Fatal ‘Hit-And-Run’ Accident On SLE Involving 23-Year-Old Rider; Police Investigating

A 23-year-old male motorcyclist died in a hit-and-run accident on Seletar Expressway (SLE) on Sunday (Sept 10) afternoon.

Police were alerted to the accident, which occurred in the direction of Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE), at 1.33pm.

The motorcyclist was taken unconscious to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH).

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said he had suffered from traumatic arrest – which meant his heart stopped beating – and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) was administered en route to the hospital.

The hospital was alerted to be on standby to receive him. He later succumbed to his injuries.

The Straits Times understands he suffered a head injury and a fractured left arm.

His pillion rider, a 22-year-old man, was conscious when taken to KTPH, and had abrasions on his left limb.

    Police investigations are ongoing.

At 1.59pm, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) tweeted about the accident, saying there was “congestion” until the Woodlands Avenue 2 exit, and that motorists should avoid the second and third lanes.

There was still heavy traffic as of 4.01pm.

  • Biker Killed In PIE Accident, Second Fatal Motorcycle Accident In 2 Days

Biker Killed In PIE Accident, Second Fatal Motorcycle Accident In 2 Days

Another motorcyclist was killed in an accident on Tuesday (Aug 8) morning, a day after an accident claimed the life of a 30-year-old motorcyclist.

The accident on Tuesday happened along the Pan Island Expressway (PIE) after the Dunearn exit, the police said in a Facebook post on Tuesday morning.

The police told The Straits Times that they were alerted to an accident involving a car and a motorcycle along PIE towards Changi Airport at 7.21am. The 31-year-old male motorcyclist was found lying motionless and was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene.

The Straits Times understands that the motorcyclist was riding along the PIE when he hit a wooden plank on the road and flew to the opposite side of the road from the impact. A car coming from the other direction ran over him.

Videos posted on social media show a blue tent at the scene, along with emergency vehicles.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force told ST that it was alerted at 7.25am and dispatched an ambulance to the scene. A male motorcyclist in his 30s was pronounced dead at the scene.

The police advised motorists to avoid using the road, as both directions of the PIE towards Changi Airport and towards Tuas are congested. The Land Transport Authority in a series of tweets told motorists to avoid various lanes on the PIE due to an accident.

    Police investigations are ongoing.

  • 1 Dead, 4 Taken To Hospital After Car Flips Over In Fatal Accident At Woodlands Avenue 12

1 Dead, 4 Taken To Hospital After Car Flips Over In Fatal Accident At Woodlands Avenue 12

A motorcyclist was killed and four other people, including a one-year-old infant, were taken to hospital after a car flipped over onto the opposite lane at Woodlands Avenue 12 on Monday evening (Aug 7).

Channel NewsAsia understands the driver of the car was trying to avoid another vehicle when his car hit a traffic light and overturned.

Police said they were alerted to an accident involving a car, a lorry and two motorcycles at the junction of Woodlands Avenue 12 and Woodlands Avenue 1 at around 7.30pm.

A 30-year-old male motorcyclist was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene. The other motorcyclist, a Malaysian, and a married couple in the car were taken to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital. The driver of the car is in his early thirties.

Police said that the couple’s one-year-old child who was in the car as well, was taken to KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

    Police investigations are ongoing.

Dashcam footage circulating on social media showed a dark-coloured car flipping over a road divider onto the lane opposite. One motorcyclist appears to be knocked into the path of the lorry and the other motorcyclist rams into the overturned car and falls over.

Members of the public were seen rushing forth to help. One man pulled the infant from the overturned car, and another passenger appeared to crawl out of the car.

Other pictures on social media showed debris and what looked like vehicle parts scattered across the junction, as well as what appeared to be a dislodged pedestrian crossing light.

Facebook user Wilson Lee shared video of the aftermath of the accident. He said that there was “massive congestion” when he took the video at around 10pm.

  • Uncle Got Lost On Expressway Met An Angel On Two Wheels Who Sent Him Straight To His Destination

Uncle Got Lost On Expressway Met An Angel On Two Wheels Who Sent Him Straight To His Destination

Got myself a new helmet cam yesterday and half hour later, it captured this. I’m not sure if its a blessing in disguise or if he’s lucky to see me. But I do know that I have to share this here and hope that it’ll encourage people to go out of their way to help others. Do good and good will come to you. Ramadhan Kareem everyone =)

Edit: Forgot to mention, he took the bus and missed a stop. So he tried walking straight to the direction of the bridge and entered the expressway. His daughter in law’s place is at the end of the bridge on Eunos side.

And to my fellow riders asking about the camera I’m using, its a Drift Ghost-S from Motoworld @ Kaki Bukit.
