    There is a mosque and a church next to each other in my neighborhood, because there isn’t any parking space around, the church opened its grounds so that Muslim worshippers can park during Friday prayers.

    Little scenes like this in Singapore makes me proud to call Singapore my home and it reminds me that no matter how different we are as human beings everyone deserves a little parking space on this planet. — at Spiritual Grace Presbyterian Church 长老会灵恩堂

    Erwin nak pegi Malaysia kerana Islam, tapi kena slam. Ada yg lemparkan kata2 sinis. Ada yg dah dekat skali dgn fitnah kononnya Erwin tu nak pegi Malaysia kerana career.

    Dia nak ke negara jiran kerana Islam pun kena kritik. Apa ni? Korang ingat sini byk senang ke nak jalankan tugas sebagai orang Muslim? Apa salah ke nak pegi tempat yg menyenangkan diri untuk mempraktikkan agama sendiri?

    Kalau korang nak defend Singapura, konon2nya sini pun tak susah nak jalankan tanggung jawab sebagai orang Islam, meh sini saya bagitau sikit.

    1. Tandas shopping centre kebanyakkan nya tiada paip air untuk beristinjak. Yg ada tissue. Senang tak?

    2 Sembahyang jumaat kadang2 majikan tak kasi pergi. Kalau kasi pun, lincah2 kita kena balik. Senang tak?

    3. Yg pakai tudung, tidak dibenarkan berkerja di dalam uniform group. Yg nak cari kerja, kadang tak dapat kerana pakai tudung. Senang tak?

    4. Contractor2 melayu islam, tidak dibenarkan ke kawasan2 tertentu di dalam tentera walaupun hanya bertugas. Senang tak?

    5. Tempat mushollah walaupun sudah semakin byk, tetap berkurangan. Nak sembahyang, kadang kena pergi jauh sikit. Senang tak?

    6. Nak sembahyang bila dah sampai waktu, brani tak agak2 nak ckp pada majikan kita nak time off dari kerja untuk menunaikan solat? Senang tak?

    Jadi kalau dia nak pergi ke negara jiran kerana dia fikir ia akan menyenangkan dirinya untuk menunaikan ibadah, yg kita sibuk2 nak slam dia asal? Cubalah beri semangat sikit untuk dia. Jgn pula kita berprasangka buruk terhadap sesuatu yg baik.

    Saya tak marah. Cakap2 aja. Selamat Hari Raya. Kalau tersilap kata, mohon maaf.

    Local Malay Muslims often lament the ignorance and insensitivity of other races towards them. Read what one has to say in response to a posting by a local Chinese regarding the Muslim prayer calls…

    Came into a Malay country, took over. Changed its name. Changed its game. Changed everything. Took control. Indirectly forbidding Malay becoming president UP TILL NOW (because fear that whenever there’s dispute amongst neighbouring Malay countries the president would ‘give face’ in order to not start a war). Navy and Air Force too reject Malays…

    Got lots of things Chinese do that Malays just kept quiet and closes one eye. All of us pledged “Regardless of race, language and religion…. based on justice and equality” So why are Chinese creating problems now? Aren’t we supposed to live in harmony? Yall are guests in this country, shouldnt u respect the host and follow their rules?
    Look at the money ure holding, who’s face is that? Lee Kuan Yew?? Our National Anthem, what language is that? Tagalog?? Who first found Singapura? Tan Thock Seng? Khoo Teck Phuat??? Its Malay, it’s ALL MALAY.

    When Chinese have FUCKING loud funeral causing noise pollution, did Malays complain? When Chinese burn incense everywhere causing land pollution and air pollution, did Malays complain? When Chinese burn candles during Lantern festival and leaves wax everywhere, did Malays complain? When cars are parked outside Churches during weddings or Sunday prayers causing inconvinience to other road users, did Malays complain? When Chinese queue at Malay food stalls during fasting month (though they know its fasting month and there are alot of other Chinese stalls around but they still choose the Malay stalls) making Malays delay their breakfast time, did Malays complain???

    We Malays are very understanding. Fuck the fact that we are lazy, sleezy, or sloppy coz at the end of the day, we are the ones who ALWAYS give in. We are the one who neutralizes everything, well most. We dont expect gratitudes.. we just seek understanding from Chinese to not be sucha bitch complaining over everything and almost anything. It’s always the Chinese (most of the time). I dont see Indians or Eurasians having problems with Malays/Muslims. Pls la Chinese, let’s live in harmony. The last thing we want is a Civil War.. let’s hope it doesnt happen.

    I dont meant to offend Chinese as general, just SOME that keep on aiming the Malay/Muslims community. So stop saying NOT ALL CHINESE blah blah blah.. Read properly nextime before commenting.

  • Muslims Were Issued Parking Summons During Friday Prayers

    Earlier today 16/5/2014 @ 1310hrs while going for my friday prayers at sengkang mosque, saw an enforcement officer issuing summons to vehicles parking along the road at sengkang almawaddah mosque.

    While advising him to give chance and be tolerant for abt 30mins as those drivers are attending to fridays prayers.

    The officer told that he cant as its an offense to park along a zigzag white line but i told him that he too park his motorcycle along the zigzag white line while summoning the vehicle. He replied that he is special and able to park to carry out his duties.. i told him why can’t he parked at nearby carpark and walk to the spot to carry out his duties… y a double standard??

    Some confrontations happened between him and some other muslim passerbys…

    I wont comment much as not to fuse any racial misunderstandings… but how i wish racial and religions tolerance is at its very best… haiz!!!!

  • Muslims have Special Parking Rights?

    On the afternoon of 10 January 2014 between 1.15pm- 1.30pm, I parked my car at Geylang road between Lorong 30 to 32, and left my car to run some quick errands. When I returned, I received a summon ticket for parking along a double yellow line. I am aware that it is an offence to park along a double yellow line, and I accept that I will have to pay for the parking offence. However, I noticed that there were many other cars parked along the same road and opposite from where I parked my car. They were all not issued any parking summons.

    I stood there and observed the LTA officer (One female in plain clothes by the name of Phyllis), and another in uniform (Indian guy) summoning a few other vehicles. Phyllis stood there and observed which cars belonged to Chinese owners, before directing her Indian colleague to issue summons to these vehicles. I went up to the LTA officers and questioned why they were issuing summons only to the Chinese vehicle owners and not the Malays.

    Phyllis told me that the Malays who are going to the mosque nearby are allowed to do so. Is there such a rule in Singapore that I am not aware of? If so, why do I see LTA officers summoning cars during festivals where we Chinese are offering prayers to our god? I see no racial equality in this situation. Please help to share around so that this issue will be brought to the relevant authorities attention. Thank you!
