  • Goh Meng Seng: Singaporeans Are Politically Illiterate Because Of PAP

Goh Meng Seng: Singaporeans Are Politically Illiterate Because Of PAP

Thought of the Day – Political illiteracy

I had a nice chat with an alumni of my Alma Mater today over lunch.

He told me that many of the Singaporeans he came into contact with are basically politically ignorant. He gave me an example that two of his close associates did not think that it is wrong that PA or Town Council under PAP’s control refusal to let opposition party use the facilities is wrong. The reasoning given was that these “belong” to PAP and it is purely politics that PAP should not allow opposition parties to use these facilities.

But when they were corrected that these facilities were built using taxpayers’ money and do not belong to PAP, they raised doubts about it!

Such political ignorance is really deep rooted all thanks to PAP’s deliberate effort in blurring the lines between itself and PA. Opposition controlled TC is expected to allow PAP to use whatever premises in their town via “grassroot organization” like PA or RC or CCC. But PA has all rights to allow PAP to use its facilities for whatever activities disguised as “grassroot events” while opposition parties were banned from using its facilities by using the excuse of “PA’s premises should not be politicized”!

And you may wonder how could well educated Singaporeans who are graduates or diploma holders, actually agree and even support such blatant abuse of tax payers’ money for partisan interests!

The conclusion my friend has made, most Singaporeans are not “Politically Educated” and PAP is very happy to maintain such Political illiteracy for Singaporeans. This I will have to agree. Do our schools teach our students on what is Democracy? Rule of Law? Separation of Powers? Judiciary Independence? Freedom of Speech and Expression? Well, only on some “abstract Highfalutin” National Pledge which PAP didn’t even believe in nor respect!

  • McDonald’s Singapore: Only Halal Cakes Allowed In Our Outlets

McDonald’s Singapore: Only Halal Cakes Allowed In Our Outlets

Due to the recent news of McDonalds Malaysia banning non-halal birthday cakes on their premises, McDonalds spokesman Faz Hussen has clarified on the issue to the local mainstream news.

Mr Hussen said that although McDonalds does not allow outside food on their premises, birthday cakes are an exception. However, birthday cakes brought into the premises have to been halal certified and this practice has been in place since McDonalds received their halal certification in 1992.

He added that as a halal certified food establishment, McDonalds Singapore has to strictly follow the regulations set out under the halal certification to ensure their food complies with halal requirements so that it is permissible for muslims in Singapore to patronize.

During the food preparation process, McDonalds Singapore takes precaution to ensure their food products are not mixed with non-halal certified products.

Indonesian Maid Abused My Grandma, Stole Her Money, Then Ran Away To Malaysia

    <Credits: Areefaz>

On Monday 2nd of January 2017 around 7.30am, my grandmom was pushed and beaten by her helper who have worked with her since July last year. Not only that, the helper twisted n broke my grandmom’s right ankle while grandmom tried to stop her from leaving th house. My grandmom is currently warded in the hospital due to th injuries and fractured leg. She suffers some bruises from the scuffle too.. All this happen while my aunt was out sending her daughter to school.

Before she left, she have also stolen my grandmom’s money approx $1.3k (supposingly to bank in that day) and rm300+. She also took my aunt’s Samsung Tab. The helper has left Singapore to Malaysia via Woodlands Custom on that very morning according to th Investigation Officer.

We have lodged a police report and got legal advice on this matter too. We are just waiting for the Investigation Officer to get back to us on the updates.. Since this is not a Murder or Drug case, Interpol will take sometime to handle this.

I would like to seek help from everyone here to make this post viral so the helper can be found in no time. For our family, we are totally fine if the helper wants to leave if she really want to but why does she need to beat up and broke my grandmom’s leg. It is just unfair for my grandmom who is already 86years old and less mobility..

We trusted and treated her just like our own family. My family members will give her extra allowance for her own expenses, additional of her salary. Bought for her lots of things and she got lots of rest thru out her working here. She will also took her nap too as and when my grandmom naps. So we are shocked when this happens.

We have no idea what triggers her too.. Coz if she wants to fled, she can do it th past mths while she was alone with my grandmom. We believe that she was influenced or taught by someone that crossed path her recently. But no one cares about it now. All we care now is to seek justice for my aged grandmom who is still in a trauma state.

Her details are as per below –

Name of Helper : Baiq Sulaemi
    #MAKEITVIRAL #THEFTOFSERVANT #CRIMINALMAID
    #WANTEDMAIDBYTHEAUTHORITY

Do PM or Whatsapp me if you have any info about it. Thank You All For Your Help..
    Jazakallahu Khayran

IN SINGAPORE IF EMPLOYER WERE TO ABUSE AND CAUSE HURT TO A DOMESTIC WORKER, TH EMPLOYER WILL BE CHARGED SO WHY CANT THIS HEARTLESS MAID BE CHARGED FOR HER WRONGDOINGS. ESPECIALLY TO AN ELDERLY WOMAN.

  • Feeling Alone As Sole Malay Nominee For Her Cohort, Pri 4 Girl Rejected Prefect Nomination, Against Father’s Wishes

Feeling Alone As Sole Malay Nominee For Her Cohort, Pri 4 Girl Rejected Prefect Nomination, Against Father’s Wishes

Durrah brought back a form. She got selected to be a prefect. She held the role for 2 yrs already. This time, she told me she didnt want it. As a mom, I asked and she has explained. I hear her reasons. One of them was for the fact that she is the only Malay nominated within the P4 cohort. So she felt “alone”.

Then the girl consulted the father. For her father, I could understand when Hid tried to coax her to take up the given role. He shared his sadstory, “Last time, I want to be a prefect but was never selected”. But what made me laughed was when he added, “Durrah, you are the only Malay nominated. Which is what made u special. Take it. For us; for the Malay community”.

Alas, Durrah chose not to accept but she said she will think abt it; especially when she learned that living her dad’s wish will bring her more of Allah’s blessings.
