Commentary: No Other Possible Way Of Calling A Spade A Spade, Similarly A Kelong President

    PAP’s Kelong Presidency

Some people, especially my Malay FB friends, are not happy that I use the hashtag #MadamKelongPresident against Halimah. They seem to think that I am disrespectful to her just because she is Malay President?!

That is utter nonsense. Just like many Singaporeans, I am totally disgusted with PAP’s rigging of the Presidential Elections. Unfortunately, Halimah has CHOSEN to be part of this disgusting ploy.

As explained, she could have just WALKED away from submitting her nomination papers so to trigger an Open PE after the other two contenders were disqualified. She would have shown that she is truly INDEPENDENT of PAP’s ploy and we would applause her true spirit of democracy. But no. She has CHOSEN to play along with PAP’s script. The rest is history.

I do not know Halimah personally and do not have any ill feelings, neither good feelings about her. She is just a plain White PAP people to me.

However, no matter what you say about her being a “Nice Lady”, the truth is, she has become the President under such Wayangism and Kelongism. There is really no other possible way of calling a spade a spade, a Kelong President so she must be.

I am confident that she will not be the ONLY Kelong President in Singapore history. There will be Future Kelong Presidents, REGARDLESS of Race, Language or Religion or Sexuality, as long as PAP is in Total Monopoly of Power. There will be Chinese Kelong President, Indian Kelong President, Eurasian Kelong President etc. There will be Madam Kelong President and Mr Kelong President. All in all, they will be ALL the same, the product of Kelongism and Wayangism by PAP government.

As long as there is Kelong President, I will call he or she as so; thus, mistake me not, it is NOT about Halimah but it is the Kelong Presidency of hers which will deserve such appropriate calling.

As long as there are people who are wiling to play along with PAP’s Kelongism and Wayangism, there will always be Kelong Presidents born out of the process. I shall not be moved by any SOB story of why these people have to accept or forced into the ploy or scheme of things. As long as you made that conscious choice, you are hardly innocent of being the accomplice of such Kelongism.

Kelong President of PAP you shall be.

  • President Who Can Speak Malay Is Useless If Not Independent

President Who Can Speak Malay Is Useless If Not Independent

Some quarters of my community weren’t too happy that presidential hopeful, Salleh Marican, wasnt fluent in Malay. Rightfully so.

Malay is our National Language. To be the president of Singapore, the people expect hopeful candidates to at least be able to speak the language. You represent Singapore. You should at least be able to converse in our National Language.

For those who are supportive of Salleh Marican not being able to speak the Malay language, do bear in mind that all three of our Prime Ministers, even if they are Chinese, can speak fluent Malay. And a national figure who can’t speak our National language is a cause for concern.

As for me, a presidential candidate who cant speak the language of those he represents, is a secondary concern and not the deciding factor in casting my vote. My primary concern is whether the candidate is able to function and act in the interest of Singaporeans.

We certainly do not want a President who speaks fluent Malay, who wows the crowd with bombastic words, who write beautiful poetry but is impotent in delivering its duties.

The last thing we want is a President who can speak Malay but cannot act independently and having complicity with the ruling party.

  • Why Are MUIS’ Funds Used To Support The Religious Rehabilitation Group (RRG)?

Why Are MUIS’ Funds Used To Support The Religious Rehabilitation Group (RRG)?

It has been narrated on the authority of Ibn Umar (radi Allahu anhu) that the Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “If you deal in ‘Aina transactions (those that involve riba’) and hang onto the tails of cows, being satisfied with cultivation and cease to Struggle for Allah, He will inflict a humiliation upon you which will not be removed until you return to your religion.” [Reported by Ahmad and Abu Dawud and graded as authentic by Al-Qattan. Al-Hafiz states in Al-Bulugh that the chain of narrators is trustworthy and reliable.]

Subhanallah. Look at the words of Rasulullah SAW. When we leave the Struggle for the Deen of Allah azzawajal, He will collectively humiliate us. And focus on the words used by Rasulullah SAW. The perfectly-legitimate business venture of raising livestock, when focused on exclusively without struggling for the Deen of Allah azzawajal, is being referred to as hanging on to the ‘tails of cows’.

Brothers and sisters, ask ourselves are we not being humiliated? We fund MUIS. We pay zakah to them. They use that money to pay salaries of MUIS staff…

Why Is RRG Using MUIS' Money

Yet we have next to no say at all on how the organisation is run.

Isn’t that humiliation? Have we been focusing too much on our careers, etc, and collectively as a community, left the Struggle for Allah azzawajal?

    Wallahualam.

May Allah azzawajal Grant us the Courage to truly Struggle for His Deen.
