    Ummi Abdullah: Suspension Of My Ambeng Cafe May Be Sabotage Job

    Salam Semua,

    This will be a long post, I been thinking about it and after much contemplating, I feel the need to talk about this because there is something we can learn here.

    I guess its no longer a secret after the media decide to publish the news of Ambeng Cafe being suspended because of cockroaches.

    Few months back I receive a PM from a man name Raimi Hairil. He told me that his family is down with food poisoning and asked me for a refund and pay the medical bill, since he went to company doc there is no payment from him thus no reciept so I dont know how much must pay him.

    As usual Im worried so I still decide to refund and pay his medical bill. So as a procedure I ask for his medical bill even though I dont know how much is it. He sent a few to me. After looking at the bill, I realise the medicine that was given to his daughter is for cough, phelgm and not one medicine for diarhea. As an adult u can cheat doc, but a child cannot.

    As I have children, I use to see this medicine.

    So I ask for his explanation, and he is unhappy. He say he is going to the authority with this. Me on the other hand think that, I have nothing to be afraid. I am very very clean with my work. And since you are reporting, i cannot do anything about it.

    I decide to not pay him, its not much, but its not right. Its against my integrity as a person. Im not going to pay him so that he keep quiet. I won’t do that. Thats not me. I did nothing wrong why must I be afraid.

    And so I left him there, without paying him.

    After a week, NEA officer come and they say they recieve a feedback. The Officer name Farhanah, go to my kitchen and do her rounds, and she did not find anything in the kitchen.

    She proceed to the bar, and pull my ice machine. There she found cockroached. Beside this ice machine, we put carton of can drinks. For this I was given 6 points.

    Then she proceed to check my staff, one of them is only 2 weeks old and as he is a malaysian we have to wait for the malay class. Nevertheless, he was caught doing packing. For that I was given 6 points.

    With 12 points I was suspended.

    So today, the internet is splash with the news of Ambeng Cafe being suspended. And guess what, Mr Raimi Hairil, sent me a pm with a thumbs up. I actually already forgot about him.

    How bad can someone be? Do you need to do send me a thumbs up? What benefit you get. This is the business life in Singapore, if people complain about anything officer come and check, and as a big operation they can definately find something. To accept someone complain for food poisoning, you must take stool test and all. So leceh, check first. Wallah they found something.

    For 7 years I cook, no food poisoning case. And the coacroach issue it took me 2 hours to clear. And for my staff he already went for the course. Don’t I deserve a warning?

    Anyway I ask for the pic of the so call infestation, they do not want to give me. Like I say, if they want to find something they can.

    Anyway, this is something i will always face, customers who want to take advantage, officer coming to check, its part of this business that I have chosen, right now I just focus on getting better. With this incident, it just taught me more and my staff and I just get more closer as everyone finally realise how bad things can be id we lapse or not focus.

    To Raimi Hairi, I am very proud of my self for not giving in to you. I stand still. I know I can silent you with money. I know I will get into trouble but I have integrity. This case today its not about you, its about coackroach, but you sending me a thumbs up and being sarcastic just show what kind of person you are. You take pleasure in someone misery.

    You may not involve in this or are you?, but that thumbs up is not necessary.

    Last but not least, people should know that, I am a woman of prinsip. You can kill me if you want but for me to stoop low just to survive .. I won’t…. I rather die.

    Ckp2 pasal issue tudung ni, I have a feeling the government is scared. These people are not stupid, there have something that worries them.

    You see, I think the government is worried about the controlling the situation and afraid things may escalate to another level.. how you control this?.. takut lepas minta hijab, they go a step further minta ruang solat, lepas tu, what if minta tak nak pegang lelaki.. you see where is the line.

    If the government are so particular why doctor boleh di kasi hijab pulak? kerana mungkin tak ramai doctor wanita islam, the impact is diff, tapi nurse melayu kita bynk.

    I think they are worried when people start asking for more.. from hijab, to waktu solat pulak.. to this and that.. where is the line? How to control. I think they worry about this. Nanti takut minta ruang solat pulak, org agama lain nampak nanti dia minta chapel pulak. Nanti dah ada ruang solat, takut.. org tak kira waktu emergency.. one after another pergi sembayang..I think the government is worried about this.

    Kat Australia, ke Britain ke.. mereka kasi pakai hijab mungkin tak bynk org.. dlm satu department mungkin tak satu yg pakai hijab.
    I rasa ini yg buat government kita contemplating.

    Ok ini bab I rasa, MUIS and our Muslim MP, ustaz dan ustazah nak kena masuk, educate the government. Kita jugak nak kena tunjukkan yg kita tak akan melalut sampai ke next tahap yg eh.. “aku wanita islam, tak boleh pegang lelaki. You all get what I mean. Hospital is a place where emergency happen. I think the gorvenment still afraid of the extremist.. Now we ask for hijab, next prayer. .. how u manage things like this?

    I think they worry all these may effect the workflow in the hospital.

    Ok everyone, please don’t get me wrong, I’m with all of you that wants a hijab, I’m just relating this to you because I have a feeling that the government is worried. I maybe wrong. We need to know why is the government is not allowing this. we need to counter this back in a pratical way. I am a muslim, and I’m sharing this because of Allah swt.

    And dear government, if I am wrong, then come forward and give ur explanation why u don’t allow hijab? Is this the reason what MR Yaacob Ibrahim meant by problematic? Can you communicate with your muslim citizens? Please share with us what is ur concern. Can MUIS also step in and explained to the government how we can make this idea of having a hijab at work more feasible?

    Dapur Ummi Abdullah Cancelled My Catering Reservation Without Listening To My Appeal

    Dear All Singapore Stuff,

    I am a regular customer of Dapur Ummi Abdullah, whom is now a talked about caterer amongst the Malay food lover.

    As a regular ‘tingkat’ customer, I am being disappointed as THEY put me is the lurch to find another caterer at this short period of time.

    Far back between of March’15 or April’15, Dapur Ummi Adbullah, opened up booking for Hari Raya Menu. She makes her customer as a BULL DOZER RACE to book at her created Webpage within an hour only. After which, if the booking is found successful, she made her customer pay 50% deposit & the balance will have to be paid by end date 1st July ’15. I have paid an amount of $70 as a deposit & the balance of $75 is to be paid later.

    Four months apart, I sincerely & it is my fault to overlook the said date. Dapur Ummi admin staff proclaimed that they sent a reminder via my Facebook. PM messages dated 30/6/2015, I believed Once again I have overlooked the Private messages that they have sent. Dapur Ummi Adbullah, have 2 Fanpage in Facebook, the reminder that they proclaimed sent was on the Fanpage which I seldom use. They have my telephone number as a regular Tingkat customer but refused to make an effort to give a customer a call & just use Facebook has a portal of interaction. Just because they are famous caterer… to her Lost One Customer doesn’t makes any losses…

    Today is a shocked to me that I have received a PM FB messages that my slot was released to others. This caterer is HEARTLESS, 2 weeks before Raya, she released my slot just because I did not pay the balance PAYMENT on time. Even though, I am their regular customer, no appeal could be entertained. I felt that this caterer is so worried ABOUT not receiving payment $$ & just DON’T CARE about her customer, leaving them to find another caterer in 2 weeks TIME before Hari Raya.

    Many times, THEY could not commit to her Tingkat menu. They simply takes her decision to refund which ever menu she could not commit. They could just deliver the balance menu without even replacing the shortage. Exp. if that day menu is Fish, Veggie & potatoes fitters, the fish that could not be committed, she expected her customer just to eat Veggie & the potatoes fitters only. She expected the announcement, she published in her FB, to be read by her customer, giving at short period of ALERTNESS via her FB on the very same day, if she could not commit to any menu. So HERE, I would like to alert others as to be extra careful & think twice if you want to choose Dapur Ummi Abdullah as your caterer.

    If you compare prices, Dapur Ummi Abdullah is far too expensive with no Customer focus.
