling problem” (fare: $49). Is the media still “unfairly magnifying” the problem of train breakdowns, Mr Khaw?

  • Singaporean Woman Charged GBP $12.85 For Uber Trip She Did Not Take

Singaporean Woman Charged GBP $12.85 For Uber Trip She Did Not Take

Stomper Chloe was noticed a discrepancy when she checked her credit card bills recently.

She realised that she had been charged GBP12.85 for an Uber trip she supposedly did not take.

Chloe said that she had not made any Uber trips during the time period, and moreover she was in Singapore, so she could not fathom why the charges were calculated in British Pounds.

She subsequently wrote emails to Uber and Paypal, but alleged that they did not get back to her.

Chloe noted two more fraud transactions charged to her PayPal account, indicating that she had used Uber services.

    Said Chloe:

“This has provided much inconvenience and cause me to lose confidence.”

In response to Stomp’s media query, a spokesman from Uber said:

“We do not comment on individual cases due to our privacy policies which protect both riders and drivers.

“Our team will review the incident and address it accordingly.

“However, it is important to stress that there are myriad reasons why this could occur – including whether the user is maintaining good habits in safeguarding personal information security, whether the device had been compromised, or even issues with the financial institution and its products.

“It would not be right to speculate, but we will continue to monitor the issue closely.

“Riders are encouraged to contact our 24/7 customer support team through the in-app Help, Account and Payment Options, or online through Account and Payment Options, should they suspect that their account has been compromised.”

  • Lady Gives Birth On An Uber On The Way To NUH, Gets S$300 Worth Of Uber Vouchers

Lady Gives Birth On An Uber On The Way To NUH, Gets S$300 Worth Of Uber Vouchers

Siti Halimah Mahamud was 36 weeks pregnant when the pregnancy pain started again.

This time, however, the pain didn’t go away.

The persistent pain led to her calling an ambulance, and an Uber.

    The Uber arrived first.

Danny Chong was the Uber driver who picked up the pregnant Siti, and her sister-in-law.

He then proceeded to drive as quickly as he could while ensuring the safety of his pregnant passenger.

Halfway through the trip, Siti’s water bag burst.

This took the sisters by surprise, considering Siti had to undergo an induced pregnancy for her first child.

Some three to five minutes before they reached the National University Hospital, however, an extra passenger popped out.

Chong was as calm as you could be with a newborn baby at the back of your car.

He didn’t complain or make any noise through the birthing process, merely assuring the sisters he would drive safe and make them feel as comfortable as possible.

Needless to say, they did make it safely to the hospital.

    Post-birth

The Uber adventure did not end with the birth of the baby though.

Both the driver and the mother had some tokens to remember their exciting ride.

The mother was given S$300 worth of Uber vouchers, as well as a hamper.

And perhaps the most lasting of reminders, the hospital documented the baby’s place of birth as Ayer Rajah Expressway.

As for the driver, he had a more visceral reminder of the event.

Chong had to take the car to Johor Bahru to get it cleaned, as he couldn’t find a willing local cleaner.

Uber did reimburse him for the expenses, but according to Chong, there’s still a “smell” in the backseat.

He did, however, appreciate the thank you text he received the next day from Siti.

    5 stars.
