Lawa Bintang’s Nasi Lemak Lobster Is Prove That Malay Singaporeans Can Succeed Through Diligence & Holding Belief That Sustenance And Wealth Is Given Only By Allah

    Best regards

Amongst my many years of experience dabbling in business, the current one is the most challenging and inflicted with trials.

We are just a humble stall so for somw to compare us with a restaurant eg. how efficient Mcdonalds manage extremely long queues, would be ridiculous.

There are only 4 stoves and 1 rice cooker in our small kitchen.
Imagine if the rice cooker has a voice, it will definitely say that it cooks and cooks till boss say stop 😅

We are proud to be a part of Malay Singaporeans that have proven we can succeed if we are diligent and hold on to the belief that our sustenance and wealth (rizq) is given only by Allah, in due course.

Never crossed our minds that our Nasi Lemak Lobster will be the talk of the town.

This makcik stall does not and will continue not to provide food for others anyhow or cincai, as some may call it.

Yes, we know it is part and parcel of the service industry, to receive positive and negative comments.

Those who like it Alhamdulillah, and those who do not, we appreciate your kind understanding that each person’s tastebuds is different.

We apologise if we are unable to please and cater to everyone’s taste.

But we deeply hope, kindly refrain from looking down on the food should you find it undesirable as food in any form, is a blessing from God.
Having the desire and the means to eat is also a blessing from God.

Thank you all for supporting me.

    Alhamdulillah.

The Cultural Traditions Of The Malay Silat Pengantin – Osman Sulaiman

For my non-Malay friends, this is what ‘Silat Pengantin’ (silat bride) in a Malay wedding looks like.

During the early Malay civilisation, Silat Pengantin was performed in front of the Sultan of a country by a Panglima (commander). The purpose of doing so was to showcase the skills and fighting capabilities of that Panglima, which was important during the era where wars between countries were frequent.

For wedding purposes, Silat is not used against an opponent but rather as aform of respect, blessing and protection.

The Silat Pengantin has to be performed with great respect and etiquette. When performing the Silat Pengantin, care must be taken and the following be observed:

    – Movements must be graceful so as to be respectful to the bridal couple.
    – There should not be any movements where the back is shown to the bridal couple.
    – The feet must not be lifted too high.
    – There should not be any “aggressive” movement directed towards the couple.
    – Performer should not move to the side of the bridal couple.
    – No weapons should be used when performing.
    – During the performance, the performer should not make any utterances.
    – It is traditionally believed that the Silat Pengantin has to be presented in odd numbers i.e. one, three, five people and so forth.

Religious Leaders Conducted Prayers For Singapore Formula 1 Grand Prix

SINGAPORE: With the gaze of the motor racing world set to be firmly focused on Singapore next week with the Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix, the organisers have left nothing to chance to ensure it runs smoothly.

A ceremony was held at the race’s Marina Bay Street Circuit on Wednesday (Sep 10), where religious leaders from Catholicism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism, Sikhism, Judaism, Jainism, Zoroastrianism and the Baha’i faith conducted prayers for good weather and the safety of the 23 drivers and their teams, race officials and spectators.

“As we gear up and put the finishing touches to the Marina Bay Street Circuit, we will not leave anything to chance,” said Mr Colin Syn, deputy chairman of Singapore GP, the event’s promoters and organisers.

“We are honoured to have the religious leaders representing various faiths with us here today to participate in this tradition to bless the track and pray for the event.”

The tradition, which started with the inaugural race in 2008, was continued as the finishing touches were put to the 5.065km circuit for this year’s edition.

Coming into the Singapore Grand Prix, Mercedes’ Nico Rosberg leads the drivers’ championship with 238 points, ahead of team-mate Lewis Hamilton (216) and third-placed Daniel Ricciardo (166) of Red Bull.

Last year’s Singapore Grand Prix winner, four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull, is sixth with 106 points.

Mercedes also lead the constructors’ championship with 454 points, ahead of Red Bull (272) and Williams (177).
