    Self-Proclaimed “Business Mentors” Have No Credibility, Harming Community’s Progress

    Don’t u dare call urself an Entrepreneur or a Businessman if all u do is rely on ur fake workshops to be full.. What happens when u run out of people to “inspire”, what happens when u run out of minds to manipulate?

    Trust me when I say that there are many that do not dare to speak up on this, for fear of being shut down, ridiculed or ganged up by these Fake Millionaire Mentors. Suit and tie konon, pose infront of other people’s cars, podah! Kocek kosong..

    Siapa makan cili, dia rasa pedas. Not happy, delete and block me or straight up challenge me but make sure u are better then me or I will shut u down. If u have to knw, before u go up against me in business prowess, the sales target is 2 million a year, coz thats my sales target. If the target is too high for u, then turn around and walk away but If u think the target is not much for u or anyone in ur “Mentor Community”, get this, I achieve this target year in and year out, even when im sitting at home doing nothing. Even when Im sleeping. Even when Im on holiday. Even when Im ranting about u on Facebook. And I dont have to cheat and promise anyone the World to achieve this target. I make new prospects each minute of each day being who I am. U loose prospects everyday pretending to be who u are definitely not. So if u think, u can teach me about business, lu relak sua bruder….

    U wanna go toe to toe with me, then make sure ur businesses are also toe to toe with mine. Otherwise, just take my rants as they are and do ur business elsewhere (like on a different continent perhaps) and please STOP cheating my fellow Muslim sisters and brothers out of their time, ambitions and money.

    I am the real “Zero to Hero” … not u.
    U are more like the Zero to Minus One…
    And dont think I do not knw where ur awards came from or how much u had to pay for em…lol

    There are NO short cuts when it comes to making money or running a business and as soon as the Malay community realise and believe that, ur classes will be empty… then what u gonna do? Teach baking ah? At least that is a profession and business I can respect 10x more…

    On the same note, I urge everyone who is about to be duped of their time and money, pls do a proper background check on these mentors. Find out,

    1) Is my mentor the real deal, or a copy and paste on the blackboard kinda guy? They better be teaching something that u cant get free from Google.

    2) Does my mentor have and own the luxuries that he claims to have? Or is it all just hocus pocus and mambo jumbo.

    3) If my mentor is rich, how did he become rich? Did he make it from a business or did he make it from his so called seminars and classes, and if he did become rich from his full house classes, then u are better off if he teaches u how to run classes instead of teaching u on how to start up and be successful at a business he never owned or never did…

    P.s : Im about to loose at least 10 FB friends…
    But I am about to make a hundred more new and genuine ones…

    Surbana Sackings An Example Of Weak Unions In One-Party Rule

    I read with sadness about the Surbana’s sacking of 54 workers. As an HR practitioner for 10 years, I’ve gone through many firing exercises.

    Businesses will always place its profitability above everything else. That’s nature.

    But what is not acceptable is that when it terminate employees under the guise of poor performance.

    From news reports, we know that the terminated workers weren’t given the due process for the termination.

    I believe this happens because our labour laws are inadequate such that a company as big as Surbana has the temerity to act in such a manner.

    From this episode, I hope Singaporeans start to realise that a strong union with bite is necessary.

    We need to start looking at matters that govern our lives and not allow politicians to dictate what is best for us.

    To a certain extent, a weak Union is the result of a one party rule which is bad for any nation as opposed to what Mr Ong Ye Kung recently espouses.

    I’m gonna start off with the first Muslim woman that popped into my head. She’s a Speaker of Parliament, lawyer, unionist, daughter, mother, wife, mozlem, patron for the destigmatization of the mentally ill, hijabi (very confidently with her own unique style yo!), makcik bungkus2 (always spotted at a void deck happily helping fellow makcik and auntie grassroots with menial but necessary tasks like packing food), yishun-er (yes despite it’s increasingly ghetto status, she still lives in a humble hdb there), and most of all, i is so #fangirl over her cos she is a #sayitasitis-er!

    “And then she said, set your own goals. If not, other people will set your goals for you, and you will become just a tool for other people to achieve their own goals. And don’t expect people to give you extra points just because you are a woman. Life is not golf; it doesn’t and shouldn’t work that way. #sayitasitis”

    She said that in Islam, women get to keep their own property after marriage, while under the common law, women’s property goes into the common property of the marriage. And then she said, so ladies, you don’t have to contribute a single cent to the household if you don’t want to. You are not obliged. But don’t go home and tell your husband that Mdm Halimah said this; this is what Islam says. But if you redha and you want to give to help your family, then Alhamdulillah, i think this is good. #truth

    And then she went on to talk about Prof Ying and Mdm Zuraidah before talking about her own accomplishments. Well sort of really because she talked more about the work rather than HER accomplishments. #humility

    And then she said, actually ustaz, i had hoped more bapa2 come for this conference. Maybe next time if you have such a muslim women conference, we can get more of the men to come. (…) And i hope there will continue to be more women on masjid boards. And don’t just have the women there to tolong buat kopi…give them more diverse and significant roles. #amikkau

    Protect Yourselves – Here Are The Dos and Don’ts Of Riding Escalators

    A step in an escalator at White Sands Shopping Mall in Pasir Ris buckled on Saturday (Jan 21), just after a couple with a baby in a stroller stepped off.

    Fortunately, no one was injured.

    Escalator incidents have been in the spotlight recently, with the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) telling The Straits Times in a report on Jan 2 that it had received reports of 63 cases since Nov 1, 2016.

    Of these, 95 per cent of them were attributed to “user behaviour”.

    Escalator users commonly lose their balance while carrying heavy or bulky objects.

    Here are some dos and don’ts while taking an escalator, according to a BCA advisory.

    DO:

    1. Hold on to the handrail.

    2. Accompany young children on the escalator.

    3. Push the emergency button to stop the escalator for emergencies.

    4. Stand within the yellow lines marked out on the escalator steps.

    5. Use the lift instead if you are pushing a trolley, pram or luggage, or have limited mobility.

    DON’T:

    1. Stop or loiter at the landing area, as this obstructs other passengers.

    2. Be distracted by your mobile device, and do not drag or slide your feet off at the end of the escalator.

    3. Play or run on the escalator, or lean over the handrail.

    4. Stand near the sides of the escalator, as soft footwear may get stuck in the gaps.

    5. Stand at the edge of escalator steps, as this can cause a loss of balance.

    Fluff Bakery Tebar Sayap Ke Kuala Lumpur

    Fluff Bakery, kedai kek cawan atau ‘cupcake’ popular Singapura, sudahpun mula menebarkan sayapnya ke Kuala Lumpur. Ini apabila ia melancarkan kedai sementaranya yang pertama di ibu kota Malaysia itu.

    Kesemuanya, Fluff Bakery akan membuka empat kedai sementara itu di sana.

    Bagi kedai sementara yang pertama itu, ia dilancarkan lebih seminggu lalu (14 Jan) dalam satu acara privet. Ia dihadiri para penaja, rakan-rakan dan keluarga. Acara itu berjalan dengan lancar dengan hampir kesemua 450 kek cawan yang dibawa dari Singapura, disapu bersih!

    “Kami sebenarnya tidak percaya dapat respons yang begitu baik. Tetapi Alhamdullilah semuanya baik hingga kami risau jika bekalan kami bawa ke Kuala Lumpur tidak mencukupi,” ujar pemilik bersama Fluff Bakery Mohammad Ashraf Mohammad Alami, 35 tahun.

    RANCANG 4 KEDAI SEMENTARA DI KL

    Kedai sementara yang berlangsung hanya sehari itu adalah yang pertama daripada empat siri yang akan diadakan Fluff Bakery di merata Kuala Lumpur.

    Meskipun kedai sementara yang pertama itu diadakan secara privet, Fluff Bakery menyatakan tiga lagi kedai seumpamanya akan didedahkan kepada orang ramai pada masa yang terdekat.

    “Insyaallah, menjelang bulan Mei nanti kami akan menubuhkan kedai yang tetap di Kuala Lumpur,” kongsi Nursyazanna Syaira Md Suhimi, 29 tahun, pemilik bersama dan ketua pembuat kek Fluff Bakery.

    Pasangan suami isteri itu turut berkongsi kepada BERITAMediacorp bahawa impian untuk menembusi pasaran Kuala Lumpur atau Indonesia sudah lama terpendam sejak mereka bermula menapak di dunia perniagaan pada bulan November 2013.

    “Memang sudah lama kami impikan menembusi pasaran lain dan pada masa yang sama, menyasarkan menjadi antara yang utama di Asia Tenggara,” tambah Encik Ashraf kepada BERITAMediacorp.

    ISTERI JOVIAN MANDAGIE TAWAR BANTUAN

    Fluff Bakery menyatakan terdapat ramai pelanggan mereka di Singapura, juga datang dari negara jiran. Pelanggan-pelanggan itu juga memberi maklum balas yang positif terhadap kek cawan mereka.

    Namun penantian hendak menebarkan sayap ke Malaysia hanya berlaku apabila seorang lagi pasangan suami isteri yang juga pemilik kafe, Double A dari Malaysia, mempelawa Fluff Bakery untuk meneroka peluang di Malaysia.

    Kalau sudah rezeki, takkan ke mana. Mungkin itulah pepatah yang sesuai diberikan Fluff Bakery. Ini kerana sejurus selepas idea Double A itu, seorang lagi usahawan Cik Nina Ismail Sabri yang juga isteri kepada pereka fesyen terkenal Jovian Mandagie melahirkan hasrat yang sama kepada kedua-dua Encik Ashraf dan Cik Syaira.

    Menurut kedua-dua pemilik bersama itu, kedai sementara di Malaysia itu dibuat secara privet kerana mahu mendapatkan maklum balas terhadap produk-produk Fluff Bakery.

    Antara mereka yang hadir semasa pelancaran itu adalah pelakon Alvin Chong, usahawan fesyen, Vivy Yusof, dan penulis-penulis blog di Malaysia.

    KEDAI DI KL AKAN BERBEZA DARIPADA DI S’PURA

    Walaupun bimbang andainya langkah itu terhenti separuh jalan, Fluff Bakery berkongsi kepada BERITAMediacorp bahawa masanya sudah tepat bagi mereka berdepan dengan cabaran baru supaya ‘tidak rasa selesa’.

    “Di Singapura, kami sudah stabil. Dan kami berterima kasih kepada masyarakat kita yang sering menyokong perjalanan kami sejauh ini. Tetapi masanya sudah tiba untuk kami berdua ingin melihat berapa jauh ‘bayi kesayangan’ kami boleh pergi,” menurut Syaira dan Ashraf.

    Dengan bantuan daripada rakan-rakan niaga di Malaysia, Fluff Bakery berharap rancangannya dapat berjalan dengan lancar. Apatah lagi, pesaing-pesaing dalam industri makanan di Malaysia memang hebat.

    “Kami seronok dengan perjalanan kami sejauh ini dan tidak sabar untuk fasa seterusnya. Memang banyak cabaran yang akan kami hadapi. Yang utama sekali, kami tidak ada kelebihan dari segi pengikut kedai kami berbanding di Singapura,” ujar Encik Ashraf.

    Kedai tetap yang bakal diadakan nanti di Kuala Lumpur juga berbeza daripada kedainya di Singapura. Di Kuala Lumpur, Fluff Bakery akan mengetengahkan kedai di mana para pelanggan dapat membeli dan menjamu selera di kedai itu sendiri.

    “Isteri saya dan kakitangan kami akan menjalankan latihan untuk bakal pekerja kami di sana dan kami membuat kajian dan mendapatkan nasihat daripada rakan-rakan di sana mengenai selok-belok menjalankan perniagaan di Malaysia,” tambah Encik Ashraf kepada BERITAMediacorp.

    APA RAHSIA SEBENAR FLUFF BAKERY?

    Daripada sekadar mengambil tempahan, kepada ‘bersinggah di kedai orang’. Kemudian memiliki kedai sendiri dan akhirnya impian hampir menjadi kenyataan untuk membuka sebuah kedai tetap di Kuala Lumpur. Apakah sebenarnya rahsia Fluff Bakery?

    Encik Ashraf tersenyum dan mendedahkan bahawa resepi atau senjata rahsia Fluff Bakery adalah… isterinya, Cik Syaira.

    “Beliau bukan saja berbakat tetapi juga mempunyai minat yang mendalam apabila timbul perihal membuat kek ini. Beliau tidak penat menukar dan mencari resepi dan kepelbagaian bagi produk-produk kami demi para pelanggan,” kata Encik Ashraf.

    Cik Syaira pula berkongsi kepada BERITAMediacorp bahawa menjaga dan mempertahankan jenama Fluff Bakery itu juga antara perkara yang membuat Fluff Bakery berjaya.

    “Sudah tentu suami saya banyak tolong dalam isu pentadbiran. Kalau harapkan saya, dah pengsan jadinya!” seloroh Cik Syaira.
