So Is Farid Khan Supportive Or Against The Unjust Persecution Of Rohingyas?

Yesterday Farid Khan’s personal FB account shared a post containing a link to a petition which expressed support for the prosecution of Myanmar leader Aung San Suu Kyi in the European Court of Human Rights over the Rohingya refugee crisis. When public found out about the post, he deleted the FB account to prevent a ‘similar incident’ from happening in the future and issued a statement.

    In the statement, it wrote:

“It has been brought to my attention regarding a report by ASS, alleging that I am throwing my “weight behind a petition calling on the European Court of Human Rights to try Myanmar leader ASSK for human rights violations” in Myanmar. The report is completely untrue.”

So this Muslim presidential candidate retracted his post on petition for Rohingyas after it was known to public. But why did he retract his support or lack of?

A netizen posed him this question:

“Mr Khan, so do you support our Muslim brothers and sisters who have been unjustly persecuted and murdered by the Myanmarese government, and whos nobel laureate aung san suu kyi did not do anything to stop these human rights violations?”

Maybe Singaporeans especially Muslims in Singapore would like to know his answer to the question. To be fair, does any of the 3 Muslim presidential candidates care for our Rohingya brothers and sisters?

  • Presidential Candidates Halimah Yacob And Salleh Marican Shook Hands At Event (Boleh?)

Presidential Candidates Halimah Yacob And Salleh Marican Shook Hands At Event (Boleh?)

Presidential hopefuls Halimah Yacob Salleh Marican met at the launch of Singapore’s first milk bank yesterday and they exchanged a few words. Halimah Yacob was there as the guest of honour at the launch whereas Salleh Marican is the treasurer on the foundation’s board of directors.

When asked, Salleh told some reporters that he is planning to submit eligibility forms to the Elections Department a week from today. He also has several interviews lined up and is preparing mentally. Halimah, on the other hand, declined to make any comments in relation to the upcoming reserved elections.

Not surprisingly, a photo captured them shaking hands with big smiles on their faces. Is this a problem? As Muslims, one would know that Islam forbids men to touch women who are not mahram, including shaking hands for acquaintance, forgiveness, gratefulness or other reasons (even political).

So why did they shake hands? Are political causes more important than our religious values and beliefs?

  • Australian Senator Pauline Hanson Wears Burqa To Parliament In Bid To Ban Them

Australian Senator Pauline Hanson Wears Burqa To Parliament In Bid To Ban Them

Australian far-right senator Pauline Hanson wore a burqa to parliament on Thursday (Aug 17) as part of her campaign to ban the all-enveloping garment worn by some Muslim women, drawing a quick rebuke from the government and Muslims.

Hanson sat in her seat in the assembly for about 20 minutes covered by the black burqa before removing it to call for them to be banned in public for national security reasons.

“I’m quite happy to remove this because this is not what should belong in this parliament,” Hanson, who leads the far-right One Nation party, told the Senate.

“If a person who wears a balaclava or a helmet in to a bank or any other building, or even on the floor of the court, they must be removed. Why is it not the same case for someone who is covering up their face and cannot be identified?”

Hanson, who first rose to prominence in the 1990s because of her strident opposition to immigration from Asia and to asylum seekers, has in recent years campaigned against Islamic clothing and the building of mosques.

Her party has four senators, which gives it influence in parliament when closely contested legislation is being voted on.

    Attorney-General George Brandis rebuked Hanson.

“I am not going to pretend to ignore the stunt that you have tried to pull today by arriving in the chamber dressed in a burqa,” he said, drawing applause from members of the Senate.

“We all know that you are not adherent of the Islamic faith. I would caution and counsel you with respect to be very, very careful of the offence you may do to the religious sensibilities of other Australians.”

Adel Salman, vice president of the Islamic Council of Victoria state, said Hanson’s action was “a mockery of her position”.

“It is very disappointing, but not surprising as she has sought to mock the Islamic faith time and time again.”

  • Jawatankuasa Fatwa Muis Benarkan Bayi Muslim Terima Susu & Ibu Muslim Derma Susu

Jawatankuasa Fatwa Muis Benarkan Bayi Muslim Terima Susu & Ibu Muslim Derma Susu

  • Commentary: Do Muslims Actually Want To Live In Homogeneous Society & Fence Up From Everything Not Islam Or Islam Enough?

Commentary: Do Muslims Actually Want To Live In Homogeneous Society & Fence Up From Everything Not Islam Or Islam Enough?

Sometimes I wonder, really wonder, whether some Muslims want to actually live in a homogeneous society and fence themselves up from everything that is not Islam or Islam enough.

But then I see them using facebook, whatsapp, smart phones, instagram; drive cars made by kafirs; eat kafir food at kafir franchise fast food restaurants; carry kafir handbags; wear nice little but expensive tudungs made in kafir countries; watch kafir tv; idolise kaya actors, actresses, icons who drape themselves with kafir made jewelries and attires etc etc etc. Some even drink halal beer.

Many would commit mass pecah amanah secara terbuka by melayan social media waktu kerja or gossiping about some actresses tunjuk peha gebu during office hour (what irony) or lying to the doctor to get mc for an extra day off after a long weekend.

Some would come to my house and actually ask where I bought the chicken and soya drinks that I was serving them. But they would pour chili sauce made by kafir companies, on their steaks no less. (eating steaks with chili sauce in itself is a sin).

Really, aku tak paham perangai depa ni semua.

    Apakah persetubuhannya yang depa mau?
